Seeing that we are going to be in need of a third thread... My title makes no sense, does it? I had a funny one in mind earlier but it escapes me now. Should have used hot glue gun to make it stick.

She is much better that Leah. Just chose the wrong fabric. Sad

BornInAThunderstorm · 26/03/2019 22:00

That was a surprise Shock I had Jen down as one of the possible winners.

dillite · 26/03/2019 22:00

I think Riccardo's would have been more impactful had it been made of a brighter fabric, maybe even not such see through fabric. Juliette's was beautiful too, that yellow on her model was amazing.

I want Joe's jacket from next week.

SileneOliveira · 26/03/2019 22:02

Jen was robbed.

If she'd ONLY pressed that top properly.

Can't stand Leah. Juliet to win.

dillite · 26/03/2019 22:04

I want Riccardo to win, I think he's shown himself to be an excellent sewer. He's grown a lot and seems to take risks that pay off.

I had Jen picked as the winner - she was so unlucky with that zip.

C'est la vie! Das ist Leib! That; s life!

Such a shame. BUT I WANTED TO KEEP THEM ALL!!!!!

FreezerBird · 26/03/2019 22:04

Riccardo has become my favourite I think - although it was hard to choose GOTW between his and Juliet's. That tweed coat he made last week was one of the loveliest garments I have ever seen, anywhere. I loved it so much.

Miljah · 26/03/2019 22:04

Aw. Sad about that.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/03/2019 22:05

I want Riccardo to win.

Not Leah, though - she's too inconsistent.

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/03/2019 22:06

I thought Jen's top was all kinds of ugly, Leah's just didn't have enough texture for me. I loved Riccardo's, so delicate but with wonderful structure and Juliette's was beautiful and so wearable too.

SileneOliveira · 26/03/2019 22:10

I wonder how they decide how long is appropriate for these challenges

God knows, but they like the drama of the rush at the end.

Marcipex · 26/03/2019 22:10

I really thought Jen would win.

maxbabi · 26/03/2019 22:18

Wrong decision. Leah should have gone home weka ago. Really annoyed

DolorestheNewt · 26/03/2019 22:18

I am really surprised that Leah has made it through to the final. I thought Jen was much more consistent. Would love Riccardo to win, but I think it will be Juliette.

GrumpySausage · 26/03/2019 22:19

I'm amazed at Jen going! I really thought she would win.

Leah has been clinging on for the past 4 weeks.

Huntlybyelection · 26/03/2019 22:23

I am so surprised that Jen is out! She looked stunned as well. I would have bet on Leah going instead...

I loved Juliet' s yellow top, gorgeous and well made. But Riccardo has been consistently brilliant. He should win.

Or Jen. Reinstate Jen.

KittyMcKitty · 26/03/2019 22:33

Well it was celebrations in our house- not Jen fans! Her top was a mess and unfinished- poor Janet was sent home last week for her unfinished coat (Leah should have gone).

So a great 3 for the final. Ricardo for the win - his skill in drafting and M2M outstrips the others.

SoupDragon · 26/03/2019 22:38

Based on this week, Jen was the right choice. There's no good choice at this stage in the competition though.

DolorestheNewt · 26/03/2019 23:01

Even though I think she should have gone instead of Jen, I was pleased for Leah that her dress won the transformation challenge. I didn't particularly like the green pleats, I thought they were clunky, but I thought the way she swept the central pattern down the side was beautiful.

Cocolepew · 26/03/2019 23:40

Oh no poor Jen.
Nice photo of Patrick on his Instagram. No tweed to be seen.

Riccardo's top looked so papery and fragile, and - origami-ish I suppose! Yay! I love him - v pleased for him.

I agree that based on this week, they made the right decision, although they as good as said that Leah wasn't as good a sewist as Jen overall. But if they were looking at this week only then it was fair.

The final should be great. I can't wait a whole week!! Shock

2rebecca · 27/03/2019 09:34

Excellent top Dillite. I was pleased Riccardo worked with organza as I'm trying to make a jacket from chiffon silk atm and it's a nightmare to work with, everything takes 5 times as long as it would with cotton. He did brilliantly to get those pleats right.
I felt a bit sorry for Jen having such a tall broad shouldered model, they maybe should rotate the models around each week. Jen was the right person to go this week. Her make challenge was awful. I'd be terrible at that bit though.
Was delighted with them playing Pretty Little Baby at the end. My mum had that by Connie Francis and it was in Japanese on the B side and I used to play it repeatedly trying to teach myself Japanese by singing along to it.

dontcallmelen · 27/03/2019 11:14

Just catching up, internet decided to go walkabout last night😢

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/03/2019 11:38

Nice photo of Patrick on his Instagram. No tweed to be seen.

I knew it!

His grandad clothes are a form of protective camouflage to save him from predatory Mumsnetters!

HA!!!
