Looks like we have two months to catch this on ITV Hub before they disappear again.

May I suggest that we start each post in bold with the episode being discussed? Like, Episode 1 ? And try to discuss episodes at a similar rate, so we're not discussing episode 10 within the first 20 posts?

Yes that's the one, was just about to link to it. So funny that there were 28 threads for series 5 and only 36 pages for series 2.

ClubSandwich · 08/08/2019 10:38

@minou123 thanks! Crazy how many threads there were for S5 compared to S2!

Glitterfisher · 08/08/2019 11:29

I actually thought the S2 thread was much better, I feel people have generally become much nastier about the islanders and most of the S5 threads were saying vile stuff about one or two of them in particular. It is easy to get caught up in that kind of mass online bullying, I know i was drawn in at times in particular about Anna.

It is interesting as the documentary on Jade Goody started last night and it really made me think about how vulnerable some of these people really are and how the press/public are so awful towards them.

minou123 · 08/08/2019 16:48

I think the reason there weren't many threads for s2 was because love island was still so new and unknown even though there was s1 and a celebrity version previously. I didnt start watching until s3, but s1 and s2 were on Netflix and I was watching 2 seasons at the same time Grin

minou123 · 08/08/2019 16:49

Forgot to add, reading the old thread, I found it quite funny how a poster said that both nathan and alex would dump cara and olivia and enjoy single life.......little did they know they would go on to marry and gave a baby!

Glitterfisher · 08/08/2019 18:15

minou123 - yes I thought that was funny too, SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE STILL WATCHING I felt that by the end Nathan & Cara and Alex & Olivia were definitely the 2 most real couples, there were actually a few who lasted a while on the outside actually from S2. Oliva and Alex were the 1st LI couple to get married I think. I purposely didn't google who was still together till after as I didn't want to spoil it ha ha.

minou123 · 08/08/2019 18:35

Sorry, I should have put SPOILER ALERT in my post Blush

So again SPOILER ALERT, - nathan and cara had a baby first, then Olivia and Alex got married and I think nathan and cara got married next. From reading the trash mags, cara and Olivia were best friends. Cara was meant to be bridesmaid for olivia, but they fell out massively. Cara says she found it difficult to be bm because she just had a baby, but Olivia has said that cara wasnt interested and couldnt be bothered.

I realise, I may need to stop reading these things and perhaps, get a life! I will fully admit to buying Hello magazine to see olivia and Alex wedding photos!:Grin

Glitterfisher · 08/08/2019 18:39

I do admit to doing A LOT of googling after watching the series, I am an old romantic so think it is lovely they have stayed together, especially as most people (including me) thought Alex would never be tamed Grin

Lilyofthefields · 09/08/2019 09:06

I'm on episode 10 with the clay willy competition. You can't imagine that happening now the programme has gone mainstream. Also, all the drunken conversations.

I find Sophie and Tom difficult viewing and I'm wondering if I want to stop watching really. (Zara is also difficult to watch, for very different reasons. She's quite loud and intense).

The girls look fabulous - more natural, their clothes are a lot more varied. The boys are behaving so neurotic though.

I couldn’t watch anymore season 1 - really couldn’t warm to anyone, found them all equally as unlikeable and really struggled to get into it. Giving season 3 a bash - just started episode 1!

Glitterfisher · 09/08/2019 15:21

I loved the clay willy challenge, so funny. In S5 I don't think most would know their partners willy but by episode 2 they all knew let alone episode 10 Grin

Lilyofthefields · 10/08/2019 08:08

Episode 15 Wow! Olivia is a master game player. I did not see that coming... poor Zara and Adam, played.

OP posts:
Glitterfisher · 10/08/2019 14:35

Yeah, I do feel maybe she was clutching at straws though and maybe hoping she would like him. She acted like an idiot though but I guess it's a game after all.

Lilyofthefields · 11/08/2019 11:13

Episode 19 poor Zara, can't believe a) how the villa are treating her and b) that it was showed on tv. Once again, I'm now actually grateful for our more produced versions.

Sophie and Adam coming across well. Cady and Olivia... not so much.

OP posts:
socksforfox · 11/08/2019 12:48

I can't remember Olivia doing anything wrong?

Lilyofthefields · 11/08/2019 14:52

She's going around telling people that Zara's behaviour was 'slaggy' and she has no respect for herself whilst at the same time, a) telling Zara that she would never judge her and nobody is judging her and b) forgetting about her own sex with Ryk who was with Rachel.

OP posts:
Lilyofthefields · 12/08/2019 18:01

Episode 22

Olivia and Cady in the hideaway. Unbelievable. Once again I can't believe the behaviour or that it was shown.

(Also love how, on the orginal thread, posters complain that they're bored. They don't know they're born!).

OP posts:
Glitterfisher · 12/08/2019 18:04

It was crazy wasn't it, Cady was awful in that episode. Felt so sorry for the girl he was on the date with

minou123 · 12/08/2019 18:09

Lilyofthefields you're up to that episode!

I remember watching that episode and thinking 'WTF'. have you got the aftermath?

laylabella · 12/08/2019 21:16

I remember that episode was great TV but yes did feel sorry for Tina after Kady called her the C word Shock the whole scenario was quite funny her and Olivia with those face masks on freaking out about the boys

Lilyofthefields · 12/08/2019 21:27

Cady is so awful, I am fascinated by her process. How did she get so unashamedly unkind?

Adam's going down in my estimation, he's being all billy big bananas over Tina and Lianna(?).

It's hard to know how objective I can be but I really like Sophie.

OP posts:
laylabella · 12/08/2019 21:47

I really didn't like Kady at all. Usually I change my mind on people on reality shows but my instinct with her always stayed the same. I saw her on the Your Face Or Mine with her BF from TOWIE and she was being so smug on that too

I really liked Sophie I felt really sorry for her the girls really isolated her at some points. I like Liana as well I don't know whether you have come to the bit when her and Adam argue and he's eating a snack a jack lol

Glitterfisher · 12/08/2019 22:18

I did like Sophie but felt she behaved badly at the end, I do think she seemed the most genuine person in there though. I just wish she had couple up with someone other than Tom though, he was awful.

Lilyofthefields · 13/08/2019 08:01

Just seen the snack-a-jack argument. I really don't like Adam now. What a pompous idiot. (I thought Liana could have argued far stronger though, shouting and effing wasn't very effective).

OP posts:
Lilyofthefields · 13/08/2019 08:01

I just wish she had couple up with someone other than Tom though,

Absolutely this.
