Yes, that was quite a good episode. I'm looking forward to Hong Kong again. From memory, the next episode is lots of gun firing and stuff on a training exercise?

Hi all - I watched episode 1 series 2 again as part of my dipping in and going over some of them. So enjoyed all your comments last. I did think the Colonel in his hospital bed in button up shirt and tie, and rather incongruous head bandage, was hilarious (as ILove mentioned). Working out that this series was aired around 1995 I found that a bit daft. Long before then on TV we had seen people in hospital beds with only hospital gowns on, and if they meant it to be when he was dressed and ready to be discharged why were the Padre and Rachel visiting? Not quite sure what that was supposed to represent. Surely not trying to be coy about the odd naked shoulder etc on show 😱

Magi when I saw Colonel Dan with that ridiculous bandage, he reminded me of Pudsey Bear!

Hi all. Been away for a few days and have come back to find my series 6 DVD has arrived so I've watched the first two episodes tonight. It's so addictive! A lot of new characters in this series.

Did everyone survive the storm at the weekend?

Morning. Didn't have too bad a time with the storm ILove. Now you're on to series 6 I'll be interested to see what you think of some of the episodes. This was the series that made me mutter a bit about credibility sometimes and I think maybe it was less enjoyable for me than what had gone before. Then it all picked up again and was more to my liking. See how you find it. Don't want to say too much as the watchalongs of this one are a long way off! Certainly lots of new characters.

Ladies, in the coffee queue this morning, I heard a man say to another 'I'm too late to tap you for a coffee', which reminded me of that scene in OG2:5, when CJ sees Elvis and Georgie talking in the barracks square, totally misreads the situation and hauls in Elvis to tell him to back off. It's a brilliant and funny scene.
It's also what I meissed in OG 3:5 onwards - those boy-to-boy chats that CJ could have with a friend. If I were to make excuses, it could be why the Georgie thing happened - and why she got away with over-stepping. Discuss?

Well, well, look who's just turned up in Soldier Soldier episode 5 of series 6.... none other than Georgie's Dad Max from Our Girl. He confused me a bit at first as he was speaking with a Scottish accent.

eejit I really think CJ was too far advanced with his PTSD for it to have made any difference if he had had any mates to chat with. As for Georgie, she was a bit like a heat seeking missile and CJ was happy to succumb to her charms.

I do agree with you though that the banter CJ and Elvis used to have made the episodes come to life. I particularly liked it when Elvis was in the shower (series 2, episode 2), though it wasn't just the banter I liked there!
