Ah, I’d forgotten it was ecstasy, I thought it was something class A, but I suppose E makes sense as it was the 90s and that was the current tabloid obsession. I can remember how the whole story ends (won’t give spoilers though) I looked it up on the Corrie wiki and it reaches its climax in the summer so we’ve got a few weeks to go.

x2boys · 13/03/2020 18:12

Ashley Peacock!!!!!

FeltCarrot · 13/03/2020 20:16

I keep trying to see if the furniture in Deirdre’s house is the same in CC as in today. There is that strange wooden sofa against the wall and is the table the same? I’m sure Deirdre was trying to flog it to Curly and Raquel last week and Ken was trying to get it back from Mike because it wasn’t Uncle Alberts.

FeltCarrot · 13/03/2020 20:17

*was uncle Alberts, not wasn’t.

x2boys · 13/03/2020 21:17

Yes that sofa looks incredibly uncomfortable I alwas wonder where she sat on an evening and why do all the street residents have a table and chairs in their lounge ,they have two reception rooms ,can one not be used for dining ,did the table and chairs not get in the way of tv viewing🤔

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 14/03/2020 14:25

YAY! It's Saturday afternoon again!

Five hours of lovely Classic Corrie all in one go 😁😁😁!!

And, oh yes, last Sunday's LTI Halifax aswell.

It's going to be a long session....

Redglitter · 14/03/2020 18:01

God how horrible was Derek to poor Mavis when she got home from hospital.

Cant stand Tricia & Jamie. Thank goodness for the ff button

SapatSea · 15/03/2020 10:46

Derek is vile, always hated him and Norris. Agree about Tricia, one Vera Duckworth on the street is more than enough.

Fred Elliot, I say, Fred Elliott makes my skin crawl "so he does."

Kannet · 16/03/2020 12:41

I think they softened Fred over time

justthecat · 16/03/2020 14:46

Ashley looks about 12 !

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/03/2020 22:02

It’s strange watching these episodes to think that Fred and Norris became two of the show’s most popular characters! That’s why I always laugh when I see people on the Corrie Facebook page calling for new characters to be axed after a couple of episodes.

I love how they hinted the mystery royal is Princess Michael by saying Audrey is ‘just as pushy’ Grin

x2boys · 17/03/2020 08:03

Yes I thought Princess Michael @StillCoughingamdLaughing Grin

justthecat · 17/03/2020 15:32

Wow, look at all of the full shelves in the shop!

eggandonion · 17/03/2020 20:28

Alf wasn't a very good actor...

Dh is now hooked. Working from home.

x2boys · 18/03/2020 05:19

The storyline with Mavis and the Mile Muncher and wearing court shoes is hilarious her scenes with Derek and him asking her if she wore plimpsoles and being incredulous when she said she wore her court shoes really made me chuckle😂.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 18/03/2020 11:47

My recording device is playing silly beggars at the moment, and hasn't recorded the episodes from Monday and yesterday afternoon -or the 6am repeats either Angry!

Could someone kindly write me a quick synopsis of what I have missed, please?

My Saturday afternoon binge is in jeopardy Shock😭

x2boys · 18/03/2020 12:25

Steve is in a lot of Gambling debt and Sean Skinner is putting pressure on him to repay it
Sean Skinner made a pass at Liz and she declined so he told Des to sack her Des is refusing at the moment but Sean is putting pressure on him too
Alf was sick of Audrey and Betty arguing about the dinner with royalty thing so he sent them together and stayed at home
After a,lot of arguing with Derek and Mavis about the Mile muncher Norris has agreed on compensation but he doesn't know about the court shoes....
Vicky has left school Bet and Alec ,were not happy but after Bet spoke to Vicky,s Headmistress who said Vicky was,nt that academic they accepted it,I think that's the jist of it.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 18/03/2020 13:20

Oh, thanks so much, x2boys! I knew I could rely on you.

You're a proper star 😍

x2boys · 18/03/2020 15:00

Oh thank you ,it's all a blessed relief from this damn corona virus a,little escapism😂

CoolCarrie · 18/03/2020 15:09

What do Fiona and Steve see in each other? She is a torn faced misery and he is a wide boy. At least their daughter in the present Corrie is cheerful and pleasant unlike her parents.

thenightsky · 18/03/2020 19:31

I wondered that too. She always has a gormless look on her face, even when she's scowling. Actually, has she ever smiled?

x2boys · 18/03/2020 20:44

Oh gawd she's so shouty ,what exactly did she do to Steve,s hair to get a prize? it just looked a bit brushed forward to me ,I could get that for trying I sort my son,s unruly mop out every morning !

justthecat · 19/03/2020 15:25

Rag and bone in the ‘90’s ?🤔

eggandonion · 19/03/2020 16:41

The day we moved house in 1995 in Belfast we had a rag and bone man- we have a photo of our kids on the cart with our stereo! We thought it was very strange, I don't recall having seen him before. So unlikely but not impossible.

TheSquitz · 20/03/2020 15:00

Bet's hat is certainly very... striking Grin
