Why are the writers giving Nate so many stories?

Nate is an absolute creep, there must be some sort of back story involving Cain, I mean what's it to him if Cain doesn't want Amy seeing Kyle, christ sake she gave him up for adoption so I'm sure she even has any rights over Kyle.

Glad Maya has got a prison sentence. I'm finding it really interesting that they are showing the damaged relationships AFTER justice has been served. It would have been all too easy to have everyone playing happy families but it's actually highlighting the aftermath of abuse/grooming and how families can be destroyed by it. He wanted to play it slow with Amy until he touched moira weirdly when giving her phone back, and it gave him the hits for Amy, just so he could creepily get weirdly involved in his employer's home life, and watch her. He really needs to go. There's no way Cain and moira would let him interfere so much - he was really pissing me off in the cafe putting his two penneth worth in. Seriously made me shout at the telly.
