Equal measures of heh ! then awe at the eloquence of some of these children and wow at their baking skills. Puts my baking skills to shame Smile

Definitely a deserved winner - I called it in day 1! Seems like a lovely lad too.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 29/01/2021 21:53

The final was one of the best things I’ve watched for ages. Completely agree with you Viques about the competitors. Robbie at the end brought a tear to my eye.

Ellmau · 30/01/2021 01:38

Reece was a worthy winner. His showstopper cake looked fantastic.

KatieKat88 · 30/01/2021 04:53

Such lovely kids - I got a bit teary at the end too! Hope that my DD is as nice as they are when she's their age. And all so talented! Right winner but they were all so fab. I'm a bit gutted it's over.

@viques

I think that was the right choice, he has been incredible from day 1.

They have all been such lovely competitors . Honestly , if they are representative of their generation we don’t have much to worry about.

Thank you all JBO bakers, you have been entertaining, talented, funny, supportive of each other, kind and awe inspiring.

I agree, anyone who badmouths teenage kids (the sort that say ‘all teenage kids are awful’), should watch this series.

Almost at the final episode but wondered what people feel about Harry Hill - creeps me out a little, some of the things he says and he's not funny whatsoever. I've really cringed a few times, and I'm sure some of the kids have found him very irritating judging by their facial expressions and responses to him.

My two favourites - Naima is absolutely adorable - sassy, bright and so sweet; and Robbie - what a great personality - I hope that takes him far in life.

Toddlerteaplease · 31/01/2021 20:15

Lovely bunch of children and teenagers. I enjoyed the more classic baked rather than the bizarre really tricky stuff the adults do.

Jourdain11 · 31/01/2021 20:59

I loved Robbie when he said, "fantastic" after getting some less than glowing feedback and then he was like, "sorry, sorry, I don't know why I said fantastic... fantastic!"

i'm the same as you re favourites.

Reece was a worthy winner though!

They're all such nice kids/teenagers.

I really had to check myself when watching CeCe, Saffiyah and Robbie - as they're all teenagers and you kind of expect them to be more mature but then you really do have to remember that they're teenagers/children!

I really do think Naima is a little star and she'll either be snapped up to present TV or something or write a book - I'd buy it.

Robbie is such a sweet young man - his parents and family have brought him up so well - he's got that cute teenager look but such a nice character, bless him!

longtompot · 03/02/2021 15:30

The right one won, but I did hope Robbie might do it. I said to my ed that I'd miss his Bristolian accent every day. He was so upbeat and positive. Just a lovely, lovely boy. I bet his parents are proud of him.
Tbh the parents of all the kids should be proud. Loved this series much more than the adult one, especially the recent one.

Anne1958 · 03/02/2021 16:59

I thought Harry Hill was very inappropriate at times and not very funny at all in the main.

Perhaps it’s time for a change of presenter.

ScienceSensibility · 06/02/2021 02:31

I totally agree about Harry Hill. How in God’s name did he get this gig?

He made me cringe on many an occasion and I did not enjoy the double entendres and innuendos. The episode with the poo emoji was absolutely awful.

I would love to see someone like Liza Tarbuck present this. Warm, funny, female (!) and more appropriate. She seems to be constantly overlooked for this sort of gig.

Talking about inappropriate presenters, can we get rid of that Colin chap whose taken over from Nick Hewer on Countdown.
Fucking nightmare who never shuts up. Ruins the gentle ambience of the show.
