Knew I shouldn't have come on here til I saw fridays episode 🤦‍♀️

Just wanted to say I thought David came across as selfish and when he found out. He just focused on him being cheated on not the fact that maya is a twat and Jacob was groomed. Utter toss pot. Again not seen fridays but his first reaction was poor from a dads perspective.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/05/2019 22:39

Agree totally with that rules. I thought the same. David was responding from a “ive been cheated on perspective” and not a “my child has been abused” perspective. It was weird.

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2019 23:19

I think David was just in complete shock and couldn't process it at first. Matthew Wolfenden has been amazing. I can't hate David no matter what idiotic thing he does just like all the women in his life Grin

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/05/2019 23:28

You’re just a sucker for a pretty face jane Grin

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2019 23:30

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/05/2019 23:54

😂😂😂

Brilliant! I’d forgotten that awful hair!

Eastie77 · 12/05/2019 00:41

David's acting this week has been a bit better than usual I suppose.

Diane is truly terrible though and has been for a while. She wasn't always this bad, I'm sure when Jack was around she was a lot sharper. She just seems quite dimwitted now and her 'shocked' expression is awful.

Agree that adding surrogacy to Victoria's ordeal will totally undermine what could be a real powerful storyline. Surely in reality she would terminate. As much as she loves her brother it defies belief that she'd put herself through that so he can have a baby.

Billy the violent ex-offender who Marlon barely knows is doing April's school runConfused

KurriKawari · 12/05/2019 06:53

David's acting this week has been amazing this week, let down somewhat by the stupid words that the writers have given him to say. David, Vic, Moira, Tracey have all proven themselves as strong actors this week, pity the writers would rather go for dragged out sensationalism than reflecting on real life.

southeastdweller · 12/05/2019 08:11

I agree with Jane about David's reaction. I think it was about shock rather than reason and felt very realistic.

This has been a great week for the show - well done Emmerdale! Lots of gripping scenes, acted superbly. I thought Roxy Shahidi as Layla has been amazing again and doesn't get the credit she deserves when it comes to awards. Isobel Hodgins (Victoria) has been a revelation. I also liked the shift away this week from the Dingle's.

incrediblyfedup · 13/05/2019 13:59

I don't understand why with all the storylines going on already they're being Lisa back now. I don't like the Layla-Maya storyline I don't think it's realistic and I think such an important topic could've been handled better.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 13/05/2019 16:26

Agree incredibly. They already have too many big storylines running at the same time, Lisa coming home to announce that she is dying is not needed right now. It’s far too much. They need to scale it right back. Corrie did the same and it’s ruined the programme.

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/05/2019 19:11

Poor Chaz

ILoveMaxiBondi · 13/05/2019 19:16

What’s happened with chaz?

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/05/2019 19:18

Because she knew she tried to stop the party, and everyone was mean to her.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 13/05/2019 19:58

Oh charity!! I thought You meant paddy’s chas and something had happened with the baby.

It’s amazing the personality change Cain has had over the years. He’s a proper wise old owl now isn’t he Grin all the feelz!

JaneJeffer · 13/05/2019 20:36

Robert looked gorgeous in that shirt.

Smidge001 · 13/05/2019 23:15

Lisa being back has reminded me they did a rape story with her too.

So that's Lisa, finn, rhona and Victoria in the past 3 years.

Plus Alicia being sexually abused by the physcho boy.

And maya sexually abusing arsey boy.

Plus Aaron having been sexually abused as a child, and taking his abuser to court.

Plus charity having been sexually abused and taking her abuser to court.

I know it's a serious issue, but I think we might have overdone it now for one village in the space of 3-4 yrs...

redzebra10 · 14/05/2019 08:37

i hope we're not going to have
paddy i can' t feel him kick , rushes to the hospital
paddy theres something wrong .rushes to the hospital
for the next 6 months. i'll be switching off

JaneJeffer · 14/05/2019 20:29

I think I experienced every emotion under the sun during those two episodes!

PrincessScarlett · 14/05/2019 21:00

Why is Jessie in the pub and generally hanging around the village when GCSEs have started? Not to mention she's got a teacher gone missing. She is the worst head teacher ever.

And it's annoying me that David didn't tell Jessie why Maya and Jacob are really missing, let alone reporting to the police. When are they going to start dealing with this whole situation in a proper way?

JaneJeffer · 14/05/2019 21:20

I think the writers are doing it so that Jacob comes to realise for himself that what Maya is doing is wrong. I hope so anyway.

We finally got a mention of Annie Sugden after all these years!

knorrig · 14/05/2019 22:40

Too many big storylines going on. Maya, Victoria, Lisa, Harriet...etc

PrincessScarlett · 14/05/2019 23:00

And don't forget Eric Pollard is still in hospital after his near death experience. So much going on that they've all forgotten about poor Eric.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 14/05/2019 23:00

If Jessie was worth anything at all as a head teacher she’d have reported maya missing to the police. Teachers don’t just go off for headspace in the middle of GCSEs. They knock their pan out all year long to prepare those kids for the exams, it’s just not what teachers do, they know it’s far too important, and if a teacher did go AWOL like this it would be a huge alarm bell that they may have had a breakdown under the strain of it all and do something to harm themselves. Jessie needs to sharpen up.
