Revealed who the head is

Don’t click if don’t want to know

head revealed

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/02/2019 13:33

episode 2 recap

storminabuttercup · 27/02/2019 16:09

Ooh that link is very interesting

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2019 20:43

The head. Or the recap

storminabuttercup · 27/02/2019 22:21

The recap and working out who the head belongs to... as in his relation to the other characters (trying not to spoil it)

Clawdy · 27/02/2019 22:23

Even more unlikely than the keys on the table, was the bit, as someone upthread said, where Baptiste's wife told an unknown meter reader to come in, alone at night! Hmm

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 28/02/2019 10:07

where Baptiste's wife told an unknown meter reader to come in, alone at night! Pretty sure it won't be curtains for his wife. I would have thought it unlikely that in purpose built apartments, the meters would be inside the properties anyway?

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2019 13:31

I do love a recap. Incase I’ve missed anything —while on mn—

AngelinaNeurosurgeon · 28/02/2019 16:52

Julien's wife may not be alone, the daughter and son-in-law might be in bed.
I think Baptiste will have called the police as soon as he saw the head and they will turn up before Not-Natalie's-Uncle kills him.

Clawdy · 28/02/2019 17:15

Didn't Julien's wife say to him that the whole family were out?

AngelinaNeurosurgeon · 28/02/2019 19:20

But they could have come back? Thinking about it now Baptiste turned up at the head collector's house in day light as did the head collector but it was dark when the gas reader visited Mrs Baptiste.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2019 21:49

@angelina. Noooooo Baptiste can’t die

I think non uncle is pleased to see him and can talk to him about how his life is being threatened and had head sent to him as a punishment

AngelinaNeurosurgeon · 01/03/2019 06:26

It would be strange if Baptiste died in episode 3 of a drama called Baptiste Grin

AuntieStella · 01/03/2019 06:49

I was wondering if non-gas-man-decapitator is simply going to nick Mme Baptiste's phone. Possibly because he cannot slay her either by plan - murder of wife police consultant might attract a teensy bit more police attention to the case being investigated and they might see that as undesirable; or just because interrupted by a third party.

Because something is going to happen to her phone. Only it won't be her phone, it'll be their DD's (because otherwise what was the point of the scene where they mentioned having the same phonecase and how they often walked off with the wrong one). Tracker? Leading to later kidnap/peril for wrong woman?

Why did the farmer go straight to the hospital after seeing Nathalie's death reported on TV and take the boy recovering from his operation? The farmer is Dutch, Nathalie is Romanian. She gave the boy's father as next of kin when she was admitted to hospital. How does the farmer know Nathalie? Is the boy's father who she gave as next-of-kin his son? Is that how the necklace ended up in his tulip field? Also what is it with the mother and son police officer? In the Missing 2 there was a father and daughter combination with Roger Allam turning out to be implicated. Who sent Baptiste the info about the severed head and why? I have no answers and nothing to usefully contribute, but thanks for being here so I can ask my questions.

Stickladylove88 · 02/03/2019 22:34

I think Baptiste is an elaborate ruse to get us all on smart meters Grin

AuntieStella · 03/03/2019 08:25

Is Natalie Romanian?

She seems likely to have been tied up with the Romanian gang, but that doesn't really tell us about her. We don't know tulip-farmer's previous or current nationality either. It's easy to assume Dutch, because he speaks it and has an utter cliche of a Dutch job, but he could have spring from anywere as a boy.

Or, if to complement hamster-slaying head-keeping fake uncle, he is a real uncle, then it couid have been Natalie's parent who moved away?

But who is the boy's mother? Is it Natalie? Is the boy the real object of fake uncle, because he believes himself to be real father? Natalie was a prostitute, so paternity may have been unclear, but she was already scared of him, so nice-but-druggy boyfriend of the time took him in. Or might be her brother, therefore real uncle to child and real close kin to her.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/03/2019 08:40

We thought Natalie was Eastern European but I would say most likely not Romanian.

Obviously the tulip farmer knew Natalie personally. Maybe he knows the little boy (possibly grandson) to now be in danger?

Ewanthescreamsheep · 03/03/2019 09:58

Ooh Julian is reading CBeebies bedtime story tonight!

mogtheexcellent · 03/03/2019 10:48

I just came on to post that Ewan! Grin

Sunday 6.50 cbeebies. His voice is lovely so shall enjoy this.

LillianGish · 03/03/2019 13:58

Don’t forget Nathalie’s sister is still enslaved somewhere by the Romanian gang.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/03/2019 14:25

Baptiste isn't yet aware that Nathalie has a sister who still needs to be rescued, is he?

Ewanthescreamsheep · 03/03/2019 15:15

Very much looking forward to it Mog; his voice will be perfect for it.

LillianGish · 03/03/2019 16:13

I’m convinced there is some significance in the opening sequences - So “A shell’s just a shell never mind what it looks like on the outside” in the first episode and then “There’s no point pretending to be one thing when really you are another” in the second. The message is the same - you are what you are. Just watched again with my son - the farmer (who surely must be Dutch or why would he think aloud to his dog in Dutch?) looks at his post before he goes to the police, sees Nathalie on TV and then immediately goes home and opens a letter. I can’t read Dutch, but this letter appears to prompt him to go immediately to the hospital to get the boy. The only way I can think the farmer is linked to Nathalie is if he were one of her clients. Edward’s story about the bully and the mouse seems to me to have a direct parallel with the decapitated man and the head in the basement “Everyone cares about something, everyone’s got something to lose.” The Romanians have done to Edward what Edward did to a school bully. The only reason Interpol might have sent Baptiste the info about the decapitated man, is because there is some link between him and Edward Stratton and it is that email that prompts Baptiste to go to the house in Antwerp. Edward Stratton’s involvement with the Romanians might explain how his father (or whoever the decapitated man is) recognised the accent when the gasman arrived. Could Edward have become involved with them when trying to rescue his own daughter Lucy from whatever befell her in Amsterdam?

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/03/2019 20:03

Ahhhhh as I know who the head belongs to - I can’t reply to a poster as the. Will give it away

Wish I didn’t see the link :(

The boy tho. Haven’t a clue

An hour to go ;)
