I’ve loved Arya from day one, she’s a brilliant Character. Too many of the main characters survived tonight. The next 3 episodes are going to be tough!

burblish · 29/04/2019 03:58

@DeadWife @EraoftheGrey I was also glad to see the references to what Melisandre is said to Arya back when Melisandre took Gendry from the Brotherhood Without Banners - I love it when the dots get joined up like that.

TheInvestigator · 29/04/2019 03:59

Did Rhaegal (is that the name if Jon's adopted dragon) die? Or just get knocked out for a bit?

OkPedro · 29/04/2019 03:59

There was so much to take in. I’ll be rewatching all week. Theon definitely redeemed himself and yes should be in the crypt with his family

sam221 · 29/04/2019 04:01

This episode, Arya - Im lost for words! When the fire had no effect, Night King smiling-I was done!
Terrific episode and am glad that Jamie made through. Do agree that Sam should have gone to the crypt but actually he didn't do too badly.
There is a trailer for episode 4 on Youtube, no sleep here!

EraOfTheGrey · 29/04/2019 04:05

There's 2 dragons in the ep 4 trailer.

@TheInvestigator

Yeah that's true actually! And here's me picking on Samwell!

Did gilly survive, it was hard to tell?

I missed Melisandre dying (3 week old baby in tow...). What happened?

OkPedro · 29/04/2019 04:12

She took off her necklace and walked out of winter fell, you see her become the old woman and she drops to the ground. Davos is watching

DangerMouse17 · 29/04/2019 04:14

She just took her necklace off, staggered a bit and then died. I suppose her job was done....

JAMMFYesPlease · 29/04/2019 04:14

What an episode! Some of my death predictions were right but I didn't see that ending. Loved that Arya was the one to do it, and foreshadowed in her sparring with Brienne (dropping the knife to the other hand).

All I kept wondering those was where Ghost was. I did spot him (and both Drogon and Rhaegal) in the promo for next week's episode.

Minniecat Melisandre too off her necklace and turned into the old woman. Walked off into the snow to die. Guess she knew she was no longer needed.

TheInvestigator · 29/04/2019 04:14

She walked outside the walls of Winterfell just as dawn approached. Ser Davos came out behind her and looked like his hand was on his sword ready to maybe go kill her.

As she walked ahead, she removed her necklace and dropped it to the ground. Then you just see her from behind (Davos watching) as her hair turns white, she gets thinner, dust starts blowing away from her as she disintegrates and dies of old age.

Placemarking for later - can’t wait!!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 29/04/2019 06:32

Glad Arya was the one to do it and Theon was amazing. Truly redeemed himself.

I did feel it went a bit ‘zombie apocalypse’ and the NK arc disappointed me. No back story, no sense of motivation...
I’ve not been a fan of any of the big battle episodes though. Much prefer the quieter ones with the politics.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 29/04/2019 06:49

Meh. Liked the end but it was too much running around in the dark and stabbing. About 80% of the dialogue was people calling each other's names.

Maybe it will improve on rewatching

itswinetime · 29/04/2019 06:51

I am not sure how I feel I think I need some time to process!

Figgygal · 29/04/2019 07:02

I'm impressed you guys stayed up
Just got to get the kids to school/nursery then can crack on

RonBurgundyspanpipe · 29/04/2019 07:14

Wow. So is Arya the prince who was promised? Should have seen it coming when Beric died to save her.

maddiemookins16mum · 29/04/2019 07:19

I sobbed when it looked as if Tyrion and Sansa were doomed.

Lweji · 29/04/2019 07:30

That's the one! Thanks for confirming it. I couldn't quite place it.
It was awesome (not a word I tend to use).

binkyblinky · 29/04/2019 07:31

Does anyone not think that it all ended a bit too quickly? I mean, 8 seasons have been leading up to this. Arya was incredible but I feel cheated! I wonder if Bran will turn? Why didn't the NK kill him straight away?

magicstar1 · 29/04/2019 07:35

Wow! We got up at 5.30 to watch it before work...had a moment of panic when the Sky box wouldn’t switch on Shock
I shed a tear for Lyanna...I loved her, but she went out with a bang, and we both screamed when Arya killed the Night King.
Can’t wait for next week now!!

sashh · 29/04/2019 07:36

What a way to be woken up this morning.

itswinetime · 29/04/2019 07:36

There's what about 4hrs of the show left? Based on the expected runtimes? It could well be all isn't as it seems because 4 hours of how to defeat Cersei is not how I thought it would end!
