I watched all of Sundays results we normally Ff bits it had everything the rememberence dance which is always lovely, Luke Evans fiercely auditioning for Les Mis Grin and a conga what's not to like ☺

Samcro · 11/11/2019 10:02

glad Mike went. but boy he took in on the chin. loved the "happy dance' such a nice change.
I do hope Karim goes next.
I loved the Luke Evans bit. normally I hate the singers, but he was really good.

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2019 10:06

I adore Luke Evans was v excited he was on Johannnes and Amy in bare feet didn't put me off.

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2019 10:06

Watching it.

Herland · 11/11/2019 10:12

Thanks for the you tube clip. I am pretty neutral to Michelle tbh but I didn't perceive any arrogance in that interview at all. She's a confident, older women who's probably learned that faux, coy, self-deprecation is a waste of her time. I know I have.

I know she's not popular on here (which is a bit strange) but we are voting for AJ and Saffron. Mostly because my 5 year old is madly in love with AJ. I keep forgetting that Saffron is a baby.

ElspethFlashman · 11/11/2019 10:13

Why do wardrobe hate Michelle so much though? Why????! Even my DH said "that dress is hideous" and he was sitting there in a T shirt probably from the last century.

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2019 10:18

I think it was supposed to highlight her bottom half and it was meant to be 1950s US house wife I think it was fine.

SoupDragon · 11/11/2019 10:21

She's a confident, older woman

Yes. And she's American and, as a sweeping generalisation, they always come over as super confident to the British who are more self depreciating as a rule.

Obviously not true for all Americans or Brits :o

Herland · 11/11/2019 10:22

The housecoat dress was pretty dire.

However that half leather top thing she had on on ITT was gorge.

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2019 10:25

I quite like her outfits Blush

Herland · 11/11/2019 10:27

True @SoupDragon. I think I personally just find her a bit earnest rather than arrogant and I think that is perhaps a US thing that has spread to the UK via TV talent shows. Our shows used to be a laugh... With folk like Mike just there for the experience and a bit of fun. Now it's all life or death and sad vts. I swear I nearly threw something at the telly last night when Emma started on about her grandparents. I'm not devoid of empathy but ffs. "My grandpa died when I was 6" was a bit much. Why? Sad face vts never make the person more popular.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 11/11/2019 10:31

I wasn't a fan of Saffron's dress either, to be honest. It looked too old for her and made her look narrowly, which is a shame because I think she has a really nice figure. DS liked the dress, he's the same age as Saffron so maybe I'm looking at it from the wrong demographic and I think DS has a crush on her

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 11/11/2019 10:31

Matronly, not narrowly. Blinking autocorrect.

Herland · 11/11/2019 10:36

I do think they make Saffron look older than her age. She's only 19.

Theromanempire · 11/11/2019 10:40

So, now that Katya has gone, I believe we are guaranteed a new pro winner Smile

I think that either Gio or Oti deserve it as they have both been robbed in broad daylight before #dannywuzrobbed #fayewuzrobbed GrinGrin

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2019 10:41

The VTs are ridiculous my granddad died my parents loved me just shush Emma. But it isn't just her tbf but inventing some sort of hardship sob story where there is none is bloody irritating.

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2019 10:43

I thought Saffrons dress was horrible I hate the skin tone background but my Dd also liked it so what do I know Grin

Samcro · 11/11/2019 10:46

i liked Safrons dress(not her just the dress)
I also like Michelle, at least she doesn't pretend to be a beginner.

SureTry · 11/11/2019 11:01

I think Michelle's dress was a bit ill-fitting like it was missing something.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/11/2019 11:10

Hated Saffron's dress.

Hated Michelle's dress

Thought Mike was relieved to leave.

Encyclo · 11/11/2019 11:18

@SoupDragon Michelle's dance wasn't a crowd pleaser - ugly dress & styling, odd theme, no big U.K. fan base. I think the same dance done with a wafty dress and no "cock lodger" theming would have seen her straight through.

I completely agree with this

NormaBean · 11/11/2019 11:26

she says one thing about her technique being pushed further than others about half way through, and then says the thing about us seeing her doing a level of posture that hasn't been seen on Strictly before at about the 5:50 mark

It sounded like she was just repeating what Gio has told her. Not arrogance at all.

Michelle for the win!

ElspethFlashman · 11/11/2019 11:32

The family VTs are so cringe this year.

Chris' one: "I used to have spots as a teenager but now I have a lovely family......its been such an emotional jurneee". It's wierd cos his wife has been really open about their miscarriage last year in an admirable effort to normalise/boost awareness and so if they're going for heart tugging, you'd wonder why they shied away from that.

Over on DWTS James VDB has talked about it a lot apparently as they just found out they were expecting again and let the cameras into the scan knowing full well it could be their 4th (!!!) loss, as they want to show how common miscarriage is. Happily it was viable.

Anyway, just musing about it. Perhaps Chris just didn't want to get too heavy
which is fair enough.

IslaMann · 11/11/2019 12:02

I think Chris' spots thing was a piss take.

Mrsjayy · 11/11/2019 13:06

Chris was taking the piss on his VT his tongue was firmly in his cheek !
