Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

Interesting Mantovani music when Michael contemplates that remark.

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:06

What's up with Marsha? She hasn't noticed Donna in the old video shop - where are blockbusters these days? Gone forever, I suppose.

Ilovelblue · 24/09/2019 21:06

How Donna is maturing if she is thinking about a job.

Why is Michael in his No 1 dress uniform and the colonel is in his thick jumper? How does it work?

Jeremy is about to set up a Pygmalion-like bet with his brother officer and like a sucker he accepts - yes Tucker has to pass himself off as....an OFFICER!

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:09

Me thinks that Michael is suffering from PTSD - flashbacks to Bosnia.

eejittwo · 24/09/2019 21:09

Michael having Bosnian flashbacks?

Ilovelblue · 24/09/2019 21:10

If he was going to choose anyone to impersonate an officer, you just knew he would go for Tucker! Oh dear! I foresee problems ahead.

Jeremy is a bit wet behind the ears but his fellow lieutenant is a smug so and so.

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 24/09/2019 21:11

Methinks there could be the start of PTSD here with Michael which probably dates back to their tour of Bosnia.

Donna's mind is being opened to all sorts of possibilities. She doesn't just think differently, she dresses differently too. There is real character development here and it's nice to see, but they've had four series to do it and lots of episodes.

Does anyone think this change of character in Michael seems a bit sudden - he was fine in Cyprus.

eejittwo · 24/09/2019 21:14

Permission to be ignorant!

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:15

This is so wrong of Jeremy and his mate - they will get Tucker into trouble and should know better.

"Permission to be ignorant" - "Permission granted" Grin

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:16

...and you get to call him "Jeremy" - ha ha.

Oh well done Tucker, get what you can out of it.

Ilovelblue · 24/09/2019 21:17

Yes, it does seem a bit sudden Rhu, I agree. Michael is going to flip before long at this rate.

Meanwhile, back in the toilets, Jeremy and his oppo approach Tucker about being passed off as an officer.

Oh my goodness...Joy is auditioning for Pygmalion - how appropriate - they don't just throw this stuff together do they!

Ilovelblue · 24/09/2019 21:19

You just know Tucker impersonating an officer is going to end in tears.

You have to hand it to Tucker though, he's going to milk it for all it's worth.

Very irresponsible of the two officers though. I hope they get into trouble for it by the end.

So, Marsha is confiding in the doctor - or as I like to call him - Callum Buchanan!

Ilovelblue · 24/09/2019 21:19

I do like the doctor. He seems such a decent and dependable sort.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:20

Sorry, but Michael did seem fine in Cyprus apart from being cross with the other sergeant out there.

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:21

Tucker does look smart.

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:23

Tucker is so funny - love it...

eejittwo · 24/09/2019 21:23

Love Tucker’s panto outfit.
David Ponsonby!

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:24

So the Colonel's daughter is struggling at school and feeling the pressure. You'd find it difficult to cheat these days - they are very strict.

Ilovelblue · 24/09/2019 21:25

If I had to think of a surname quickly, I doubt it would be Ponsonby. Love it!

Dave is really playing to the audience now - serves Jeremy right for putting him up to it.

Rhubarb01 · 24/09/2019 21:26

White socks....as if!
