That last thread filled up quickly! Here's a new one for us.

As a PP said, I can't quite forget how vile Dom was to Malik in the early days, so his rehabilitation has never made me warm to him. It looks as though his troubles aren't over, though. Carol to the rescue?

I don't know Dom from the stuff with Malik, so only really know him from Arthur was around. I think he's always been a bit damaged - maybe the relationship with Brian, his sexuality etc.
Then the Arsaac stuff, just reinforced everything he's always believed about himself, his worthlessness.

Agree he treats Lofty abysmally. I think he has enjoyed finally not being the one who is put down by everyone - which doesn't excuse him - i think he needs therapy - but it's like the bullied kid who finally has a smaller kid to pick on and finally feels powerful.

He has no real friends these days - Arthur, Morven, Zosia. Even his budding friendship with Chloe. He has his two Mums and his two Dads but really, no one on his side.

Dom has HH and Sacha on his side, for now. I'm fed up with Holby dragging up old story lines again.

I don't remember that idiot selling the machine to Jac being in Holby before. I too laughed at her making a snap decision to buy....like in the NHS it wouldn't take loads of meetings and more than one person to sign that off.

There is far too much of Dom and Ange at the moment. Where is Serena? and Fletch just seems to pop up for a couple of minutes in each episode as the ward baffoon and make an idiot of himself.

Dom has HH and Sacha on his side, for now that's what I meant by his two Dads.

It was the Christmas episode, he was drunk and an elf, Jac was in yet again for something and Fletch put the elf next to her on the ward.

Oh I see! it was nice to see a bit of HH at least this week.

So, someone employed as an elf then ends up selling sophisticated medical equipment within a few months? ok Holby, that so happens.

What did you folk think of Chloe's ex-boyfriend? Is he manipulating the situation or genuinely wants to help her?

Report
SleepingStandingUp · 23/05/2019 16:40

Oh he is such a manipulative creep. He totally sent that email knowing the blow up would tear her and Mummy apart and then he could sweep in and rescue her. I'm sure he thinks he loves her but it's not the kind of love you actually want is it.

He's a manipulative little shit!!!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 23/05/2019 18:55

He wants her isolated and wants her mentally unwell so that he can exert complete control over her.

Just caught up with Tuesday’s episode and I got so confused with the back and forth of time...

Didn’t Dom think it weird that a week after Isaac had made him promise to never turn a family member away that his dad then appears on the ward?!

I hope Dom does report Isaac for the opiate issue just to prove that he’s strong enough to stand up to Isaac and can’t be to manipulated anymore.

It also annoyed me that Dom called Carol “mum” so easily after making a big song and dance for the last few weeks that she isn’t his mum and either ignoring her or calling her by her name instead.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/05/2019 08:09

Now the mum thing didn't annoy me; I though it was well done to show what Ange had been telling him - that Carole is the one who's done all the mothering and caring, and it was interesting to see that under real stress Dom reverted to it quite automatically, showing that subconsciously he knows that too.

Yup that's how I read it, that him being vulnerable rather than angry made her back to Mum because he needs Mum not Carole.

Re opiates. Surely if Dom doesn't report it he could get in trouble and be blamed for them? I think there's a part of him that knows Isaac was setting it up but in his ignoring the obvious, had put it down to his dad was already ill so he was checking he could come. Hopefully something will come out and he'll go back to jail.

The MotG guy looks different somehow. Has he had his face done or something?

Also what was on Dom's chest, or do I need to wait til the end of the episode to find out?

Isaac needs to go. I am fed up of his cruelty. someone needs to get rid of him for good.

WidowTwonky · 29/05/2019 01:11

It’s obvious that Isaac will manipulate lofty into sleeping with him, to get to Dom. I can’t be bothered watching as it’s uncomfortable viewing and not entertaining.
Let me know when Isaac has gone please and I’ll turn it back on

There is not a single story line that I like in Holby right now.

Isaac - been there, done it before. Dom and his followers know perfectly well what is going on and yet no-one is putting a stop to it.

Sacha and Patricia - no chemistry there, so much angst at the start of a relationship, just don't bother.

Essie can't have a baby/adoption story yet again....stero-type drag queen just so happens to work for the adoption agency she is using..yeah right.

That complete tool Ken and Jac…..as if.

Ange and Fletch, nope doesn't feel right. Fletch needs to look outside of the hospital for a new mum for his kids. Abi, Jac and now Ange....who has just been thrown in as a consolation shag after he couldn't have Jac. Fletch is starting to look like the ward pest around women now.

Another stero-type arrogant consultant in the new bloke whose name escapes me, been there done that so many times before.

Donna was the only one with any sense last night. Where is Serena? Where is Nicky?

Holby is the last of the soaps that I now watch and I don't know how much longer I can go on with it.

I’ve given up, haven’t watched last two weeks as just don’t like any of the characters they are focusing on at present. Isaac coming back has put the tin lid on it.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 29/05/2019 12:22

It's a shame because the actor playing Isaac is a fantastic actor and he plays the role so well. But it's bizarre that everyone would be so sucked back in to his mind games.

QueenofmyPrinces · 29/05/2019 12:23

Just caught up..

The episode was just so odd. Surely in real life Lofty would hate Isaac? Not be having heart-to-hearts with him on the stairs? And surely it would be bloody obvious that Isaac was the one who messed around with the insulin pump!!

And as if Lofty would punch Dom?!
Ridiculous!

It’s all just getting a bit silly.

Report
TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 29/05/2019 13:03

I thought that about the hating Isaac.

What I did think was well done was Dom's genuine shock and immediate apology when he accidentally hit Lofty. I was worried, after last week when he grabbed him, that they were going to go down the "abused becomes abuser" route, but Dom was genuinely horrified by what he'd done. It of course makes Lofty's instinctive retaliation look even worse, but does give us some reason for Dom's confusion - in his mind, he's now wondering if that's all he deserves from anyone: to be hit.

Yep I gave up last week too, let me know when it’s safe to go back and we have a new and original and interesting plot. Glitterball

Am I expecting too much, It’s also the last soap I watch.

In Fletch' defense Angie is def the one who's about to do the pouncing.

Lofty is totally incongruous, either he's so pathetic and wet that he can't not simper at anyone who is nice to him, or he's a total twot

RCBadger · 29/05/2019 21:35

I remembered him after she ordered him "Don't touch me" when he tried to put his arm around her. The same thing happened in the Christmas episode.

Next weeks episode sounds even worse. According to Digital Spy 'Dom and Issac grow closer'.
The show is getting crap, I'm only watching it out of loyality ATM.
