Hello all! Mallorca lovely. Private, it is a private road to Rafa’s wedding venue, but you can hike there to the restaurant. It’s a couple of hours and we didn’t do it, lightweights that we are!
We are going to the tournament today but Murray is playing tomorrow - boo! Def. going to museum - well you would wouldn’t you?

I think I’ll give the couple of hours hike a miss (I’m also a lightweight!) we went for a “walk” yesterday in the 30 degree heat and I’m still recovering. It was supposed by be 5 miles but I think it was more!

I’m hoping for a nice relaxing day today hopefully with a bit of tennis later

Fizzy - we are off to Manacor! Had to rouse the teenager who is not a tennis fan. Her dad will take her to the beach and DD1 and I will be tennisy.
We did play tennis at the Palma tennis club as my DH has a friend from work who lives here now and we met there. His partner is Mallorcan so we talked Rafa a bit (being at a tennis club and all). It is like 3 degrees of separation, he is related to everyone in Manacor and everyone on the island knows his physio or his coaches’ wife. - that sort of thing!

Ooh sounds exciting Adelie - we’re in Mallorca from Friday so hoping to be able to get to the tournament. I think I’ve managed to get DS1 on board.

Well, I am soooo tired- for the last week, I have been barely able to stay awake.

So, I am currently score watching , because I'm having problems getting Prime to work (surprise!)

First thing I see- Ash Barty has lost her first set 1-6.

DS set me up this afternoon on the Amazon Prime 30 day free trial. Am now watching the US Open probably for the first time, certainly the first time live.

Currently watching Evans on court 10, so no commentary. Quite refreshing not having some f#wit waffling on about nothing in particular in the background. Butterflies, for example. Although I doubt there are many cabbage whites at Flushing Meadows

Mallorca seems to be a popular destination. Have fun to those that are there now and in the forseeable future

I have to say, Kazza watching without commentary is quite refreshing, and you get used to it very quickly.

I see Murray lost 3 points in his win against a Manacor trainee today. Don't know if any were double faults

kazza if I had to guess the player who you'd watch in your first time viewing the US Open live on TV, I'd have put my house on Dan Evans

I did enjoy the Spider man film- and I had only watched half of a previous Marvel film , prior to that (fell asleep during Avengers Infinity War).

Yes me too - I quite like Avengers but Spidey rules IMHO - Far From Home was a bit like an 80s teen movie (with added super villains).

It was great, I surprised myself by how much I enjoyed it really. I agree it had an 80's brat pack feel to it.

Just seen that Berdych's good run at the US open last year won't be repeated. He's been beaten by an 18 year old American player.

And I noticed when I looked at the rankings site I use, that sadly Delpo will end up up somewhere in the late 60's after the tournament. (The live ranking has him at 67, as they take off last years points early).

And Kerber is out! She is another player who I really like, but seems to be very inconsistent with her results.

I'm just hoping Halep wins her first match . She has a terrible time in Flushing Meadows.

I agree about Berdych. I thought he had a back injury - I can't remember the last time I saw him play tbh (although I do remember his surprise run last year!). Didn't Rafa beat him in NY?

I'm surprised at Kerber, she is such a great player on her day but then she seems to have these blips. I don't know if it's injury or not?

Ah that's rough on Delpo. So many points to defend at this time of the season. Hopefully he can build back up quickly.
