That really tickled me!

I was saying to DH last night about how much it must go on and that the victim feels scared and that the attacker ‘expected sex’ because they were invited back to the house. When Victoria said that she ‘knows how it looks’, there will be so many victims that can relate to her. Glad this story is being covered but I agree, it’s hard viewing. I don’t agree with people complaining about it being aired before the watershed, there was a warning at the beginning of the program and anyone that watches the show knows that this week is all about what happened on that night.

Whilst I don’t agree at all with Maya/Jacob, I’m glad David has experienced getting cheated on....he’s cheated on everybody!!!

The Moira/Victoria scenes were very well done. Eastenders did a rape storyline recently where it could have been seen as consensual and they got found guilty so hopefully this will be the same!

JaneJeffer · 10/05/2019 19:30

So cruel to have Victoria be pregnant from this.

PinkieTuscadero · 10/05/2019 21:21

Is Victoria going to say that there's no way she can raise the child but she's willing to go to term and then give the baby to Aaron and Robert to raise as their own...until she gives birth and falls in love with her baby...

That's going to happen isn't it?

threedeepatthebar · 10/05/2019 21:39

Yes it is!

Eastie77 · 10/05/2019 21:40

It was terribly harrowing. The actor who plays Lee has apparently served a prison sentence IRL for supplying GHB and spiking a young woman's drink.

I felt not an ounce of sympathy for David. He has behaved appallingly towards every woman he has been with. I hope this is the last we are seeing of Maya and if she is brought to justice it happens off screen. Please then send Jacob off to live with his mum-aunt whenever she is.

When it all comes out (a big reveal in the packed Woolpack no doubt) we'd better be prepared for some poorly acted wailing from Jessie "I knew something was going on"

JaneJeffer · 10/05/2019 21:47

spiking a young woman's drink. It was a man's drink, his friend apparently, not that that makes him any better.

KurriKawari · 10/05/2019 22:11

Is Layla not Jacob's mum? I know that David isn't his real dad.

PinkieTuscadero · 10/05/2019 22:16

Layla is his mum but has had more of an aunt role in his life
Layla's sister (Alicia?) is his aunt but was the one who actually brought him up so is considered his mum. She moved to Spain or Portugal for reasons I can't quite remember.

JaneJeffer · 10/05/2019 22:16

Layla is his birth mother but Alicia brought him up.

KurriKawari · 10/05/2019 22:18

Oh poor kid, he's had a really confusing life/parentage.
I haven't watched emmerdale for over a year but saw yesterday and today's episodes. Vic has been amazing, and sadly I say this from personal experience.

PinkieTuscadero · 10/05/2019 22:21

I'm very sorry to hear that, Kurri. Horrific experience that's sadly far too common Flowers

ILoveMaxiBondi · 10/05/2019 22:21

Is Victoria going to say that there's no way she can raise the child but she's willing to go to term and then give the baby to Aaron and Robert to raise as their own...until she gives birth and falls in love with her baby.

Oh please no! Please don’t let them go down that route.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 10/05/2019 22:26

Also how fucking dire was Diane’s acting tonight?

Bit dodgy to have someone who has been convicted of spiking drinks (so showing a very clear disregard for consent and personal boundaries) carry out a rape storyline!! Hmm bit fucking insensitive.

JaneJeffer · 10/05/2019 22:35

Emmerdale need to start doing better background checks on their new recruits.

I really hope they don't go down the route of giving the baby to Robron. Victoria would still have to see them all the time. I can't see Robert going along with that after his experience of
not wanting a baby but then loving Seb as soon as he saw him.

PrincessScarlett · 10/05/2019 23:16

Pinkie, Alicia moved to Portugal after Lachlan assaulted her as she couldn't bear living in the same village as him.

Another one who has zero sympathy for David after his treatment of women.

Oh and Victoria is so going to be Robert and Aaron's surrogate isn't she.

bizzey · 11/05/2019 01:06

Please could someone explain to me how Victoria is pregnant so quick ?
And why did Moira get it for her ?
Did all this happen 4/6 weeks ago.

Soo confused...but Victoria is fab .

bizzey · 11/05/2019 01:07

( i thought it happened last week)

JaneJeffer · 11/05/2019 01:41

They used one of those early detection tests.

PremierNaps · 11/05/2019 02:10

Early detection kits. I've been so gripped by Emmerdale these last few weeks.

KurriKawari · 11/05/2019 05:58

You could see the anger in Aaron's eyes yesterday. Vic is like a sister to him, pretty sure he will find Lee.

ittooshallpass · 11/05/2019 12:01

The pregnancy result was a bit quick... even if it was an early detection kit, would it really show that early?? It spoilt an otherwise brilliant couple of episodes from Isobel.

ellenanora5 · 11/05/2019 12:47

Yes I presume the baby will be given to Robert and Aaron, then she'll want the baby back and Robert will kidnap the baby and hide in a hotel, Aaron and Victoria will find him and they'll work it all out.

Diane has been brutal for ages, I wish she'd leave.

I have a feeling Maya is going to get even worse and do something awful to Jacob when she finds out he has his phone.

I'm not looking forward to Lisas' story, think it's going to be very hard.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/05/2019 14:43

The nightclub episode was two weeks ago in our real life world but I’m not sure it’s been two weeks in emmerdale time. They’ve been having a few episodes covering an emmerdale day since the nightclub night so I think maybe it’s been a week since Victoria was raped. I agree it’s far too early to do a pregnancy test. They should have been far more realistic about it and told her it was too early to tell and that she could test now (and it be negative) but would also need to test again in a couple of weeks if her period didn’t come.

I really really can’t cope with them making her decide to give her baby to robron. Rape is traumatic enough. That’s a storyline in itself. That’s enough. Let the story be her coping with the aftermath of being raped and trying to get justice. (Also massively traumatic) It doesn’t need to be even more dramatic and traumatic with this added element of tv big drama. No. Please. No.

chuzzlewit · 11/05/2019 21:53

It’s interesting to see how good some of the actors are when they finally get a really well written script. Moira has always been one of the best actors in it (her reaction to finding Holly dead was devastating) and she and Vic have been excellent this week.
