That last thread filled up quickly! Here's a new one for us.

As a PP said, I can't quite forget how vile Dom was to Malik in the early days, so his rehabilitation has never made me warm to him. It looks as though his troubles aren't over, though. Carol to the rescue?

If anyone wants to talk about the trailer.....

Elderflower14 · 10/09/2019 20:22

This storyline with Rick is ridiculous..... They should have retired him ages ago.

Optimist1 · 10/09/2019 21:12

Very disappointing to see Ric like he was in tonight's episode - poor Xav was in unenviable position. I'm still hopeful that whatever it is that Ric's suffering from he'll make a recovery and be back on form for a good few years yet.

Essie's playing a dangerous game, isn't she?

The Fletch/Evan/Ange/Chloe thing was so contrived!

They surely aren't really going to do a dementia storyline at the same time as Duffy in Casualty!

SoupDragon · 10/09/2019 23:03

I did love the unicorn cake for Erica 😂

PretendLife · 11/09/2019 09:31

Urghhhh! I can't bear Mange, who on earth would want to be with that screwed up shrieking face.

Bit bored now with the Chloe /Evan story, hope it is over now.

Yes, Ric should have been pensioned off by now.

lololove · 11/09/2019 10:17

Especially when Mange expects you to be a mind reader at all times...! You should know everything despite not being told it!

The fact Ric hasn't been reported by the other staff is ridiculous! (including those who witnessed his behavior to lofty in the theatre room) Especially given that lofty was strong armed out of his complaint. Blah. He's knowingly putting people at risk and Xav is covering for him! Boo!

PretendLife · 11/09/2019 15:17

If only Holby staff could have relationships with people outside of Holby….Fletch tried Abi, Jac and now lumbered with Mange and her delightful temper.

Time for Ric to go now, these characters can't go on for ever.

MyOtherProfile · 17/09/2019 20:45

Aagghh my kids have been talking over Holby. What is the true situation with the mother and daughter and the bruises?

choccyfiend78 · 17/09/2019 21:10

The daughter has been beating the mum up and the daughters bruises were from her mum grabbing her in self defence

MyOtherProfile · 17/09/2019 22:05

Blimey I definitely missed that! Was the bit about mum's boyfriend moving in true?

MyOtherProfile · 17/09/2019 22:05

Thanks by the way

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 18/09/2019 05:21

How many weeks pregnant was Dahla meant to be? You'd think an astute midwife would have picked up on that, and the whole scenario would have been different.

MyOtherProfile · 18/09/2019 06:06

She was full term I think from some comment that was made earlier in the programme about her being about to give birth.

SoupDragon · 18/09/2019 06:30

Cameron also said that the blood pressure had brought on early or premature labour although i don't think she had long to go as that was indeed said earlier. She didn't get to see the midwife as she was waiting for Ric.

The baby seemed huge though. Far too big for her bump size and "early" labour.

SleepingStandingUp · 18/09/2019 09:21

Yeah meant to be early but that could be 36 weeks tbf. Can't remember when it came out, and timeliness in Holby are a bit squiffy

spiderlight · 18/09/2019 15:52

'Newborn' babies in TV dramas always seem to be about three months old. I guess it's hard to find people who are willing to hand over actual teeny newborns to a TV film crew and hang around on set for hours when they've not long given birth! Darla's baby was particularly mahoosive though (and very cute). I get the feeling from Cameron suggesting a name that she's going to want to keep her now. I do hope they handle that storyline vaguely sensitively.

Ric was so vile to Cameron :( I know it's all part of the dementia/brain tumour storyline but he really is bloody horrible now. Kudos to Hugh Quarshie for being so convincingly nasty though!

Basketofkittens · 18/09/2019 16:42

Amazing that nobody has gone to HR/GMC with their concerns about Rick!

Regarding Essie, I have no idea about adoption law but is what she is doing (looking after family member’s baby) illegal? I didn’t think it would make the NMC strike her off.

SleepingStandingUp · 19/09/2019 09:33

Re Dalra, Cameron works for a girl!! I suspose unless you sign up pregnant women to have their babies filmed there's always gonna be an age lag. Can't be as bad as baby Gabe on Neighbours who literally was born smiling and with head control 😂😂

Nonnymum · 19/09/2019 09:36

I don't think she saw the midwife did she? She was waiting to go with Ric but he forgot.
Re Ric I've got a feeling it will turn out not to be dementia but something else.

Nonnymum · 19/09/2019 09:40

The Essie storyline is annoying me. How could medical professionals believe she had adopted a baby so quickly after applying to and then gone back to work after just a week? Surely they would have more idea about how adoption works.

spiderlight · 19/09/2019 09:43

Ah, but this is not just an adoption....it's a Holby adoption. Same rules as they have regarding notice periods. You just pop in your form, they hand you a baby at the next window and then you go straight round to drop it off at the free 24-hour crèche where there's always a vacancy for any child aged five minutes to 19 years.

lololove · 19/09/2019 09:48

@SleepingStandingUp Gabe practically tap danced out given the size and the rate he grew Grin

Not a massive fan of ric even before this but the fact he used cams mother who died in a particularly painful way just weeks previously is unforgivable. And that he and Xav are covering for him almost killing /wrongly operating on people without reporting him?

(also remembered that Xav talked lofty out of his report too... And that ric is aware himself to Google his concerns?! And darla has pointe ditnoit too? Ugh.)

spiderlight · 19/09/2019 10:38

You'd think, though, that a senior consultant wouldn't have to Google 'dementia' Confused

SoupDragon · 19/09/2019 11:07

He's a surgeon though, not a dementia specialist.
