Tonight's episode ShockShockShock Wasn't expecting that!!!

Goatrider · 25/03/2019 21:22

So what's with him breaking the 4th wall? And the God interventions?

Will he just disappear now and it'll never be explained? Or maybe it's an integral part of the whole story 🤔

Tootrousers · 25/03/2019 21:30

I think it’s just to show that she’s met someone who finally gets her like no one else except maybe boo has done before. And she can’t have sex with him which is in some ways a good thing as he can be the friend she doesn’t have. The god Interventions are just that I think.

CountFosco · 25/03/2019 21:39

SPOILERS!!

Loved the scene in the bedroom with her Dad.

Breaking the 4th wall. No idea what it means at all but wondering if it's a bad sign and the HP is not actually any good for our lovely FB. Is he an alcoholic, seems to have a lot of half empty bottles hidden at his place of work? But also, I'm feeling like what happened at the end is no better than cheating in a relationship. He knew she liked him but has been frankly chasing her since episode one (BTW didn't the flashback to the restaurant scene when he asked her what she did have new significance after last week), getting her drunk and vulnerable then he finally snogs her just to have the big show of guilt. And they really need to get a better handyman to put up pictures in the church.

Connieston · 25/03/2019 21:54

That kiss though 😻😻😻

Connieston · 25/03/2019 21:55

kneel

Princesspond · 25/03/2019 22:02

Omg that kiss!

ThanksItHasPockets · 25/03/2019 22:02

OMG.

SunnySomer · 25/03/2019 22:08

I was quite upset by that Kneel stuff, I thought it was going to turn abusive. In fact - she was at her most vulnerable and he knew it so it was. But is that to demonstrate that he is (even more) flawed?

Twerking9to5 · 25/03/2019 22:11

She looked furious at the end! I was pretty cross with him just walking away from her after everything she’d told him. But agree she MUST NOT SHAG HP. Very interested to see where it goes.

Also, episode 1 of S2 has become one of my favourite pieces of comedy ever.

nowifi · 25/03/2019 22:30

That was so good. She is such a marvellous actress, the part where she was confessing was genuinely quite heart breaking to me. I would watch anything with her in, think I'm in love!

Connieston · 25/03/2019 22:36

I feel a bit like Fleabag in the confessional. I want her to tell me what to do in life 😹

Hyacintharehighersincelasttime · 25/03/2019 22:40

He had a confession but she didn't let him talk

Karwomannghia · 25/03/2019 22:51

I bloody love it.
But I thought when I saw the first church service it was Anglican because they were doing peace be with you etc or do they do that in all denominations? I was kind of hoping he’s be an Anglican priest at that point so they could get it on!

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 25/03/2019 23:14

Brilliant episode. Made me quite emotional when she realised he could see her 'fourth walling'. Like she realised that he could see through her and get in to her head, and then she ran away to get away and hide from herself I thought.

The "kneel" thing made me uncomfortable, but then I started wondering if he was telling her to call him Neil? I don't know... Forgot all about it during the hot kiss, where I was equally enjoying the kissing whilst also hoping they wouldn't go further with it... So confused about what I want from them!

BornInAThunderstorm · 25/03/2019 23:20

Aah I have found my people! I love that this programme makes me go from sad to laughing in a moment.
Genuinely in tears during her confession, then laughing out loud at “is this a dress or trousers?”

Connieston · 25/03/2019 23:21

Total girl crush here. 😻 And priest crush sorry also 😻

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 25/03/2019 23:24

Oh god, yes to both Connieston 😍😍

RedForShort · 25/03/2019 23:25

Yes Karwomannghia peace be with you is done in Catholic church too (there's not a massive amount of difference in the services really).

Fab episode. I had to pause it at the bit during the funeral with the ex-boyfriend's trousers. No idea why but it made me cry laughing. As did the tits comment during the Quaker meeting.

Hyacintharehighersincelasttime · 25/03/2019 23:27

Aw Harry and the trousers 😁

CanIKondo · 25/03/2019 23:27
Shock
Hyacintharehighersincelasttime · 25/03/2019 23:27

Just spot on, I too thought Neil

ThanksItHasPockets · 25/03/2019 23:35

Can confirm that the subtitles said ‘kneel’, but I wouldn’t take this as canon 🤷‍♀️

I think he intended to absolve her and then gave in to the temptation.

enjoyingscience · 25/03/2019 23:49

Loved that episode. I found it weirdly upsetting at the ‘kneel’ bit - she was at her most vulnerable and he took advantage (that sounds very prim, but I can’t describe it better!), or at least put himself first. Just felt all wrong, but I guess it’s supposed to when one of them is a priest...

MsFanackerPants · 25/03/2019 23:56

Oh she is just so lost and nobody in her family seems to really notice or care. I can be laughing one minute and ready to cry the next with Fleabag. It's just so good. The tits comment made me proper belly laugh and then I was close to tears when she was talk to Boo about all the love she has. Where can Fleabag put all her love now?
