Tree decorating in my house does not look like this

Not putting up a tree this year, as will be away with DGC.

I have always hated doing the tree & always tried to leave it to DH & DC.

I don't mind putting it up, but I hate taking it down. The thought of taking it down in Jan is almost enough to stop me putting it up in the first place! But if Grigor came over to help I think that would make the whole thing a lot easier...

Taking it down is a great joy! Room then seems so big, clean & light.

Wow, look at that, erm... tree

Nope, my tree went up on Saturday, I always do it first weekend of December. This year i even managed to do the lights without turning into my mother and taking them off a dozen times and starting again. .

The dc were supposed to be 'helping' but not much helping got done. I have a very mixed bag of decorations on it, loosely red and white themed, and mostly soft/ unbreakable from when the dc were small.
Now I avoid putting things too low down, or all I hear is the dog brushing against it .

I went to Ikea yesterday, and survived. I feel that should be a t-shirt slogan.

Private I have just noticed your name change. I'm not very observant

I used to name change for Christmas, I had some good ones. fRaahhnkincense, We3KingsofOrientRaahh- but I kept forgetting how to spell them.

I love the festive names Raahh! Good work with the tree - it sounds fab. We haven't done ours yet - probably next weekend.

Well done for surviving Ikea as well - definitely slogan T-shirt material. Maybe we could all have one - you could have that and we could have "Raahh went to Ikea and all she got me was this lousy t-shirt"

It was pouring down here earlier but seems to have stopped now.

Trying not to get too busy and stressed about Christmas - I do enjoy it but it all seems like a lot of work - our Christmas tree will be going up next weekend - maybe a handsome tennis player could help me out

I've been scouring Instagram etc for some more festive/holiday snaps of tennis players but nothing doing as yet.

I think the Albert Hall legends is on this week - presume some of that will be on TV? I've got a feeling that Goran is in it - hope so. I know Greg definitely is!!

I am sick of this weather, and wish it would make it's mind up.
It is chucking it down with rain today, whereas as yesterday it was freezing, and even the bin lids were frozen shut.

I want to live somewhere with consistent weather.

That looks cool- though my dog is very much of the 'you threw it, you fetch it' persuasion.

Our last dog was like that and never fetched a thing in her life. This one would play fetch to his death (or mine).

I might do that when I next go to my local post office. The air fresheners they use make me feel panicky. Although I may get arrested.

I hate the smell of air fresheners & I have to cross the road when I pass Lush. Vile.

So now we know Djok's weakness... Perhaps Rafa and co should sabotage his racquet bag with Lush products?!
