I wasn’t keen on the zombies int he crypts and the hiding in the ‘alcove of convenience’.
Lol yeh I wasn't crazy on the alcove of convenience either. Also was a bit confused at how the dead punched through concrete and how they seemed to be in relatively good condition considering. At least Neds bones didn't make an appearance though.

Ifonlygreywormhadatodger · 29/04/2019 13:37

@HandsOffMyRights I was just going to say that Roberts grandmother was a targ so anything is possible.

itswinetime · 29/04/2019 13:39

Ahh I see where I got confused there are 2 prophecies, the original one about the Prince that is promised and then a later one saying that it would come from the line of Aerys so one can be true while the other isn't or maybe isn't quite what it seems??

Then I go back to the prophecies are all so vague for all we know they are talking about the Night King Grin

ladymarian · 29/04/2019 13:42

OMG that was epic!!
Jorah 😭😭😭😭😭 even though I knew he was going to die I still shouted No! at the TV. He died for his Khaleesi, just a shame she never loved him back 😢
Go Arya!
Loved Sansa and Tyrion. He would be so good for her
Theon 😭 he died a true hero

Are Brienne, Podrick and Jaime still alive?
Dam? Gendry? I wasn't sure if they were still alive at the end or not. I'm sure Jaime is because he still has to face Cersei.

ladymarian · 29/04/2019 13:44

*Sam not Dam! I'm a bit annoyed at him because he got Edd killed!

agirlhasnonameX · 29/04/2019 13:44

Pod and Jaime are still alive, Brienne too but looked like she got stabbed pretty bad. Gendry is in the trailer for next week.

ladymarian · 29/04/2019 13:47

Thanks! Haven't seen the trailer yet.

ElenadeClermont · 29/04/2019 13:48

Brienne also has Targaryen blood according to the World of Ice and Fire book.
Tarths boast of blood-ties to the Durradons, Baratheons and more recently the Targaryens.

There is a theory that Dunk had a baby with one of Egg's sisters, who was then passed off as the heir to Tarth. As the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Dunk was not allowed to marry.

Isn't the reason for the lack of NK backstory due to the prequels they're hoping to release?

agirlhasnonameX · 29/04/2019 13:52

Isn't the reason for the lack of NK backstory due to the prequels they're hoping to release?
Hmm that's true. I don't think they know whether or not it will be about the Long Night though? Read somewhere they are making 6 different pilots and going with whatever one is most successful.

itswinetime · 29/04/2019 14:11

I agree if the 6 have already been scraped I think or at least are no longer being worked on I'm not sure which ones are still standing. Possibly one on the long night but I'm not sure

itswinetime · 29/04/2019 14:12

That made no sense sorry obviously lack of sleep isn't my friend.

Meant to say I think some of the 6 have already been scrapedBlush

ElenadeClermont · 29/04/2019 14:18

The first pilot will be Sons of the Dragon, which is about Aegon the Conqueror' sons (Maegor and co).

itswinetime · 29/04/2019 14:19

Apparently we are down to one prequel and yes it looks like it will cover a lot of the white walker background! Which is good but still makes for a bit of an unsatisfying ending to me! That said I have come to the decision today if rather have this moment here and now than right at the end or with any of things I'm more invested in. The night king was always going to die so it doesn't really matter how.

'Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know.'

ElenadeClermont · 29/04/2019 14:22

Wow! That sounds interesting.

WhiskersPete · 29/04/2019 14:33

Just settling down for my second watch...

InglouriousBasterd · 29/04/2019 14:51

Gilly survived, she was there with little Sam at the end in the crypt.

Arya is my queen 🙌🏻

CalmConfident · 29/04/2019 14:55

Phew! Thank you Smile

SweetSummerchild · 29/04/2019 14:56

Well, that’s the end of the ‘Bran is the night king’ theory.

CalmConfident · 29/04/2019 14:57

I guess the reanimated bodies in the crypt were quite old, rickety and not armed with weapons so maybe less hard to evade than the main army of the dead fighting everywhere els?

Jaffacakebeast · 29/04/2019 14:58

.

SweetSummerchild · 29/04/2019 14:59

I did like the Syrio Forel ‘Not today’ quote.

Ifonlygreywormhadatodger · 29/04/2019 15:01

Are the dunk & egg books any good?

SweetSummerchild · 29/04/2019 15:05

Ifonlygreywormhadatodger they are good and well written stories, but they are short so don’t expect anything really in depth.

There are a lot of links between the characters and the ‘contemporary’ storyline eg Rohanne Webber is Jaime Lannister’s great-grandmother.

I enjoyed them. I’d rather read more of them than another fake history book.

LunaMay · 29/04/2019 15:22

Did Alys Karstark survive? I feel like i missed a lot and need a rewatch but obviously Theon was standing alone and she was with him yes?
