Married At First Sight- is this for real?

This can't be real, surely? Who would be insane enough? I've never seen the show, but do they explain if it's actually an official marriage? I would have thought that the whole concept goes against the solemn nature of the legal contract.

God I love this show! He seems nice enough but why no male friends? That's a bit odd. He will be too soft for her . I don't think any if the previous couples lasted, remember Ben & Steph ( I think that was her name) Or Clarke and Melissa, I loved them

DD1 and I have just watched it, we love it. OH though went in the other room muttering how we watch shite. We don't think it's a good match and that she should have been paired with the man who is on next week.

I thought that Bells! They have the couples the wrong way round.

Steph has awful inner upper arm tattoos, makes it look like she has insane under arm hair.

Oh I'm watching plus one and I've missed those. Need to pay more attention

They did seem incredibly mismatched, I agree. He seems like someone who has huge commitment issues too.

Ben from last series was such a dick imo. Seemed to be in it just to get a reality TV career. Felt sorry for Steph who was taking it seriously. And that guy from the first series who went on a dating site and didn't bother telling his wife it was over.

She said "I only want to get married once"! Has she seen the other series of this programme? It is highly unlikely the marriage will work.

The "matched by science" obviously doesn't work as none of the previous marriages have worked have they? Matching someone who seems to hate dogs with a dog owner!

I hope they asked Jonathan if he likes tattoos. The girl has some pretty awful looking ones

I meant to say too that I don't understand that Registrar being happy to carry out these weddings (she has been in every series I believe).

Surely she should believe in marriage and take it more seriously than that? Unless she just likes being on tv?

Yeah I thought he was very camp. The pretty much all female friend thing is highly unusual.

Just watched this - that first couple won't last IMO. He seems nice but not confident / assertive enough for her. I don't think she was into him as much as he was into her.
Shame.

Not read the full thread so someone might have said this already, but the US one seems to have had better success with the matches. Watched the first US series on All4 and the way Doug and Jamie’s relationship evolved was so lovely.

The all female stag do!! They had willy straws... and a tiny princess crown for him! Can anyone shed any light?

Apart from that he does seem nice, I would be concerned about the lack of male friends/ influence in his life but he seems stable, solvent, well brought up and kind, but I think he may turn out to be too soft/ spineless/ lacking passion or interest and she will take that as rejection.

Steph looked lovely on her wedding day. The dress was beautiful.

Love this program...I've binge watched all the series from USA and Oz too (they have more couples on, usually 4 per series). Some of the couples from the US have stayed together and had kids. I do think they have the couples the wrong way round in this one!

It is very awkward and extremely cringey. I love it and have watched all the British, American and Australian series.

As far as google can suggest there have been no success stories on the UK one and 4 out of 18 on the USA one are still together. Agree that Steph and Jonathan seem like a really bad match, he seems as dull as dishwater. No male friends at all? I think that is utterly bizarre

I thought she was very beautiful except for her teeth and so easy to get a few veneers done these days. I used to be a dental nurse so couldn t help myself imagining how easy it would be 'fixing' this. They seemed very happy with each other though but as others have said l wonder if he's 'manly' enough for her.

I watched the last UK series of this is so addictive. I started season 7 of the USA one yesterday... Total binge watch... Nearly typoed bone watch 😂
