Checking in. Thanks for the new thread.

Clawdy · 26/11/2018 08:50

Pretty certain she said Charles had five points, when she meant he was fifth though? It was very confusing.

DragonFire99 · 26/11/2018 09:18

Gawd! What a shocker. Ashley in the DO! Hurrah.

I also thought Bruno was unecessarily vile. No need for that.

Grame and Oti were lovely and professional.

ChoccyJules · 26/11/2018 09:38

Thank you to the lovely Arlene Phillips for choreographing the opening number, shame we didn’t think she was lovely enough to be seen on camera when we sacked her as a judge or she would now be head judge and we wouldn’t be having the most dismally cursed series ever.

ohhhhh there you all are Grin I was wondering where you got to. Thanks for the thread *pawnee

Ah you're back Schaden Grin that'll teach to have a life !!

Yes Arlene Philip's choreo is soo much better than the resident Strictly's. Maybe there were too many dancers in the opening number, good to see pro disabled dancers though. I loved DAVID BOWIE !!!

Not so poor old Rod Stewart. Some people don't know when to take a rest!!! Those girls in pink WTF like something out of the ark!!!!

ppeatfruit · 26/11/2018 11:03

Sorry for the typos.

dontcallmelen · 26/11/2018 11:07

Schaden I have the pencil & special notebook, am writing it down twice, goes to shed to find muskets & mini cannon.

Encyclo · 26/11/2018 11:19

After her comments in the Claudatorium, I think Karen is slightly dreading the Rumba. She seems to be having some sort of crisis of confidence, so I’m now totally rooting for the two of them.
Come on Charles and Karen!!!

Chipstick10 · 26/11/2018 11:22

Please please please can someone tell me what Bruno said. I’m not in the country atm so didn’t see it.

ppeatfruit · 26/11/2018 11:23

Encylo I thought that Karen and Stacey's delight when with Claude after surviving being in the DO was wonderful to see!!!!

Maybe it wasn't JUST for that!

Figgygal · 26/11/2018 11:33

Checking in
I think I'm veering towards team Faye now
If Lauren doesn't go this week though I'll be fuming even my 6 yo ds laughed this morning when I told him it was Ashley v Graeme and said how on earth did Lauren dodge it again Grin

SoSobored · 26/11/2018 11:34

I can't stand Faye. She seems so full of pretense. I really really hope Stacey wins. (Also I cannot stand Lauren)

CassandraCross · 26/11/2018 11:37

Chipstick he said:

"No disrespect but it’s evident. Overall much much stronger on every level, come on, it’s Ashley. Ashley and Pasha.”

and Craig said it was a "No brainer."

The tone in which Bruno delivered the comment wasn't great it was very belittling towards Graeme.

Everyone knew who'd win the Dance Off the harsh comments were unnecessary.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 26/11/2018 11:51

"the most dismally cursed season ever"
Quite Grin

I'm back to reminiscing, I don't think I've ever seen this champions dance:

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 26/11/2018 11:59

Pro jives to the same Prince track! The second one is awful/amazing - Artem looks a bit embarrassed Grin

Chipstick10 · 26/11/2018 12:00

Thanks Cassandra . I am rooting for Charles. Faye is a dancer and also false modesty displayed by her and Ashley is so off putting. Lauren does nothing for me. Joe ditto and I actively cannot stand Stacey. She is irritating. Fake and I loathe Kevin. In fact I’ve lost the will this series. The judges need to be replaced and Tess.

Binglebong · 26/11/2018 12:25

Does anyone else remember Colin Jackson's car crash show dance?Grin

Satsumaeater · 26/11/2018 12:25

I sent all my votes to Lauren this week because I enjoyed her dance, thought she was undermarked and thought it was Graeme's turn to go.

And the judges fixed the Lindy-hop-athon.

And I thought the comments from the judges about the dance-off were unnecessariily mean except Darcey. Even Shirley didn't need to say she agreed 100%, she could have said, yes I did agree and left it at that. Bruno was particularly mean. They really don't like it when the Great British Public disagree with them do they?

Inkanta · 26/11/2018 12:38

"They really don't like it when the Great British Public disagree with them do they?"

The viewers have a strong sense of fair play. Watching Ashley on Saturday she reminded me of how (professional dancer) Ola might dance it. How can a week by week improving novice compete with that.

CassandraCross · 26/11/2018 12:40

Binglebong unfortunately, yes, I do. I have tried to wipe it from my brain along with Chris Hollins Charleston but it just won't goGrin.

Overall I find most of the Showdances disappointing, there are only a couple that stick in my memory as having a wow factor I think the show should ditch them, particularly as we've had the Couples Choice thing this year. If they are going to keep the Couples Choice, which I suspect they are, they should put it in the Final instead of the Showdance.

It was pretty obvious even before a single couple took to the floor in the LindyHop-a-thon where the Judges would place them Satsumaeater, it was as Craig said a "No brainer" to predict.

CurbsideProphet · 26/11/2018 12:42

Gareth the difference in those two professional jives Shock Shock the second one was just all posturing and posing Confused

Inkanta · 26/11/2018 12:48

I did wonder if when he said 'no brainer' he was alluding to the fact Ashley is a professional dancer and that no-one has chance against that.

I'm rooting for Charles now Smile Glitterball

CassandraCross · 26/11/2018 12:49

The Judges need to be careful and not go down the route of putting Ashley at the top of the Leaderboad every week from now to the Final in an effort to 'save' her as they have done in the past when their favourite/the best dancer has ended up in the Dance Off. It will only serve to alienate the public and we will have more shock dance offs.
