We have some lovely occasional posters who have lived in Korea, are Korean or have Korean partners/family members who pop in from time to time to provide the context for some of the more baffling cultural references.

We are generally fans of all things Korean, so equally happy to talk about Korean cookery, film and kpop when the mood takes us. To get to grips with the lingo, try dramaloveaddicts.proboards.com/thread/24/korean-word-day?page=1

We have a few frequently used acronyms:
FL/2FL = female lead/2nd female lead
ML/2ML = male lead/2nd male lead
SLS = Second Lead Syndrome (where the FL/MLis too thick to realise how much better the 2ML/2FL is)

We also abbreviate titles if they’re long, but only after using the full title & acronym together. Some of the regular favourite actors have been abbreviated too for speed/efficiency, although “him off Black” seems to have stuck for Song Seung-Heon. Don’t be afraid to ask for help/clues if we’re not making sense or have descended into acronym soup.

I’ve had BTS on a loop on my playlist and have downloaded VLIve 😱
I liked Radio Romance, I must admit, was nice to have a different setting.
Currently watching Queen for 7 Days which has Park MIn Young & my secret oppa no one ever mentions Yeon Woo Jin in. I may give Wok of Love another try if I get too Joseon-ed out.

However took a break & watched GOT over breakfast & thought if Bran dyed his hair blue & put on a bit of slap he’d be a Guy from Hwarang lookey-likey

Meanwhile, back in kdramaworld, I am thoroughly enjoying My Fellow Citizens. Siwon aside (lovely outfits, lovely eyes) there is so much to enjoy - especially Hina from Mr Sunshine as the mob boss. Basically reprising her badass Joseon hotellier routine, but she does it so well. I enjoyed her giving all the old guy mob bosses short shrift in the fish warehouse. The FL is good, though she’s in mopey hausfrau mode at the mo & needs to snap out of it and back to brawling.

I’m enjoying Queen for 7 Days but I know it’s all going to go horribly wrong

Damned viki subtitles petering out. I am recapping some of my favourite bits of BTIMFL to entertain myself - Lee Min Ki in classic oddball mode and just as good second time around.

I’ve watched ep 11 of Psychometric now. 👌 Thanks for the spoiler free updates earlier. Now we just need to wait on the subtitles for ep 12 (though I’d wager Betty watched it anyway without ).

I watched the first 2 eps of My Fellow Citizens & liked it but then got sucked into Queen for 7 Days . I will go back to it

Ooofff!! Psychometric is sooooo good! I was hoping by the time I'd watched ep11.. All subs for ep 12 might be done!... It was 7% when I started... Now its 26%!...should be ready by tomorrow! 👍👍👍

I’ve strayed into something called Happy Once Again on Netflix whilst I’m waiting on viki subtitlers, which has turned out to be surprisingly fun. It’s got the lanky best friend prison guard from Prison Playbook and Last Empress. The ‘jumping off point’ is in the trailer so I’m spoiling to say they get shitfaced and wake up married (Empress is at it again! 😆). I am watching for shallow and obvious reasons (hereafter SAOR) because I love a tall, well turned out Kdrama actor. It’s no work of outstanding genius, but it is fun.
