I do like the fact that hbo, after being blamed for lack of money to do stuff, have come out and said they were happy to fund two more series, with more or less unlimited budgets....at the same time as D&D are announced as now working on the new Star Wars movie Grin

GooodMythicalMorning · 15/05/2019 17:06

I don't feel it's rushed but I'm just sad about the direction it's gone even though it does make compelling watching.

DeadWife · 15/05/2019 17:06

Why thanks One.

I bow down to your (plot related ) prescience Wink as well as your presence

MsMarvellous · 15/05/2019 17:10

Wotcha.

Notrusthere · 15/05/2019 18:26

I also wondered what the relevance of Varys taking off his rings was...poisen inside? That would fit with the idea he and kitchen maid had been trying to poisen her earlier in the episode.

I'm not sure we will see all the northerners etc next week.

I predict Sansa, Brienne, Pod and maybe Bronn and Sam will come down from the north as a result of Varys messages.

I think we have seen the last of Yara, folk from Dorne and Robin

Makes me so very very sad that I also think we won't see Tormund or Ghost again.

I think a flash forward at the end may be good, how else can we get everything resolved.

At this point I think no one will be on the Iron throne at the end.

Question though, whereby there meant to be 3 wtf moments this series?

I can think of Arya killing the night king and Dany torching kings landing but has there been another?

GooodMythicalMorning · 15/05/2019 19:38

Yes I think the poison was in his rings. wonder what was in the letter though

iklboo · 15/05/2019 19:43

I hope this last episode doesn't drag-on Grin

Doobigetta · 15/05/2019 20:16

Most amused by all the people threatening not to watch the last episode because they’re SO ANGRY. What do they think will happen? D&D to post here begging for another chance? A hasty rewrite?
Especially “it’s like being forced to eat mince pies”. Yes it is, actually exactly like that, in that you can very easily neither eat mine pies nor watch GoT, and the world will keep on turning.
(Apologies if this was your point and I’ve ruined the subtlety, it’s hard to tell on this thread)

Notrusthere · 15/05/2019 20:39

I can't imagine watching for almost a decade and then not watching last episode in protest.
What's the point? No one will care

sonjadog · 15/05/2019 20:54

No-one is going to not watch the last episode in protest. It´s like before elections when people say they will emigrate if x party gets in to power. Never happens when it comes to it.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 15/05/2019 20:58

Checking in. Dreamt that I was attending the premiere of the last episode last night, but actually with the real characters rather than actors. Can't remember how it ended though

fedup21 · 15/05/2019 21:00

didn't think shireen was wtf at all

Agreed!

My WTF moments were Ned’s head, the Red Wedding and Jon’s death.

Other bits that stuck in my mind (and still do!) are some of the horrible violent bits-

Theon’s todger
The nice prostitute and the cross bow
The Mountain poking what’s his chops eyes out.

legolimb · 15/05/2019 21:06

So - who can turn up in the final episode to take the Throne? Or help someone who deserves it to do so?

Yura?
Sansa?
Bronn?
Brienne?

I have absolutely no idea what can happen - I just hope it's a good ending.

itswinetime · 15/05/2019 21:11

Ned’s head, the Red Wedding and Jon’s death.

I agree with those they were definitely shocking nothing has compared to them since. However I think the only thing that actually made me shout Wtf at the TV was the ghost good bye or lack of good bye as it was! (No I won't just get over it Wink)

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 15/05/2019 21:13

I completely agree with all of that @fedup21.

LaurieMarlow · 15/05/2019 21:15

I see that some fans are petitioning HBO for a remake of this series Grin

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 15/05/2019 21:15

I'm catching up now. Well, nowt says crazy like a Targaryen. Think the person I'll be most pleased to die is Uron Greyjoy. What a fucker.
Why though, once all the defences were gone did Dany not just fly up and torch the tower?
Ah there he goes. Good. But hope Jaime isn't going to die because of that weasel.

CodenameVillanelle · 15/05/2019 21:52

Hodor was a major moment for me. It was one of those episodes that stayed with me for ages. The way we discovered how Bran was responsible for destroying Hodor's life...the horror of watching him get pulled apart by wights, the emotion of it. That one sucker punched me, I had no idea it was coming.
I don't know if you'd call it a WTF but the burning of the sept was another episode that killed me. Mostly I think because of how epically beautifully horrifying it was. The music was incredible. I think the composer is one of the best things about GOT and I'm a massive massive fan of the series.

agirlhasnonameX · 15/05/2019 22:18

Most amused by all the people threatening not to watch the last episode because they’re SO ANGRY.
This is hilarious. But you have to admire a show that can spark this sort of reaction 😂

Thanks for the new thread OP, I was feeling bewildered for a while there.

Leontine · 15/05/2019 22:29

Yeah my mind wasn’t blown by the Hodor reveal either.

Hand on heart I think the only truly WTF moment for me has been Dany torching King’s Landing. Grin

I was however not expecting Hodor, Shireen or how things went down with Cersei blowing up the sept.

The Red Wedding I already knew about as everyone was talking about it and it’s what made me decide that I should really start watching the show. (I didn’t have Sky at that time).
