The Nights Watch. GAME OF THRONES. SEASON 8 EPISODE 5. May 13 UK. SPOILERS AFTER 2am.

So, now we battle for King's Landing and the Throne.

The penultimate episode of this most epic of tales. Can Cersei survive? Will Euron catch on and wonder how Tyrion could have known of the pregnancy? Will Arya and the Hound beat Jaime in the race south?

As ever, no leaks or spoilers please until we watch the episode live together. Our Watch begins....

The Mountain appears to be some strange zombie undead hybrid...maybe he will survive that fall and used it as a short cut to be in the right place to dig Cersai out the crypt!

Dragons fire which is what he fell into kills white I think it's safe to think it killed him to. Even if it didn't that was the perfect end for Cersei in a lot of ways she died with Jamie (how she came into the world). Wanting to protect her child (the only consistent part or her character) and it was true to prophecy her little brother (Tyrion) told them through Jamie to go that way because of his advice she was trapped and died killed by her little brother!

I hated that. I know they have been setting up Daenarys to go mad queen for ages but it was so horrible. So unnecessary. Varys MUST have told someone about Jon otherwise what's the point of him? He's far too clever to spend several hours it seems writing a tiny note then burning it.
Jon and Tyrion have properly turned against daenarys (I hope) but I expect she'll kill Tyrion next week anyway. Cersei's death (if she is dead) was shit.

How did Varys die? I dozed off just before it started and missed the first ten minutes!

That was probably the episode I disliked the most so far. A lot of it was a bit meh in the way characters apparently died. Cleganebowl was pathetic, it reminded me of Harry Potter and Voldemorte. Jaime and Cersei just seemed a bit of a cop out, a bit like scene from Titanic! I'm gutted he went back to her. I was delighted that Euron was killed by Jaime, I just wish Jaime had told him Cersei's baby wasn't Euron's.

I sat there thinking "Jon's no King!" He's lost the faith. I have visions of him killing Danerys, turning his back on the lot of them and striding back off into the snowy north of the wall. Or he might even fly there on the dragon. Perhaps Tiryon will end up with the throne? Can't think who else is left!

This was one of those episodes where issues that had seemed almost insurmountable just drop away easily (rather like Cersei suddenlly overcoming the High Sparrow after episodes of him having all the cards, or the Night King being defeated and out of the game just like that. Today the scorpions, the golden army and the Lannisters were all squashed without any fight...

Just reading people bitching about character arc on FB. Jaime did get his redemption arc with Brienne, and then showed his weakness- Cersei - I think that was fine. Underlined just how impossible it was for him to break away. And at least he got to kill Euron.

Equally Dany going completely fucking batshit has been signalled for ages. You'd have to be as dim as Jon Snow not to realise she was going to end up mad queen.

Crazy theory for next week... Jon and Dany will die together as they love each other but can’t be together. Bran will end up on the iron throne. The last shot will be Bran’s eyes turning blue.....as he is the night king.... Very unlikely I know but it came to me this morning after getting up 3.00am watching then reading all the write ups! So tired 💤

I’m really hoping Gendry will end up on the Iron Throne!
