Did anyone else get a bit excited for the trailer for that?

Also now we have Silent Witness and LoD in the Horizom I may never leave the house.

Some random thoughts and questiins.
Could Stratton actually be Billy Lomax, who has assumed a new identity?
I think Stratton may be actually working against the Romanian gang from the inside, in revenge for his daughters death, and genuinely cares about Natalie because of his daughter.
Anyone remember a Romanian gang was in S1 - at one point they were suspected of the boys abduction, I wonder if there's a link?
Does Baptiste have a damaged right arm as well as a dodgy leg? I remember how he hurt his leg but not his arm which seemed quite stiff tonight.
Can Baptiste have his S1 haircut and donkey jacket back please?
Finally what are they doing in Amsterdam? Are they in their daughters flat?

Budsbegginingspringinsight · 24/02/2019 22:39

I also think he's trying to work on inside and knows half police paid off.

The gas meter man said... Edwards got a Man helping him...

But Edward broke that girls jaw....

Intriguing.. .. Romanians Def have something on Edward.

What did he do with the address...he sat in café and gave it to them?

thenightsky · 24/02/2019 23:09

I clocked that the cafe bar lady is/was a man as soon as she spoke.

Totally. Is she/he an escapee of the trans brothel then?

I'm also very cross that JB left his car keys on the bar to be taken Angry. VERY amateur/rookie/schoolboy error totally out of character.

Hurrah a lovely policeman for me to look at.

Of course this means he will die a grizzly death in episode 5.

RedForShort · 24/02/2019 23:18

I really don't have a clue what's going on. I just have to post or this thread will fall off my 'I'm on' posts.

Man without his head - could be be somehow connected to the reason Hollander had no record in UK and not know by inter pol? Bit vague as i can't think what that reason might be!!!

legolimb · 24/02/2019 23:41

*blondes" apparently the water is very clean(according to our boat tour guide last year) Grin

Hmm well I am more confused than ever now.

Was the farmer related to Natalie Rose? Client?

If I were him I'd take the bag of cash and scarper. It seems a dangerous place to hang around.

And yes Mrs Baptiste- ask for ID first before letting a murdering decapitator into your apartment. Sheesh!!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/02/2019 06:47

I would have thought Mrs Baptiste would have recognised the 'gas meter reader' - he was the same guy who bumped into her at the supermarket. Sure she will do so before she let's him in to the flat (although there will be a scuffle)?

Baptiste likely to get out of his sticky situation too, although not sure how...

Tom Hollander is tiny isn't he? Reckon he's probably not more than about 5 foot five. The way he's playing Edward Stratton, I wonder if he's supposed to be on drugs?

Clearly Kim's boyfriend isn't in the loop. Wonder if he will turn out to be good or bad guy?

AuntieStella · 25/02/2019 07:56

I think tulip farmer is Natalie's father or (real) uncle, and she returned to his fields to bury the cash. That's why he was so upset when he saw the news item saying she had been found drowned.

I'd forgotten that the nastiest villains in Missing 1 were Romanians. Are gangs originating there particularly notorious? Or is there likely to be a tie up?

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/02/2019 08:08

@leg your tour guide obv didn’t see the fag butts

Tho they may have been Natalie’s

Yes the farmer def knew NATALIE

His dog was lovely. Half thought would be dead when came out of police station

And yes what is the interest of bushy eyebrow policeman fake testicle

Assume had testicular cancer?

So sad about NATALIE. A tragic accident tho batiste will feel guilty

And the head. Again Edward didn’t seem that bothered that Baptiste found it

Man killed / head did look a bit like farner. Wonder if related to NATALIE

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/02/2019 09:11

And the head. Again Edward didn’t seem that bothered that Baptiste found it. Why would you leave a decaying head lying about the place? Thinking now that it's being kept as a trophy rather than being placed in Edward's house as a warning?

Yes, it would appear that Baptiste isn't as sharp as he used to be...

Yes, I assumed the young policeman was going to see about having a prosthesis fitted after testicular cancer (although didn't clock the significance of the first scene until the Dutch police commissioner was telling Baptiste about it in the cafe).

I think that tie-up (doctor's consultation and then later info about the young detective's cancer) is key to the way things are revealed - almost back-to-front.

storminabuttercup · 25/02/2019 15:10

Signing in to follow this. I’m gripped so far. It’s just as cryptic as the missing isn’t it? I’m looking for clues all the time

keepondreaming · 25/02/2019 16:51

Every time I see the lovely dog, with his big soppy eyes full of loyalty for his tulip dad, I just know they'll be tears at some point...

Really enjoying this series so far, I like that it's not obvious and makes me think.

keepondreaming · 25/02/2019 16:51
  • there will be tears Confused
NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/02/2019 17:35

The dog might save the day...

KittensAndCake · 25/02/2019 18:54

Nope, the dogs going to die, they always die 😭

aristocat · 25/02/2019 20:22

Yes, kittens I agree, the dogs always die.

HalleLouja · 25/02/2019 22:18

Mmmm no questions answered this week. Just lots of new questions. Like how are Julienne and Mrs B going to survive. Plus mainly what has the Commander’s son having cancer got to do with it?

OP posts:
AuntieStella · 25/02/2019 22:32

My accursed DC spoke to me several times whilst it was on yesterday.

Did we learn for sure that it was cancer? The way he was talking, about appearances and whether they reflected the truth, couid have several potential meanings.

Presumably the doc is also working on F to M surgeries (and vice versa). So was the purpose of the scene to introduce her?

girraffeduck · 26/02/2019 00:08

I thought the son might be a FTM rather than having cancer

Ilovetea33 · 26/02/2019 00:32

His mother said that it was cancer.

Bowchicawowow · 26/02/2019 06:53

His mother could be lying though?

JustDanceAddict · 26/02/2019 08:03

The mum said he’d been ill, didn’t specify cancer.,

aristocat · 26/02/2019 08:29

Could he be Baptist's son?

aristocat · 26/02/2019 08:30

Oops Baptiste Wink

Ilovetea33 · 26/02/2019 09:12

His mother specifically said it was cancer. Also, this is from the Radio Times website:
Who is Niels? Martha’s son Niels is a young, ambitious police officer who has been through some hard times: he recovered from testicular cancer a couple of years ago.
