That last thread filled up quickly! Here's a new one for us.

As a PP said, I can't quite forget how vile Dom was to Malik in the early days, so his rehabilitation has never made me warm to him. It looks as though his troubles aren't over, though. Carol to the rescue?

I like Xav. I wNt him and Donna to get married (not outside the hospital) and have babies that he can baby wear to work😍

MaxPaddyandHarry · 30/01/2020 11:03

I hope Sascha finds someone lovely to give the eternity ring to.

MyOtherProfile · 30/01/2020 12:30

Good point about her being Sasha's aunt. Presumably by marriage?

SleepingStandingUp · 31/01/2020 00:52

Isn't she his great aunt so it's her parents generation where the link is?

SoupDragon · 31/01/2020 07:52

I think a sibling of Maria (or her husband) has to be Sacha's grandparent for her to be a great aunt. I always got the impression she was a blood relative rather than "by marriage" though.

There may be been a sibling who escaped in that initial running scene though.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/01/2020 13:34

I would have thought she's Sacha's aunt rather than great-aunt. He's about 50? I watched The Windermere Children on Holocaust Day - it included catch-up with some of the featured boys who are now elderly men (and would have probably been around the same age as Maria). Most talked about their children and grandchildren, so would assume the latter have not yet reached the age to have families of their own.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/01/2020 13:38

I would somehow think that because of the traumas they experienced during WW2 in the concentration camps, and then getting their lives back on track in the immediate post-war years, they may have been later to marry than was average for their generation?

SoupDragon · 31/01/2020 13:40

They called her both Aunt Maria and "Sascha's Great Aunt".

Optimist1 · 31/01/2020 18:53

Yes, that's what I heard, SoupDragon - and personally we always called our great aunts and uncles just "aunt" and "uncle".

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 05/02/2020 17:48

Maybe she was his Aunt but they all think she's really good....Grin

On a slightly more serious note no it doesn't make sense if her only sister died Hmm

spiderlight · 05/02/2020 18:51

Was it not on last night?

SoupDragon · 05/02/2020 19:40

No, there was football on. Holby is on tonight at 8

MyOtherProfile · 05/02/2020 20:39

Who was the important patient Sasha lost a year and a half ago? I feel like I should know this...

Elderflower14 · 05/02/2020 20:59

Has she sold the necklace?

Elderflower14 · 05/02/2020 21:01

Aha! Thats answered that...! Evil cow!
I loved Sasha and Rick on the roof!

SoupDragon · 05/02/2020 21:21

The patient who died 18 months ago was a young guy with Crohns (I think). They had got close on his many admissions.

PlomBear · 05/02/2020 21:51

Why would Niki not go to the police if she’s being blackmailed?
Donna doing nails on the ward and swanning around trying to become a model.
A ball in the hospital?

Oh God it’s so ridiculous!

Elderflower14 · 05/02/2020 22:43

@PlomBear she won't go to the police because it will drop her Mum into the doodoo for not having insurance or reporting the accident...

MyOtherProfile · 05/02/2020 23:14

@DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn

MyOtherProfile · 05/02/2020 23:15

Oops I was trying to tag @SoupDragon to say thanks!

SoupDragon · 06/02/2020 07:32

🙂 I have tagging turned off anyway.

PlomBear · 06/02/2020 08:43

But at this stage (if anything so ridiculous happened in IRL) the police would be the lesser evil. Where is she going to find thousands of pounds from for the next x amount of years? Because that man is not going to stop asking for money.

PlomBear · 06/02/2020 09:21

And Niki is also committing criminal offences - fraud and theft. So if she finds herself without a job (and a possible criminal record) she will be broke and have no means to pay that guy back.

spiderlight · 06/02/2020 10:11

But this is Holby. It will drag on and on, probably involving a night in the cells at some point or sleeping on a bench because Cameron finds out about the necklace and kicks her out of the flat, and then the blackmailer's wife will be admitted and Nikki will go rogue to save her life or deliver her baby up a tree or some such nonsense.

PlomBear · 06/02/2020 10:15

😂

I miss the old Holby back in the days with Lisa Faulkner. I liked that era.
