Although I can't think about January yet...

I'm still in denial it's nearly December- which means ds will be 16 , and I will be 47 and another year will be over.

Raahh the only Swedish I can speak is Swedish Chef Grin

PrivateParkin · 19/01/2019 12:51
Grin Happy birthday Stefan! Cake
Raahh · 19/01/2019 13:31

Looks like Pouille is clawing this back.

Big effort from Popyrin though- and it's not over yet.

And he takes it .

That was great wasn't it Raahh - well I just saw the last set and a half. Great atmosphere! Popyrin looks like he will be great - his first ever five setter as well.

I liked the commentator when Mac came over to do the interview: "Here's another ordeal for Pouille" Grin

Raahh · 19/01/2019 13:46

There have been quite a few really good 5 set matches this tournament- exciting ones, not Isner -like ones Grin.

PrivateParkin · 19/01/2019 13:52

There definitely have! It's been really good.

Raahh · 19/01/2019 13:56

RBA is playing Cilic tomorrow- they will both be wanting to avoid another 5 setter. Grin

I'm a bit torn- I love Marin, but RBA has been so good this tournament.

PrivateParkin · 19/01/2019 14:03

Yes I feel the same. I think RBA could do it though...

kazzaD66 · 19/01/2019 14:08

Happy birthday Stefan (who I prematurely aged a few days ago, when I said he is a year older than me. I realised after I posted, he's only a couple of months older Confused ).
Looking forward to watching the BBC highlights shortly - although obviously, that could depend on which match(es) they show......and who is commentating /analysing Grin

PrivateParkin · 19/01/2019 15:04

Just watching the highlights (while pretending to tidy up etc). That Murray match seems years ago - was that really only Monday?!

BagelGoesWalking · 19/01/2019 16:28

Goddamn recording of Pouille v Popyrin finished at deuce in potentially the last game (really should have done the add 1 hr option 🤣) but sounds like he won. Good match. Enjoyed Halep's match as well, glad she's through to a 2nd week.

magimedi · 19/01/2019 16:41

Lovely to see some tennis (highlights).

Was struck by how old Roger looked in that interview.

Still love Shaggy - he played so well in that 3rd set.

Halep looks good - hope she beats Serena.

Raahh · 19/01/2019 16:55

Oh I have everything crossed for Halep. When I was at my mum's and we were hoping that Bouchard would beat her ( even though we don't like her either), it was very apparent that without the power behind her serve- she is unable to move. Once Serena lost her first serve, Eugenie won a couple of points off her second- by making her run a bit.

So Simona needs to make her move.

Magi are you talking about the Fed interview re Andy? Cos I thought the same Wink

Fizzywinegum · 19/01/2019 17:30

Also not impressed with the stonewashed denim outfit that Halep was wearing - the AO is not doing well in the fashion stakes!

Raahh · 19/01/2019 17:40

Fizzy it really is not a good a good year Grin. It's like someone left Serena in charge Wink.

Oh dear Raahh - maybe that’s what’s happened! When everyone starts wearing tutus we’ll know for sure Grin

PrivateParkin · 19/01/2019 21:56

Fab clip of Edberg here: "Oh that's marvellous!" Smile

PrivateParkin · 19/01/2019 21:58

A tutu would go well with Rafa's napkin top Grin

I'm tempted to stay up for the tennis. But I'm shattered, and I've got loads of stuff on tomorrow. But... Hmm... it is tempting...

magimedi · 19/01/2019 22:31

kazza - yes I am.

Private - much as I love tennis I love my sleep more. Very little, save major family crisis is worth a night of bad sleep.

kazzaD66 · 19/01/2019 23:03

Private thanks for the Edberg clip. Great rally but his best shot was his backhand down the line - a thing of beauty (as indeed was Stefan himself!)Grin
Was that the legend that was Dan Maskell commentating? Watched it on very low volume so DH can't hear Wink

JaneJeffer · 20/01/2019 06:27

Just score checking. Looks good for Rafa. Tie-break...

JaneJeffer · 20/01/2019 06:35

Vamos!

PrivateParkin · 20/01/2019 07:04

Wow comprehensive scoreline for Rafa! I see Grigor is out as well Sad although I do like Tifoe a lot.
