SweetSummerchild
Ha, when I was typing it I knew it was wrong & almost put (ish) in.

Does the wight dragon blow blue ice or fire?

agirlhasnonameX · 29/04/2019 19:15

Cersei isn't really pregnant SweetSummerchild??

I think it's blue fire.

Jon has definitely forgotten about Ghost Angry

sonjadog · 29/04/2019 19:15

I´m not a big fan of battle scenes and for me this was too long. I got bored of that coughing up fur ball sound the dead make. I feel they could have killed the NK off about 20 minutes before they did.

Also, I hope now that the NK is dead, there can be a bit more light.

sonjadog · 29/04/2019 19:17

I don´t think Jon has forgotten about Ghost. It would just be hard for Ghost to hold on to the dragon with his paws so he left him behind.

fancynancyclancy · 29/04/2019 19:20

Ghost will do something heroic over the next few episodes I think.

IPokeBadgers · 29/04/2019 19:22

Not read spoilers yet but struggling to watch the episode as it's so damn dark! Hmm

Tilikum · 29/04/2019 19:28

The darkness is supposed to be atmospheric, but when the black ravens fly into the black sky, looking down at the unlit ground, it's a bit much. Maybe if it was shown on a cinema screen it would be easier to see.

IPokeBadgers · 29/04/2019 19:32

There's atmospheric and then there's can't see a damn thing! Grin

agirlhasnonameX · 29/04/2019 19:39

Yeh he's not gonna take ghost on a dragon but didn't need to send him in with the vanguard either considering it is known they usually all die.

Robin2323 · 29/04/2019 20:01

I absolutely loved the music when Melisandre died, it was so beautiful.

I felt quite sad by her death.
Even though I never really liked her.
It was a very powerful and moving scene.

Flaverings · 29/04/2019 20:03

I loved the episode, but a bit later I’m left thinking, “is that it?!” re the NK. No explanation for his motive, the spirals, Craster’s sons, seeking the 3ER etc.

HidCat · 29/04/2019 20:03

I've enjoyed the series so far and episode 3 was amazing! As frustratingly dark as the images are I felt they fit this battle as I had a sense of what the soldiers felt fighting to see their opponents. The image of the Dothraki disappearing and the dead being lit up suddenly was brilliant.

I think the purpose of the WW was to help create the army but like they, they only really act on command, so didn't intercept Arya as the NK thought he could take her (and her ability to stealth would have blindsided the WW anyway), likewise for Bran. I agree with @SweetSummerchild that the dagger being recorded in the Citadel material and the way it was presented to Arya hint that this was the outcome, the GRRM may have a different outcome in the books, who knows.

A lot of people commented on too many main characters staying alive but I notice they're all the ones either carrying Valyrian steel or paired up with someone else who has it, I think. Also if the Lord if Light is involved and he has plans for them later in, that will have kept them alive (I'm thinking of Sam as a scribe to document it all).

I swear there was some music in there from The Terminator...

Willyoubuymeahouseofgold · 29/04/2019 20:08

There are 4 dragons in the sky with the comet in the prophecy orb thing in the titles... What are your theories about this? Isn't there one in King's Landing crypt?

SweetSummerchild · 29/04/2019 20:10

Cersei isn't really pregnant SweetSummerchild??

No one really knows. There was a ‘leaked plot’ for season 7 which suggested that she had a miscarriage but it never happened. The leaks were accurate for the rest of the season.

She may be pregnant or she may not be. It’s Schrodingers pregnancy.

yumyumpoppycat · 29/04/2019 20:13

I agree Melissandre's final scene was beautifully shot, however it reminded me a little bit of mother gothel in tangled! I wonder if Davos will pick up her necklace?

Hopefully Bran will play a part in what happens in the finale but would he care about who is on the throne now NK is dead?

SweetSummerchild · 29/04/2019 20:13

There are 4 dragons in the sky with the comet in the prophecy orb thing in the titles... What are your theories about this?

The large dragon is Dany and the three tiny ones are her dragons. The characters on the astrolabe are all shown by their houses, hence the lion with a fish in its mouth represents the Lannisters taking Riverrun from the Tullys. That’s the theory that I agree with anyway (I’m not taking credit for it).

SweetSummerchild · 29/04/2019 20:16

would he care about who is on the throne now NK is dead?

He really did seem to care that R+L=J. If that wasn’t because Jon was important for killing the Night King, as that was all about Arya and the catspaw dagger, then he must believe it was important for something else.

GreenEggsHamandChips · 29/04/2019 20:30

Who is alive or dead? I couldnt tell for sure in the end. Both Mormonts, red woman, berric dead. But is that it? Grey worm dead or missing in action? Melssandre, Gendry?

Yeah i too found the episode too dark, too bleak and too boring. Perfer the more politics relationships.

DragonglassHeart · 29/04/2019 20:31

I've just rewatched and found it much easier to see and follow second time around.

Still epic.

The look between Sansa and Tyrion as the music started is one of the most moving moments of the whole show for me. So much unspoken love, admiration, regret and if onlys. Just like Sansa and Theon last week. Jorah and Theon's final scenes. The Hound coming out of his freeze to help Arya. So, so many moments.

I think these are genuine emotions coming from the actors that know this 'family' is coming to an end.

DragonglassHeart · 29/04/2019 20:32

I don't think Melisandre is dead? I'm sure I just saw her stood in the group with Tyrion and Sansa at the crypt.

DragonglassHeart · 29/04/2019 20:33

Oh gosh, sorry, I confused the name with Missandei. Brain still not working!

Tilikum · 29/04/2019 20:34

That was a different red haired woman DragonglassHeart Melisandre walked out of Winterfell as dawn broke, took her necklace off, turned old and turned to dust.

Tilikum · 29/04/2019 20:35

Or did you mean Missandei?

itswinetime · 29/04/2019 20:38

Bran must have a purpose going forward otherwise the night king would have killed him with Arya seconds to late! Not sure what but I think it has to be to do with the endgame for the iron throne and the future of Westeros! Still don't think this can all of just been a battle for power the 3rd holy shit moment is coming I think it involves Bran some how!

fancynancyclancy · 29/04/2019 20:41

How did Ghost escape?
