The girl who played Sarah Louise quit at age 12 because she was being teased at school and because strangers were talking to her when she was out and about. How weird would you have to be as an adult to approach a child, albeit a famous one, in the street?! It’s probably odd enough being approached at 16+ but it must be really unnerving for a kid.

Sarah Louise was originally played jointly by that actress and her twin Leah, but Leah died. Lynne Petrie wrote about it in her autobiography and said that the cast and particularly Helen Worth were extremely upset.

I thought they replaced Sarah because they were going to run the pregnant at thirteen storyline and she definitely wasn't up to it. They replaced her with the current actress who was a very young looking seventeen year old.

Yes both Lyndsey and Leah king ( the original Sarah Louise) were premature I think Sarah Louise was too? Leah sadly died at a few weeks old but Lyndsay carried on playing her,maybe the actress did leave for teasing but it's odd they get rid of a lot of child actor,s around the same age ie when they are expected to actually act rather than say the odd word ,that rendition of away in a manger yesterday was painful

Yes Sarah’s singing was painful on the ears! The Christmas tree lights weren’t exactly dazzling either!

Away in a Manger was painful. They shouldn’t have made the child sing on tv (I say this as a poor singer myself).

I heard that the current Tracy actress had to reapply for the role of Tracy when she was in her 20s, but lost out to Kate Ford (who’s very good imo, not that I’ve watched it for ages).

That's awful about the Sarah-Lou actress and her sister. Feel like a right cow-bag now.

I can't help remembering curly manipulating all these women into situations where he can pounce. That aside he was lovely and made the others look like dinasaurs. I love Betty as Mayoress but I love Audrey getting her comeuppance more, selfish witch. I agree about the tone deaf child singing...muted.

I quite enjoyed Sarah-Louise singing . I know she was awful but as my one and only DD started secondary in September I no longer get the joy of the primary Christmas concert. The out of tune Away in a Manger made me feel all fuzzy and nostalgic.

How much longer until Samir’s exit? His painful acting and lack of chemistry with Deirdre is truly like nails down a blackboard.
