Please could the scriptwriters arrange for Essie to resign to spend time with the baby or getting treatment or something - I'm finding her story irritating me rather than arousing my sympathy. (Note to scriptwriters : this could be achieved very quickly, since we're all aware no notice is required at Holby City Hospital.)

Totally. She's so one dimensional. Scowls and sharp words and that's it. The bit at the end at AA with Self wasn't going to convince anyone she's just a poor lost soul.

I thought he l(Ramin) looked pale. In fact I had to look twice to see if it was actually him before he spoke but I cant say he looked disheveled.

I had no idea Ramin was as talented as he is.

Just watching it now. Why can I not feel any sympathy for Essie? What is wrong with me? I was teary when I caught the end of Our Girl last night when I was channel hopping and I don't even watch it any more ffs!
