That last thread filled up quickly! Here's a new one for us.

As a PP said, I can't quite forget how vile Dom was to Malik in the early days, so his rehabilitation has never made me warm to him. It looks as though his troubles aren't over, though. Carol to the rescue?

I can't believe it took the copper to tell Mange to stay away - and he accepted it when she essentially said 'no!'.

So fed up of Mange and her daughter... and Ric for that matter. Although I empathise - I'm fed up to the back teeth of them. Ridiculous that WE could diagnose Ric but a hospital full of doctors and nurses either didn't or just babysat him!

glutten4punishment · 02/10/2019 16:25

Just tried to watch yesterday's episode on catch up. Got about halfway through ('promise me Fletch' Hmm) and I'm done. Officially checked out of Holby.
Storyline is going beyond the land of ridiculous and I reckon banging my head against a wall may be less painful than watching it.
So until Jac or the beautiful Valentine come back, I'm done.

MyOtherProfile · 02/10/2019 16:58

It was ridiculous. Like Ange would be allowed to go in the theatre while her daughter's attacker was the patient for a start. It's never been realistic but it has really jumped the shark in recent times.

SleepingStandingUp · 02/10/2019 17:37

@jaggynettle yes I know. But she was just sat there, Ange looked at her as if seeing something afesh and asked. I thought it was a random qn given they were both fully dressed etc

ChoccyJules · 02/10/2019 19:46

I think we were supppsed to assume that Ange could tell by looking at Chloe, because she’s her Mum and it’s happened to her too.

I have to say Jack Ryder was a much better baddie than the mumbling McGann brother.

spiderlight · 02/10/2019 19:57

Ridiculous that Ange and Fletch were allowed to traipse round the hospital and talk to each other after they'd taken Evan in as well - surely everyone concerned would be interviewed separately by the police first and foremost. And as for Ange operating on Evan - and yet having the time to run to her office, hide the screwdriver, talk to Chloe and talk to Fletch beforehand, when he was supposedly on death's door. Also very convenient that his torn aorta didn't give him any trouble while he was chasing Chloe across a wheat-field and then raping her. I do feel sorry for Cam in all this though. I foresee lots of puppy-dog-eyed sobbing in the next few weeks.

Nonnymum · 02/10/2019 21:20

Where is Dom? Surely he would have heard about his sister?
That's what I was wondering. Considering even before he knew she was his sister he felt a bond with her he would have been there. He seems to have disappeared!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 02/10/2019 22:09

I actually found Ange realising what had happened to Chloe convincing. Chloe had that thousand-yard stare of someone who's gone away inside themselves and doesn't know how to get back out, and - given Evan's pattern of coercive control escalating to stalking escalating to physical abuse, rape is pretty much the next stage for men like that to reassert complete control.

What I didn't find convincing, as everyone's said, is how Ange was ever allowed to play any part in Evan's surgery at all. Just ridiculously implausible.

I thought the guy playing Cameron did a great job actually - his appalled horror when Ange mentioned the SARC and his gradual unravelling was well portrayed. It's a shame that some great acting from him, Chloe and even Fletch was completely overshadowed by Ange chewing up the scenery of every scene she was in.

EmeraldShamrock · 03/10/2019 07:52

Cameron done good.
No spoilers. Grin

spiderlight · 03/10/2019 09:36

I agree - Cameron's unravelling was very well done. He's a good actor compared to the others. I just wish they'd give him some storylines that don't require him to look like a kicked puppy all the time.

EmeraldShamrock · 03/10/2019 09:52

I has no idea Evan was Jack Ryder.

cittigirl · 03/10/2019 09:59

Blimey, neither did I 😧

PretendLife · 03/10/2019 11:08

Mange will be the reason I give up on Holby. I just hope we can get a break from her for a while. She is a wrinkled up shrieking shrew of a woman. God knows how they have paired her off with Fletch. Fletch needs someone younger and a bit fluffy.

QueenofmyPrinces · 03/10/2019 12:13

Just caught up and really enjoyed the episode. Some great acting from Cam and Chloe!

The finding of Ric’s brain tumour was a complete anti-climax, as was the story about Darla putting her baby up for adoption. Both storylines just suddenly seem very pointless.

SleepingStandingUp · 03/10/2019 13:31

Yeah Cam and Chlo def did well in that, I had to watch it in two halves.

ChoccyJules · 04/10/2019 09:06

Methinks Darla is gearing up to decide to keep her baby.

True that Cameron only gets sad puppy eye scenes. His part this week was good because I was willing him not to wreck his career and yet...

SoupDragon · 04/10/2019 09:07

I thought that about Darla but she seemed very calm and decided about it all in the last scene.

QueenofmyPrinces · 04/10/2019 09:12

Cam was just acting on Chloe’s wishes.

When he phoned her at the centre and her last words to him about the imaginary patient were “give him all the opiates he needs” that was her basically telling Cam to get rid of Evan once and for all.

Cam definitely loves Chloe enough to do that for her even if it does come out that his career is ruined.

I wonder what the post mortem will show...
The fact he was experiencing respiratory issues that lead to his death does indicate he may have been slowly receiving a higher dose of morphine than he should have done perhaps. I don’t think his death will be the end of the storyline.

QueenofmyPrinces · 04/10/2019 09:12

I thought that about Darla but she seemed very calm and decided about it all in the last scene.

Completely agree. I don’t get the impression she’s suddenly going to change her mind.

Optimist1 · 04/10/2019 10:14

Would Essie be interested in taking Darla's baby on? Grin

OP posts:
lololove · 04/10/2019 10:39

Grin it'd be unsufferable, ric sticking his nose in every second and second-opinioning everything she did

SleepingStandingUp · 04/10/2019 12:52

Yeah think baby will be gone and that'll be Darla back out for a while what Ric gets surgery etc.

I really hope Cam doesn't get done, Evan deserves it a d he's shown himself to have more balls than Xav over the Ric thing. Cameron is the only one who has tried to get aroc to face up to it and who has stood up to him, Xsv is too busy tiptoeing around his lauded hero to properly look be looking out for him.

I think if Donna realised how much Xav has covered for him she'd go mad

Ilovemyhairbeingstroked · 04/10/2019 21:15

I just can’t get into holby anymore . I still can’t believe we had over a year of build up with Jac and Fletch and it never happened . I cannot bear Ange and Chloe either . Considering they were making a fuss of it being it’s 20th anniversary - this years storylines have been pants !!

SleepingStandingUp · 04/10/2019 22:49

Bring on Elliott!!
Bring on Elliott!!!

lololove · 08/10/2019 19:43
