welcome citizens of the Realm!

I will open the thread for Episode 6 on Sunday.

All discussion welcome. We post different views but respect each other's contributions.

No spoilers from elsewhere on the net, please.

OP posts:

When it comes to the acting Jaime (Nikolaj Costar-Waldau) is fantastic imo.

BurntSausage · 18/05/2019 16:09

I love Tyrion. Him and Cersei were my favourite characters (and I grew to like Jaime too). I like the theory of it all being him in cahoots with Cersei and turning out to be a complete bastard. That’d be cool! I also sort of hope Sansa comes round to loving him like I do and they end up together.

yumyumpoppycat · 18/05/2019 16:42

I really like tyrion too although I am annoyed he dobbed in varys! Love Jamie, I don't blame Brienne at all for shedding a tear for him.

Leontine · 18/05/2019 16:55

Tyrion is my number 1 choice for the throne!

Ohnotanothernamechange · 18/05/2019 17:30

I'd love Tyrion on the throne as well. Jon as Warden of the North, Davos as hand of the King. That would be a perfect ending.

I bet it won't happen though.

LaurieMarlow · 18/05/2019 17:47

I’d prefer Tyrion as lord of Casterly Rock having found and reconciled with his first wife. Probably not gonna happen though.

In theory I’d like him as hand, but he’s hasn’t been too hot in the role lately. He was a much better hand to Joffrey.

hellodarkness · 18/05/2019 18:42

Can you imagine the uproar if Tyrion was revealed to be evil and in league with Cersei. After the hullabaloo over Dany's 'out of character' behaviour the fans would faint dead away, no foreshadowing at all for that one. I can't see it myself.

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 18/05/2019 19:13

I'd like that too @Ohnotanothernamechange

Figgygal · 18/05/2019 20:18

Saw these today and they tickled me

The memes have been on fire this season. Grin

OrianaBanana · 18/05/2019 21:37

Can't imagine Jon enjoying any of it. He'd just look glum for the rest of his life.

Seems to me, Jon looks glum whatever he’s doing.

RJnomore1 · 18/05/2019 22:40

Jon’s a miserable git with questionable decision making.

I’m scared I’ve inadvertently read a leak on another MN thread. If it turns out to be true I want the last 8 years of my life back please!

48 hours time it will all be over...

10inabed · 18/05/2019 23:02

I'm really concerned about everyone saying that the leaked ending is rubbish (I haven't read any of the leaks btw). So I'm trying to think of the most rubbish ending possible to prepare myself.

It goes, anyone important who is still alive is killed by Dany. She gets the throne, but rules by fear and everyone hates her. The end.

yumyumpoppycat · 18/05/2019 23:11

If the story I read does happen I will be more or less fine with that. It's all going to be how they do it anyway.

yumyumpoppycat · 18/05/2019 23:12

by story I mean leaked ending.

BrieAndChilli · 18/05/2019 23:28

Could Gendry sit on the throne? He’s been legitimised now and has a claim to throne as a Baratheon

OkPedro · 18/05/2019 23:33

I can’t imagine an ending so bad that I’d want to have never watched in the first place 😳😳😳
I’m tempted to have a look at the spoilers now! No I won’t or will I 😂

itswinetime · 18/05/2019 23:45

If GRRM is trying to tell a different kind of story (which I think he is) one were there aren't clear hero's and villains, good and bad. The I would expect to see a reverse of the Danny storyline for who gets the throne. Making her a villain made us the look at all her past choices with new light (or at least that seems likely to be the intention of GRRM even if the show hasn't pulled it off as people had hoped). I would think the reverse might be true for whoever ends up on the throne. Someone who has been morally questionable but that by some action we will see in a new light. I can't think of a perfect character for that... maybe Tyrion... if he can survive Danny and the people of kings landing who I'm pretty sure won't be fond of a Lannister, a dwarf and hand of the queen who burnt the city in general let alone as king. I'm probably wrong but I don't think anyone who is considered a hero by some standards will be the one on the throne at the end.

hellodarkness · 19/05/2019 00:22

I want Dany to have a moment of clarity, realise she's become a tyrant and part of the wheel, possibly after confrontation with Jon or Tyrion, and abdicate.

I like the idea of Gendry on the iron throne because then we really will have come full circle, with a Targaryen ousted for a Baratheon with the support of Starks and Lannisters/Tyrion.

IHeartArya · 19/05/2019 00:30

I’m not sure if on this or another thread where a poster said they could see no one winning the throne but their being a democracy of sorts. A round table with all people’s (male & female) voices carrying equal weight. Now that would be my favourite ending of all- but I can’t see it.

BlackCatSleeping · 19/05/2019 01:23

I don't see Tyrion on the throne. He's a great character, but he's never really led anything before. He is very book smart, but all his life he has just relied on his family's money to get him by. He wasn't very good when he was Joffrey's Hand. He just spent his whole time plotting against Cersei. The people hated him and his father undid everything he did during his time. He also hasn't been very successful as Dany's Hand. Ultimately, his family were everything, and now he doesn't have his family or his family's money, it's hard to tell who he is anymore.

I also think Dany wasn't very successful when she ruled Meereen. Meereen was a complete and utter failure.

Jon has always been the natural leader. I loved that scene when he has just been made LC and his was appointing someone in charge of the latrines and you could see from Ser Alister's face that he knew that Jon would take the opportunity to humiliate him and get revenge, but Jon didn't and he appointed Ser Alister as First Ranger instead. It showed that Jon could be mature beyond his years. His skill is bringing everyone together. So, I do want Jon on the throne, with the others leading their respective areas, but I don't know if that will happen.

Doobigetta · 19/05/2019 07:19

@10inabed did you really just drop a fucking enormous spoiler that casually and ruin the entire fucking show? Wtf?

Leontine · 19/05/2019 07:34

@doobigetta huh? @10inabed hasn’t spoiled anything. She said she hasn’t read the spoilers.

Coolcoolcoolcoolcool · 19/05/2019 07:39

Chill out Doobigetta she was just guessing. I think that's pretty likely though.

captainpantbeard · 19/05/2019 07:52

Dany’s kill list for episode 6 - Tyrion, Sansa, Arya, Bran. Jon?

I wonder if Yara will turn up, and who she will side with. She did that arm shake pact with Danaerys in S6 but surely she can’t support her now?
