It's really cringey isn't it ?And they way Deirdre looks at him in adoration .

Redglitter · 26/02/2020 17:07

Things escalated quickly between Ken & Denise. One minute they're cuddling on the sofa next minute shes throwing him out, wants nothing to do with him & hates him.

No wonder the poor man is confused

Mammatino · 26/02/2020 17:08

I bet he's dynamite in bed 😁. I meant with the just getting fired for sexually harassing all those women. He used his power as supermarket high flyer (oh yes branch manager no less) to keep his assistant manager by his side (whilst pouncing). He's managed to manipulate Raquel on a date posing as his fiance through sympathy and he is about to pounce ninja curly style. Poor old curly though. She's going to say yes and she feels sorry for him... It will end in tears. I can't remember who called immigration what about Percy? It can't have been lovely Emily.

x2boys · 26/02/2020 18:21

Tracy maybe ,I thought immigration might have got wind of it because he was working cash in hand at the restaurant ,they investigating it a,few weeks ago and now all of a sudden he's married to a much older women ,it does look suspicious !

Mammatino · 26/02/2020 18:47

Good detective work. Yes possibly Tracy, she definately has it in her. It could be the boss from the restaurant who doesn't like his new wife. I love it when the Xmas episodes come around, I like to reminisce over crap decorations that we had.

x2boys · 26/02/2020 18:55

Ha ha we did have shit decorations in the 80,s and 90,s 😂

TheSquitz · 26/02/2020 18:56

Some of us still have those crap decorations 😛

x2boys · 26/02/2020 18:58

very true @TheSqitz I bet my mum and Dads tree must be nearly 30 years old🙄

HeartyGreenSalad · 26/02/2020 19:43

It could have been worse, Sarah Louise could have been playing the recorder Grin

DixieLandReject · 26/02/2020 23:36

I have the same fairy lights as Vera had in her window Smile

Mairyhinge · 27/02/2020 09:25

Best bit about the Xmas episodes are the presents they ask for.
No phones/ computers/ game consoles.
Sometimes wish technology hadn't pushed as forward as it has quite as quickly as it has.

x2boys · 27/02/2020 21:30

I'm a bit pissed off that Gail thinks Martin should,nt have to work Xmas because he's got kids Hmmi.was a nurse for years that argument never washed with childless staff ,looks like Curly,s heading for a fall...

Mammatino · 29/02/2020 12:03

I thought that, I always thought it was all hands to the pumps for the emergency services and not a 9 - 5 kinda scenario. Gail YABU. You're right I think Curly is really heading for a fall. I felt abit sorry for HIM, he just wants some one to love but Raquel loves Des Barnes. How bloody cheeky was deirdre? Yes Emily I miss your advice and friendship oh and I'm going to need a load more money.

x2boys · 29/02/2020 12:33

Well people do try and get Xmas day off if they have small kids and when I was young ,single and childless I didn't mind working Xmas day if I had new year off but it doesn't always work out that way and it's certainly not expected that only nurses with children will only ever have Xmas day off there would be outrage ,I know Deidre has lost all perspective .

CoolCarrie · 29/02/2020 22:18

Deidre is a cf at the moment, using Emily.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 01/03/2020 11:43

All I can remember about Curly and Raquel's marriage is that neither of them were ever happy.

He loved her to the moon and back, but she never loved him. She tied herself in knots trying to feel something real for him, but never quite managed it.

She just always felt sorry for him, and, if I remember correctly, ended up despising him (in a kind way, if that's possible) and they just made each other miserable.

It seemed to go on forever when it was first broadcast in the 90s. Poor Curly - I hope he's happy somewhere nowadays.

He should come and visit the Street (like Martin did a couple of years ago) It would be nice to find out what's been happening with him over the last 25 years.

TheSquitz · 01/03/2020 12:06

I remember Racquel crying in the toilet before her wedding. Didn't Curly end up marrying a policewoman? They moved away and had a baby (I think!). I'm sure Racquel returned one NYE and asked Curly for a divorce as she was marrying a French Count (as you do.) Her earlier lessons with Ken clearly paid off!

x2boys · 01/03/2020 12:31

Millennium eve ?? Yes it's such a shame she just doesn't love him just as Des just doesn't love her .

CoolCarrie · 02/03/2020 10:47

Spoiler alert

Raquel and Curly have a daughter Alice. Interesting to see if Kevin Kennedy would come back, maybe with daughter, Corrie could have a new girlfriend for Daniel perhaps.

Kannet · 02/03/2020 13:17

Did he ever do anything after Corrie

OP posts:
Patch23042 · 02/03/2020 14:18

I think that Kevin K struggled with alcoholism, sadly.

Can’t believe Gail’s demands! Hospital nurses can’t just assume that they have Christmas Day off because it suits. Reminds me of all the festive leave threads that start appearing on MN in October every year.

SapatSea · 02/03/2020 15:00

IIRC Raquel came back for an episode with a crap storyline that she had left to become a beautician somewhere exotic (Dubai/Qatar/Malaysia??) and was pregnant before she left and had come to ask for a divorce and tell Curly he had a 5 or 6 year old daughter. I'd be furious, consistent trope in soaps the long lost child/not told about child.

Lots of Corrie actors seem to struggle with alcohol in RL (Kev, Curly, Dev, Lloyd (+drugs) to name a few. KK does a lot of stage and musicals I think.

Oh Deirdre, you are all right, she has lost all perspective and has treated Emily shabbily. She was also really off with Liz who was trying to support her.

justthecat · 02/03/2020 15:45

Is it just me or does the nurse snogging Martin look a lot like Sarah Louise ?!

thenightsky · 02/03/2020 17:22

Yes. I thought that too.

x2boys · 02/03/2020 17:56

She does a bit, her acting is about as good as " Sarah-Louise " tooHmm
