Equal measures of heh ! then awe at the eloquence of some of these children and wow at their baking skills. Puts my baking skills to shame Smile

They are incredible! That rainforest cake was amazing.

Alexis21 · 04/11/2019 18:46

I was a bit yuck and heh at the cake with the brains on top !

They were so calm and resilient when things went wrong - that impressed me as much as their baking.

CoolShoeshine · 04/11/2019 22:11

My favourite bit was when the little ginger lad asked the girl if she’d remembered to grease her baking trays, sending her into a panic because she hadn’t. As soon as he’d turned away he gave out a cheeky cackle of laughter! You wouldn’t get anything that unsubtle on the regular bake off Grin

LaBelleSauvage123 · 05/11/2019 11:37

He was also really kind when the girl who was upset when her cake broke got good comments - and he’s got amazing eyes!

Graphista · 07/11/2019 02:06

Just watching now I had never heard of English madeleines either and I'm surprised they're called madeleines there are a few similar cakes I can think of.

Felt so sorry for the lad who dropped his cakes!

lynsey91 · 07/11/2019 16:35

I am amazed at some of their baking. If I could bake half as well as some of them I would be happy.

I really like Liam as one of the judges.

Halsall · 07/11/2019 17:50

The contestants are highly entertaining and I love their self-possession. They're incredibly talented, too.

jay55 · 08/11/2019 13:05

Loved bread week/day without everyone bowing and scraping to Paul.

The Challah bread looked amazing. Shame the book sculpture wasn't much of a sculpture as I thought she could have had star baker.

The technicals have been so much better challenges than the adult version last series.

Bluntness100 · 08/11/2019 13:07

They cry much less than the adults do to be honest.,,🤣

ThatsMeInTheSpotlight · 09/11/2019 12:40

They're amazing. I keep hoping they'll inspire DS Grin
I usually dislike Harry Hill but I think he's very good with the DCs.

Alexis21 · 09/11/2019 12:54

Harry Hill and in fact all the presenters are much nicer than the adult version presenters. The children are great !

I am definitely preferring junior bake off to normal bake off now. Back to technicals about actual baking and these kids are incredibly talented, loving it.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 09/11/2019 21:31

Absolutely agree. Am enjoying this so much more than the adult version - the judging is kind and constructive, the challenges more realistic and interesting and the contestants are just lovely - supportive of each other, resilient, funny and natural.

SpiderCharlotte · 13/11/2019 19:59

I'm loving this, what a lovely bunch of children. I hate it when one of them has to leave though!

LaBelleSauvage123 · 13/11/2019 22:48

They are all so kind to one another - I loved it when Fin was trying to console Sam about his collapsed cake.

megletthesecond · 13/11/2019 22:51

Ah, we missed it tonight. Will catch up later in the week.

Last week's brain cake was Shock.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/11/2019 17:10

First time I've watched it. The kids manage the stress without any of the adults dramatics.

Redglitter · 20/11/2019 01:55

Loving this series. The kids baking skills are amazing.

Who on earth picked Harry Hill as host though. Hes dreadful!! The kids have no idea what the hell hes talking about most of the time and hes must cringe worthy

Love how everyone pitches in if someones struggling to finish

ppeatfruit · 20/11/2019 09:45

It's good though to be fair some of the contestants are not THAT young. Grin Does anyone know why poor Prue is on crutches? I've only started watching recently.

DesdamonasHandkerchief · 20/11/2019 16:07

I'm loving Harry Hill as host but finding Liam irritating as a judge. But then it is aimed at children so I'm not the target market.

Greenteandchives · 20/11/2019 18:59

ppeat Prue is on crutches as a result of an accident when filming GBBO. I think it was when she was dressed up as the Cowardly Lion, and tripped up.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 20/11/2019 23:01

I thought she said something like ‘I tried to jump and when you’re my age that’s not a good idea’ ?

LaBelleSauvage123 · 20/11/2019 23:02

Gosh Eliza is a good baker!

midsomermurderess · 21/11/2019 00:00

I think the kids not knowing what Harry Hill is on about is kind of the point. It's knowing and aimed at us, the adults. I think he's great on it and am so impressed with the children. Liam seems much less determinedly wacky than when he was a contestant.
