You're not wrong there, x2boys!!

Patch23042 · 14/07/2020 22:43

Bill Waddington had forgotten to remove his wedding ring in an episode recently.

The Jim/Liz scenes were powerful I think, even with the editing.

SapatSea · 15/07/2020 09:31

I hated when Bill Webster said to Jim "What did she do to deserve it?" Doesn't matter what she did, no one deserves it. Good on Vera for barring Jim and keeping Liz on. There is no way I'd have gone to see Jim for his "apology" like Vicky did.

Fiona is such a brat, her brother lends her the money to buy the lease of the salon and she shouts and barracks him because he suggests she rent the flat out so she can actually make a financial go of the place. Then she gives Maxine a week's notice to find somewhere to live??

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 15/07/2020 09:45

Yes, powerful scene - but the editing was atrocious.

x2boys · 15/07/2020 11:40

I agree Sapat Bill Webster didn't come across at all well with that remark ,also telling Jim that Liz had put make up on it to make it more noticeable like women do or words to that affect HmmYes fiona,s really irritating and she thinks a hell of a lot about herself!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 15/07/2020 14:35

It was really quite uncomfortable watching Bill and Jack trying to justify how Jim had behaved. It’s even worse to think the scriptwriters eventually have Liz get back with Jim at least twice more after this Sad

eggandonion · 15/07/2020 14:50

But horribly realistic,, all of it.

oldbagface · 15/07/2020 21:01

Bill said to Jim re the make up 'that's how they operate.'

I've gone right off Bill.

Fiona is even more annoying second time around. Have never liked the actress and it's probably, well definitely because of her Fiona character.

It's unrealistic. Men falling at her feet but don't seem to notice fun, bubbly and beautiful Maxine?

eggandonion · 15/07/2020 21:18

I had two pre schoolers and a baby on the way when this was all going on. For some reason I have forgotten a lot of it! I went into labour during Corrie in December of his year, that will be interesting to see.

SnakesOrLadders · 16/07/2020 09:58

Yes Bills comments were awful, can’t stand Vicky’s meddling either.
Fiona then was awful character and the shouty acting so over the top- that scene in the rovers Fiona shouting at her brother - you could see Sarah Lancashire cringing in response.
I like judy and Gary in the street needed new characters at this point.

x2boys · 16/07/2020 11:33

Yes exactly why does no one notice Maxine ,she's very pretty and she's not sullen and miserable or arrogant like FionaConfused

eggandonion · 16/07/2020 12:47

My dh notices Maxine, we were going to see her in a play once but there were only restricted view tickets left. He points that out most days.
I wonder if the old actors watch themselves in the afternoons, that would be a good Corrie special, a sort of gogglebox timeslip.

x2boys · 16/07/2020 12:55

Yes I wonder that @eggandonion I also wonder how the original Nicky,Sarah-Louise ,Rosie etc feel about the actors currently playing their parts ?

eggandonion · 16/07/2020 13:38

If i was a replaced person I'd despise the new actor and watch my old videotapes, whilst inwardly knowing that I was the best child star ever.

x2boys · 16/07/2020 16:45

I'm sure it was a different baby Daniel today ?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/07/2020 17:42

If i was a replaced person I'd despise the new actor and watch my old videotapes, whilst inwardly knowing that I was the best child star ever.

GrinGrin

Weirdly the original Adam Barlow has actually done well in America! The old Sarah-Lou, on the other hand, was last heard of working in Greggs Sad

x2boys · 16/07/2020 17:44

I hope she's doing a better job in Greggs than she ever did in Corrie!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/07/2020 19:28

oldbagface · 16/07/2020 20:15

I really don't like the way Liz is being treated like a peice of meat to pass around by that bookie fella.

And Andy not wanting her to divorce Jim. He wanted to kick his head in the other day.

I notice Fiona is still sweetness personified.

x2boys · 16/07/2020 20:44

I think Liz and Jim are a toxic couple ,he's a paranoid aggressive drunk who sorts everything out with his fists ,and she flirts with men for attention ,she should have kicked jim into touch properly when she was running 'the Queens

FeltCarrot · 17/07/2020 16:09

I’m sure Steve called Andy “Nick” in one of Tuesdays episodes this week. (The actor being Nicholas Cochrane).

FeltCarrot · 17/07/2020 16:15

And the flat above the salon housed Maria, Liam, Beth, Kirkby and gawd knows how many others but there’s no room for poor Maxine.

FeltCarrot · 17/07/2020 16:20

Kirky not Kirby!

x2boys · 17/07/2020 20:02

Wow!what a,Twat,I can't remember that episode 😲How come everyone's in the Square Dealers all of a sudden and it's never been mentioned until very recently🤔

ImaWomAnnotaWomEn · 18/07/2020 15:20

No way would they get away with the Liz storyline these days, basically hinting she 'asked for it'.

Make me feel a bit sick.
