That last thread filled up quickly! Here's a new one for us.

As a PP said, I can't quite forget how vile Dom was to Malik in the early days, so his rehabilitation has never made me warm to him. It looks as though his troubles aren't over, though. Carol to the rescue?

How on earth has this Conor person managed to roam around the wards and get into the theatre viewing area? Is security in hospitals really that lax?

AuntieMaggie · 08/10/2019 20:47

Ugh so over the Essie storyline now

Optimist1 · 08/10/2019 21:06

Agreed, way too much Essie drama tonight, but on the upside we didn't see Ange! Grin

😂
Fed up of Essy now too. The storylines really are too far fetched sometimes. Uts annoying.

spiderlight · 09/10/2019 09:58

So if the father's been in prison and he's trying to get Frankie's number, how the hell did he even know that Essie has Isla?

spiderlight · 09/10/2019 17:19

The episode has give me my new favourite word though - 'tortuosity' :)

QueenofmyPrinces · 09/10/2019 20:51

The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous. I lose all faith in soaps when things just become stupid like the whole Essie storyline is. It’s so idiotic.

I was soooo bored during this weeks episode.

Stupid storylines stop me from wanting to pay attention.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 09/10/2019 20:58

The latest episode was unbelievably dull. Essie is the least interesting character coupled with the least interesting story.

Eh well, Kian's extremely easy on the eye so I just muted most of it and gazed at his incredibly sexy arms.

Nonnymum · 09/10/2019 21:22

I quite like essie but the story line about the baby is just ridiculous. None of it makes much sense. Even down to the gifts for essie. Sasha said the collection had been organised by Dom if so why give the gifts out when he wasn't at the hospital? And how could Connor just walk into the viewing room for the operation all hospitals I have been to have secure doors so you just can't walk around the wards. And why would it be so bad if social services knew essie was looking after the baby anyway? She hasn't stolen it.

EmeraldShamrock · 09/10/2019 21:42

I like essie's character it a useless story line.
It probably would be nicer if Daryla had decided to give Essie her baby.
I used to love holby but after the Rosanna storyline I was really disappointed by the end of gascoigne's death.
Now without Jac I've lost some of love.
Though the doctors Deval and Madni make it worthwhile. 😍

spiderlight · 11/10/2019 16:09

Has anyone been watching the new series of 'Motherland' on iPlayer? There's an episode that is absolutely full of Holby references - it's the Halloween one, 'The Purge'. Made me laugh.

Optimist1 · 11/10/2019 19:44

I'm watching it in real time (to prolong the pleasure), spiderlight, so thanks for the heads up - I'll be listening for the Holby references.

You'll be hard pressed to miss the main one! Grin

AGnu · 13/10/2019 02:17

I've been behind for ages & binged tonight. I'm still at least one episode behind but just saw Ric self-diagnose a brain tumour & scared DH when I shouted "Ha! I knew it!" Grin

I don’t know much about adoption but I thought adoption leave a) existed and b) would be for months?

When Essie was at work but had “adopted” a baby a week before without a single day off or MENTIONING IT, did none of those professional NHS members of staff ponder?

QueenofmyPrinces · 13/10/2019 17:45

Yes, adoption leave is the same leave as Maternity leave so she would have been entitled to 9 months off unpaid and then another 3 months off after that if she wished.

But don’t let details like that take away from the batshit crazy storyline.... Smile

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 15/10/2019 08:38

I really wish essie had just called his bluff. SS wouldnt let him near the baby just like that either...! Clearly neither parent is fit to look after poor Isla!

PretendLife · 15/10/2019 20:28

Oh FFS, bloody Mange is back already. We didn't get much of a break from her did we.

Lots of virtue signalling this week already. Homeless, hungry people, LGBT..

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 15/10/2019 20:33

I like the neurologist...'snowflakitus!'....! 🤣

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 15/10/2019 20:59

I can't quite believe how manipulative Essie and Sacha are! I can't help but feel that was done with Essie's best interests in mind rather than Isla's.

And this Ric bit is a bit weird...

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 15/10/2019 21:36

It definitely was... she'll have the baby over Christmas etc into the new year and then refuse to give her back when Frankie returns.

Thank god Mange was only in a short bit - still flouncy and all about her though.

She's one of those people who feed off drama - even if it's not her own drama and loves to big it up and continue it rather than let people sort it out. It's all about her....!!!

MyOtherProfile · 15/10/2019 23:08

I'm a week behind - was about to watch tonight's episode live when I remembered I hadn't watched last week's yet.

Is anyone else really irritated by Kian? We have already done the storyline of some woman he knows from the past appearing as a lone patient and him spending lots of time reminiscing with her. He seems to serve no purpose other than being a bit flirty with people.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 16/10/2019 06:46

I'm not irritated by Kian as much as I am the storylines they give him -I think he has potential but came in just as TPTB decided that Holby should become the Dom, Ange and Chloe show so has barely had a chance to show what he can do.

I really, really dislike Ange. How much more preferable was Jac's approach to Chloe? - yes, I know what happened and I know you don't need mollycoddling: I'm here if you need me.

MyOtherProfile · 16/10/2019 07:25

Fair point about Kian. Wonder if they led him to believe he would do more than flirt when they signed him up.

SoupDragon · 16/10/2019 08:39

He also performs complex life saving surgery.

Whilst flirting.

And eating.
