The acting was particularly wooden this evening. I haven’t seen it since the last fella left.

NotStayingIn · 31/01/2019 22:15

I still watch it, but I don't like it as much as I used to. Love the location, the fact it isn't too gruesome, but not so sure about some of the newer characters. LOVED Ben Miller back in the day! Ardal O'Hanlon is probably my least favourite detective. (I'm talking about Death in Paradise, if there is a Murder in Paradise too ignore me, then I'm talking about the wrong thing!)

CocoLoco87 · 31/01/2019 22:22

Ben Miller was my favourite too, although I had warmed to Humphrey by the time he left. I'm not impressed with the clip of next week's episode. Too much suspense which is not what Death in Paradise is about! Grin it's meant to be easy watching, not worrying for a whole week whether or not Florence is ok!

2rebecca · 01/02/2019 21:16

I still love it

HildaZelda · 01/02/2019 21:29

Oh it's completely shit, but that's what makes it fun Grin
I can't take Ardal O' Hanlon seriously as a detective at all. I just keep waiting for him to say "Oh you're right there Ted" Grin

hugoagogo · 01/02/2019 21:31

Do you mean Death in Paradise?
I can recommend the books.

Helpmedecide123 · 01/02/2019 21:36

Ardal O'Hanlon is awful in this. Absolutely atrocious. Why does he keep doing that boggle eyed head tilt....

Agree Ben Miller was the best but Kris Humphries was also quite good I thought.

And where's Dwayne?!

Iflyaway · 01/02/2019 21:39

I love it cos it's got the Caribbean on telly during a grey cold winter.

It's just Midsommer Murders in the tropics.

Funny to see all the familiar BBC faces from Casualty etc.

lucky them having a jolly in the Caribbean and getting paid for it

Nah, really, I love it. It's on almost permanently on BBC First in the late afternoon/early evening, wonderful after a day's work while doing the domestics.

HildaZelda · 01/02/2019 21:46

@Helpmedecide123, oh I'm really missing Dwayne. He's always been my favourite character. That awful niece of the commissioner is so irritating.

I think Dwayne was written out for a while (on holiday with his estranged father I think) because Danny John Jules was doing Strictly.

NotStayingIn · 01/02/2019 21:56

Same, I just can't take Ardal O' Hanlon seriously. He is almost overacting if that's a thing. It just comes across very OTT and unnatural. Really hope Dwane comes back, he's my favourite character. Not sure the actor did himself any favours going on Strictly? (Didn't watch it, but the media coverage of him seemed quite negative.)

stinkypoo · 01/02/2019 23:47

I love the fact that's so rubbish ! It's easy watching! It is taking me a bit longer to get used to Arden O'hanlon but each Detective has their own way which I like.
I think it's a great easy watching programme.

stinkypoo · 01/02/2019 23:49

And yes, I guess it's why I love Midsomer Murders so much!

Joboy · 01/02/2019 23:52

Not watching anymore as missing Dwayne . As he always made me laugh.
Dont mind arden just dont care about the rest of them so cant be bother now. Sad

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2019 20:14

I love it. Easy watching

Tho a dangerous place to live

Like midsummers 😂😂😂

florentina1 · 03/02/2019 21:30

It is shit. It it used to be good shit. Now it is just boring and formulaic. I read that Dwayne was axed because he was too demanding.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 04/02/2019 18:38

I like the earlier series. Only watch it for Danny John-Jules.

Saint Marie must be the most dangerous place on earth. Do they ever solve other crimes?

DorothyZbornak · 07/02/2019 22:48

I knew that Patrice was shifty! Grin

SinisterBumFacedCat · 08/02/2019 00:10

Florence did a Nicky from Silent Witness there! (Goes heading off into an obviously dangerous situation with no back up)

PrincessScarlett · 08/02/2019 20:06

Well that was a shocking ending last night when it's normally wrapped up so nicely.

Akire · 08/02/2019 23:21

They could try and change the format now and again. Yes we know he’s supposed to be really clever and sees the beer mat, button or book mark and click click all becomes clear but it’s akways exactly the same.

Annoys me like hell that the woman plain clothes officers always wear the smallest vest tops and shorts going. Just not professional at all. The current one never wears a bra either unless she loves wearing a backless monstrosity every day.

Given this main bloke is so laid back why is he always in long trousers and long shirt. Fair enough for first up right guy but expect him to be in shorts and a bright shirt by now

LoniceraJaponica · 08/02/2019 23:39

Do you think that Danny John Jules' character was deliberately called Dwayne - after his alter ego Dwayne Dibley the Duke of Dork in Red Dwarf?

MorningsEleven · 09/02/2019 08:34

I said to DH last night "Isn't it funny how it's always a murder and never a bank robbery or a mugging?" Apparently the clue is in the title of the programme 😲🤣

3out · 09/02/2019 19:54

So, did Patrice do it? And Florence - dead, dead, dead, yeah?

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 09/02/2019 19:57

Sorry cant risist

Dont know about murder in paradise never heard of it

But death n paradise is great
