Tennis Thread:- The players are all on holiday, 2018 is coming to an end, but 2019 is around the corner and there will be lots to look forward to!

I'm still in denial it's nearly December- which means ds will be 16 , and I will be 47 and another year will be over.

So glad it's re-opened, safe travels magi - hope it all goes well. Have a lovely time with the DGC.

Raahh I love your idea of a sort of Calendar Girls type arrangement for the ATP calendar!! I googled and the only tennis calendar I could find was a 2019 US Open one with really out of date pictures. And no knitwear was involved. There's definitely a gap in the market.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas. I finished work yesterday so have got loads of stuff to do today! Every year I say I am going to be more organised and I never am!!

Private I'm ok, it's been a hard year for ds, and it has been difficult for the family- but we will get there, (I can't believe he is 16 next week, either!! )

Tennis has definitely been my break from reality ( that, bad soap operas, and reality singing shows ).

I was in hospital with kidney stones watching Chickenato - I paid for a 24 hour pass so I could watch the tennis . It was a great match. .

Not a match, but Rafa in his Wellies, helping the clean up effort in Majorca.

And Stefanos' hair. It probably has it's own twitter account.

Delpo v Rafa will stand out as not only one of the best ever matches- but also one of the matches played in the best of spirits. Neither of them deserved to lose that. And the Henman /Murray commentary- the whole package- it was a total joy, the whole match.

I completely agree Raahh. One of my favourite matches of all time. A total classic.

I just realised I was getting my players mixed up - it was Dzumhur who slid under the net wasn't it? I think they both have luxuriant beards, so maybe that's why I was confused?!

I can't believe I forgot to mention Tsitsipas in my list - he was definitely a highlight!

What would we do without AC? Raahh I would certainly be less stressed and more calm! I can't help shouting muttering at the tv things like......"shut the f**# up, you useless, annoying, egotistical prat" whenever he or his voice makes an appearance I really need to try to be more tolerant but he just winds me up!

I love this thread - I haven’t got any tennis friends in RL - no one who would appreciate Delpo in a fisherman’s jumper, Rafa in his wellies or Tsitsipas’s hair anyway

My favourite tennis moments have been Rafa winning the French Open, the Rafa/Novak match at Wimbledon (although not the result), the mad ramblings of AC and being able to share it all with like minded people on here.

Looking forward to the 2019 tennis season - hope it’s a good one!

All this reminiscing has somehow got me watching Rafa v Delpo on YouTube again
