Can you believe we are on thread 50! This is for all discussions on the BBC series Our Girl and any possible future series. Reference to Captain James is particularly welcome.

That American guy is very irritating, whether he's drunk or sober.

Dolly Parton not Tammy Wynette Rhu, haha.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:41

But it was Tammy Wynette who sang it first.

Ilovelblue · 26/03/2019 21:42

I do like the padre and his sense of humour. What does he actually do when he's not padre-ing?

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:43

Remember the Padre in Bluestone 42 ilove - hope he doesn't do that!

eejittwo · 26/03/2019 21:43

Now Dave is home.

Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:44

Now we have the flute music - this means it's sentimental/sad/romantic. Now the annoying American guy is going to help Donna see sense.

Ilovelblue · 26/03/2019 21:45

Hmmm, I can't think now. Remind me once we've finished this watchalong Rhu.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:46

Looks like Donna's got a range of white shoes of various heel heights.

Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:47

The Padre was a 'she' who had, what I will only call the 'hots' for lovely Nick.

eejittwo · 26/03/2019 21:47

Hm, I’ve already finished. Cut for adverts AND shorter!

Ilovelblue · 26/03/2019 21:48

Oh yes, of course! I came to Bluestone 42 quite late on.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:48

I wonder how hot it is at night? Would you want to sleep under the bedclothes.

Ilovelblue · 26/03/2019 21:49

Eejit when you were t alking about the fish in the restaurant, I realised you had somehow got ahead of us.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:50

Oh we've moved onto the violin theme - so now it's very serious stuff. Back to the flute - all is well!

Ilovelblue · 26/03/2019 21:52

All is well in the Tucker household (for now anyway).

So what are we doing next week ladies? Which night?

OP posts:
eejittwo · 26/03/2019 21:52

That’s all I bed. Took the laptop into the living room instead of the kitchen table, and it SULKED at being plugged into a different socket. When I took it back ‘home’, it was perfectly happy and lit up charging right away. Talk about Marvin the paranoid android!

eejittwo · 26/03/2019 21:53

Next Tuesday fine with me.

Ilovelblue · 26/03/2019 21:53

Tuesday is ok by me too.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:54

Music has played quite a role in that episode - lots of different themes played out by the tunes. Obviously, rock guitar is for the action stuff and the flute and violins for the softer more emotional scenes.

Rhubarb01 · 26/03/2019 21:54

Tuesday all right with me as well.

Magi84 · 27/03/2019 06:37

Hello everyone. Well I thoroughly enjoyed reading your watchalong chat this morning. I watched it all on UK/TV and hadn't realised they'd cut bits out but it does explain the fact that sometimes it seemed a little odd. Donna's character certainly changes a lot through the later series and in fact develops well.

I must admit I admire very much how you all appreciate the music. I am afraid I am one of those awful people who just either doesn't even here it or in some cases finds it annoying! Not got a good ear suppose! Having said that funnily enough I did hear and loved the music from the first series of OG.

Magi84 · 27/03/2019 11:16

Should read "hear" not "here"!! I can spell honest😇

eejittwo · 28/03/2019 18:04

Bit like my 'bed' above - I meant 'need". Anyhow, turned out the charger had died, not the battery or any other part of the laptop. Phew!

Ilovelblue · 29/03/2019 10:18

Bet you were worried eejit. At least a replacement charger is cheaper than a new laptop!

Since finishing work, Doctors on BBC1 is my guilty pleasure. Addictive trash really. Lt Kate Butler (Lesley Vickerage) was on it earlier this week. She has really aged! I wadn't even sure it was her at first.

I need to get a new thread ready for our next watchalong. Do we need to change the title at all? Any ideas?

Ladies - I have just seen a box set of the complete second series of ROME at a SIGNIFICANT mark-down in a local shop.

  1. Does anyone else remember ROME?
  2. If you do, is that the series with Cleopatra?
