Given we are only a week away from the final season, I thought we should have a shiny new thread to discuss the episodes as they are broadcast.

Anyone else going to be starting their watch at 2 am on Monday 15th?

I've watched the trailers and teasers dozens of times, and I am READY!

I have a theory that the Battle for Winterfell in Ep 3 will be lost, and they will have to move south, re assemble at Dragonstone or Kings Landing. After all, here are three episodes to fill after that!

Jon doesn't look like his heart is really in it [definitely not now] but then he's been like that since he came back from the dead.

Maybe he no longer has a heart.....

MargotLovedTom1 · 24/04/2019 15:38

I don't think Emilia Clarke is a bad actor - I loved the matey, "Ooh I can easily manipulate my dopey pseudo-SIL," act with Sansa, only to react with barely contained fury when Sansa showed she was no pushover. Emilia Clarke is completely and utterly different in the film of Me Before You and I think she does have talent.

Maisie Williams' Scottish accent leaks through all the time to my ears.

TeaForTheWin · 24/04/2019 16:17

Maisie Williams isn't Scottish lol.

What? She’s from the West Country Confused

Buscake · 24/04/2019 16:29

Totally agree with previous posters re Baelish and his accent. I think the guardian blog (?) called him the lord of the wandering accent. Here is an article with the actor claiming it was intentional 🤔 www.denofgeek.com/uk/tv/game-of-thrones/51657/game-of-thrones-season-7-aidan-gillen-on-littlefinger-s-accent-and-hidden-warmth

TeaForTheWin · 24/04/2019 16:43

I saw Baelish on an episode of Poirot the other day, in his younger days. He was a handsome fella. Still is to be fair.

AngeloMysterioso · 24/04/2019 16:44

Maisie Williams isn’t Scottish?!

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 17:21

No, she's from Bristol!

MargotLovedTom1 · 24/04/2019 18:00

Ooops! 😂
Let me rephrase that: Maisie Williams' Bristol accent leaks through....

😂😂

War of the Five Kings:

Balon Greyjoy - killed by Euron
Joffrey Baratheon - killed by Olenna Tyrell
Renley Baratheon - killed by Melisandre (and Stannis)
Stannis Baratheon - killed by Brienne
Rob Stark - killed by the Freys (with regards from the Lannisters)

BelfastBloke · 24/04/2019 18:03

Kingslayers

BelfastBloke · 24/04/2019 18:06

(Or come to think of it, in the War of Five Kings, was the fifth king Robert Baratheon - killed by Lancel Lannister and Cersei Baratheon)?

BelfastBloke · 24/04/2019 18:06

And a Boar.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 18:10

Speaking of accents, I did find the variety among the Stark children odd - Robb sounded Northern but the rest of them spoke in RP!

JasperRising · 24/04/2019 18:13

Not sure if this has been discussed yet but it occurs to me that Grey worm appears on the list of people who might die because of his chat with Missandei. But if he and the unsullied and dothraki take large losses in this coming battle (and they do seem to be on the frontline) then Dany loses her personal army. So then to continue with her claim on the throne she will need Jon to support her over his claim and will need the northern army (so will probably have to agree to Sansa wanting independence nfor the north. OR she will have to give up her claim bin favour of Jon because the north might support him as half Stark.

TheInvestigator · 24/04/2019 18:18

@BelfastBloke

Robb Stark was killed by Roose Bolton, with the backing of the Lannisters and the Freys.

BelfastBloke · 24/04/2019 18:28

That Red Wedding was a bit hectic, when you think about it.

Robin2323 · 24/04/2019 18:39

Just to name a few (characters): Olenna, Tywin, Roose and Ramsey Bolton, Walder Frey, Maester Aemon, The High Sparrow, Stannis, Mance Rayder, Jeor Mormont, Joffrey, Doran Martell

So true.
Some stellar actors/ actresses.

I'm loving season 8.
Sansa/Theron reunion was perfect.
The pair nailed that scene.

From Theron coming out the shadows to Sansa's genuine heartfelt emotion and then Theron timed response.
Beautiful.

Brought a tear to my eye.

PreseaCombatir · 24/04/2019 19:15

The Targaryens are not the ‘rightful’ leaders of anything. They only came to Westeros about 300 years ago, and conquered by burning everyone alive.
The Starks were Kings of the North for 8 thousand years. And they finally have their independence back, and then here comes another gobby Targ, with more fiery WMD’s.
These poor Northerners cannot catch a break.
And that’s before you consider their imminent despise at the hands of the Night King...

PreseaCombatir · 24/04/2019 19:15

*imminent demise lol

Thegreymethod · 24/04/2019 19:54

@TeaForTheWin have you ever seen him in Queer as Folk? He's brilliant and gorgeous I've had a huge crush on him ever since! Was ecstatic when littlefinger showed up on GOT!
Has anyone seen any clips of the game of thrones tour? There's a significant place that is now very very burned, I won't say in case it's a spoiler too far!

SweetSummerchild · 24/04/2019 20:08

Sansa/Theron reunion was perfect.

I agree. I thought it was far more emotional than the Arya/Jon reunion in the last episode. On the whole, I thought the acting was much better this episode. I don’t know if that’s down to the different writer and director for the episode.

yumyumpoppycat · 24/04/2019 21:13

I loved that scene too.

I was just reading vulture summary of got finale theories and they finished up with this:

In the words of Ramsay Bolton: “If you think this story has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”

I really really want a happy ending for theon and sansa.

Coolcoolcoolcoolcool · 24/04/2019 22:43

I'm pretty sure sansa will live and be happy/content. Theon will die before the end I believe, but heroically. Obviously, this a baseless opinion.

That was a great line.

WhiskersPete · 24/04/2019 23:05

Theon will come full circle and die protecting Bran flake.
