Did anyone else get a bit excited for the trailer for that?

Also now we have Silent Witness and LoD in the Horizom I may never leave the house.

And the only remaining mystery is where is Natalie’s sister and the other women? But that SL hasn’t progressed at all since the first episode, so I assume they’ll be conveniently discovered in the final episode.

I think she was there as a reason for Natalie to want to steal the money, but then very quickly she apparently gave up on the sister and repurposed the money for saving the boy. I'm not even convinced we'll hear about the sister again.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 12/03/2019 13:22

ColeHawlins if your hunch is true what on earth will be in the two remaining episodes?

ColeHawlins · 12/03/2019 15:13

Still a story arc to play out to bring Niels and Baptiste to some kind of accommodation with each other. Plus the whole business of Jessica Raines as guilty mistress. Also Kim (I have a bad feeling there).

All the characters are in flux at the moment. Another death and a couple more major twists?

I don't know, really, but if you look at the amount of dashing around versus the amount of actual story progress so far, that's a lot of fluster and bluster for each genuine plot development.

Maybe we will get a happy postscript about the sister near the end. I'm just disenchanted with the whole thing.

WhoGivesDamn
How is Niels dodgy- what did I miss ?
I know it was odd him going to the loo at the petrol station and Baptiste coming in. Who was Niels talking to ?

AuntieStella · 13/03/2019 07:13

It's still just speculation about Niels.

I think the reason people are discussing these series less each time is that the reputation (that every bit is tightly plotted, no red herrings, loose ends etc) has been contradicted each time - especially Missing 2 which I felt had a very disappointingly flabby denouement. So the things that MNers spot may not matte, so what's the point in spotting them (which was essentially what the longer threads for earlier programmes were)

I don't get why Mr Not-a-pervert threw crisps into the basement.

And Niels being dodgy is still just speculation. The only thing against him so far is that sparse moustache which really does not look right with such heavy brows

AvonCallingBarksdale · 13/03/2019 09:02

AuntieStella ooh gosh I thought Missing 2 was really well done at the end! I can still see Keeley Hawkes saying “I’ve got you” when her daughter ran out 😢. Baptiste, au contraire, I’m struggling with Confused. Just hasn’t got the same oomph I feel.

LillianandJustin · 13/03/2019 09:18

I think the Niels being dodgy speculation is based on the fact that when Baptiste asked Nathalie why she didn’t go to the police she said it was because the police were involved and she didn’t know who she could trust. This reminded me that in The Missing 2 there was the Roger Allam father and daughter military police combination in which Roger Allam was dodgy (mirroring the mother and son combo in Baptiste possibly?) DD thinks Niels being Baptiste’s son will be what saves him when Niels is revealed to be a villain as Baptiste reveals “but I am your father”.

ColeHawlins · 13/03/2019 09:19

In a way, you couldn't introduce a long-list son to a programme like this and NOT have some kind of moral conflict.

LillianandJustin · 13/03/2019 10:08

Agree Cole - otherwise what’s the point? I’m already slightly unclear why Baptiste’ family are living in Amsterdam and why he and his wife are living with them. Much preferred it when he was just a detective brought in to detect - finding the whole family involvement/threat to his family too much.

NotPennysBoat · 13/03/2019 21:32

I too have a feeling Niels is dodgy. I think Wotsit guy will spot something on his cctv of the garage toilets and discover exactly who he was on the phone to when Baptiste walked in.
This weeks episode was just too far-fetched and ridiculous.

Oblomov19 · 13/03/2019 21:45

Watched episode 4 tonight. So there are 2 of the 6 left?
Still can't make my mind up if this is any good!!

HalleLouja · 14/03/2019 15:44

So Rev was playing everyone. Baptiste definitely is slacking as he was one of those played. Although he did find the money through a lot of unbelievable coincidences. Poor Kim was also played by the other dodgy Romanians. Martha got the heave ho. Genevieve had an affair with someone who got attacker by Constantin.

I am not sure how the next two episodes are going to play out. I wonder who Rev is really working for.

Ps I am not sure if Niels is dodgy but would like to watch that scene with him at the doctors again.

HalleLouja · 14/03/2019 15:48

Ok just rewatched it and it looks like it’s done kind of surgery to give him balls again. I thought it might be linked to the TGW.

Exciting episode tonight!

peanutbutterandbanana · 17/03/2019 22:00

I'm so out of the loop. Which one is Martha? The blonde police woman?

purpleme12 · 17/03/2019 22:03

Yes

Dulra · 17/03/2019 22:06

Very tense definitely better episode than last week. Poor Edward, would have been better he was killed he'll never forgive himself

Clawdy · 17/03/2019 22:08

Can't think it is Martha betraying them all. Still not sure why she chose now to tell Baptiste and her son about the parentage though.

longtompot · 17/03/2019 22:09

A much better episode. Very tense. I can't wait until next weeks episode.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 17/03/2019 22:15

Yes much better this week. What’s happened to the girls who tried to escape, we didn’t see them again did we?

Romcomjunkie · 17/03/2019 22:56

It’s all gone a bit gangland for me, no mystery, intrigue or creepiness... and the gang knew about Stratton’s ex wife so why weren’t they staking out her house too when he went awol?

AuntieStella · 17/03/2019 23:06

She didn't tell Baptiste - he guessed after Niels' comment about his blood group, then arranged DNA from the discarded coffee cups, and had a showdown with her (during which IIRC he went on about it being important to know the truth)

I did wonder about Martha being a baddie after that phone call. Presumably she lent Niels to Baptiste a couple of episodes ago because it wouid be easy to ask conversationally about what they were up to? Or he could be in it with her, not just her stooge?

We don't know if Kim/Dragomir was murdered by Constantin or by the other higher-up Serbilu murderers (who did the defenestration). Or quite what her boyfriend has found.

keepondreaming · 17/03/2019 23:25

I'm wondering if it's Kim's boyfriend who threw Constantine off his veranda?

Nice turn Baptiste buying the boat with the money!

Yes, a tense episode! Poor Edward.

Nelumbo · 17/03/2019 23:27

That was a good episode.
I agree with others that I think Niels is hiding something and possibly a baddie.
Is next week's the last one then?
