I did a bit of googling about Dogs and he hasn't played much in the last couple of years, has he? Such a shame. He really was pretty good.
What I saw of Kenin, I liked- she has a lot of power. She wasn't intimidated- but why should she be? It's one thing not to be intimidated by a player's skill and experience for example (like Stefanos, against Federer in melbourne) it's another not to be cowed by the presence of a player's entourage and the bullies in the crowd. .

She seemed to hold her own. But she did look very emotional at the end, and she just wanted to get off the court.

Definitely best to have sound off during a Williams match.

I ought to have done that. better for the blood pressure.

I am just delighted that Serena is out.

I've just read that Thiem was made leave his press conference early , because Serena didn't want to hang around. FFS. And some journo on Twitter thinks this is 'small victory for feminism'. Im hoping he's joking- because no, it's just rude and entitled.

I've just seen that Konta is scheduled at the same (more or less) as Federer.

Stan and Stefanos are, of course, due on at around the same time as Rafa- ish. All depends on the length of the Fed match.

A bit of a quandary for ITV

Now, really (not that I'm a fan)- they ought to show Jo- not because she's British, but because as usual, if you prefer watching the women, there has been an imbalance in what has been shown. Not their fault- the women's matches will tend to be shorter when they are best of 3 against best of 5. So, they switch to a men's match when the women finish.

It's also pretty sad that the court is so empty watching this match here. Vondrousova is the 12th seed.
By contrast, Foggy is the men's 12th seed- I can imagine one of his matches would be far better attended. (Not that he's a fan of early mornings).

Vondrousova is having an excellent year.

It sounds like pesky scheduling today, yes that's going to be a dilemma for the broadcasters isn't it, if Fed and Jo play at the same time? Because they should show Jo. Especially as she has a real chance to go through.

Tomorrow's men's matches look great, all of them (now expect them all to be total duds )

It will be interesting to see what ITV do with the scheduling but frankly, if I can only see one match today, I want it to be Stan vs Stefanos because I like them both and their style of play but also, it will probably be the most competitive (fingers crossed!). I do not need to see Rog win in three sets or Konta and her bloody service action

Haven’t yet worked out if I’m going to be able to watch any tennis - the various permutations are confusing me or maybe that’s the gin and tonic (we are 2 hours in front here!)

We have strange weather here. Very humid but impossible to leave a window open because it's so windy.

It's a heart over head match, the Stan and Stefanos one, I want Stan to win, in my heart, but I like Stef a lot, and think (as I said yesterday) he might just have the better chance as the tournament goes on.

But Stan is looking good- and has nothing to lose, really- so he could unleash the Beast, and prove everyone wrong.
