this year, I have also found myself actually listening to Bruno and nodding along occasionally. And what I have realised is that - compared to the white noise of Shirley and Motsi - he is actually quite perceptive in his critiques sometimes too
I agree - whilst I'm always shouting "Sit down, Bruno" etc, I think he's not a bad judge at all - my respect for him developed on the Day The Scoreing System Went Down, and he was the ONLY ONE who had the nous to add up the scores and read them out! He totally took control - Craing just mentally absented himself (probably because Darcy and Shirley were clinging to each other as they screamed and fought their way to the last lifeboat) and the wimmin, I'm ashamed to say were completely lost off.
Bruno just reached for the helm and steered the entire show away from the jagged rocks of total disaster (or possibly even Di-SAH-ter, darling).
I thought - Blimey, he isn't just a coked-up has-been after all.
I've rather appreciated him since then, as the Man I Love To Shout At On The Telly.
