Morning all - just!

Just a quick one but due to a change of plan I'm now around for SCD tonight di if anyone fancies a semi final chat along at a slower pace than the SCD thread I am very happy to oblige.

Alpacas ilove interesting! I encountered some on a holiday in Yorkshire a few years ago. They were curious but shy at the same time.

kazzaD66 · 08/12/2018 12:57

Rhu I'm usually eating dinner when SCD starts, so record it and watch back later - plus, it means I can fast forward half of it (like Tess, the entrance of judges and contestants and the ridiculous VTs of those I don't have any interest in!). It's amazing how quickly you can watch it that way Grin
I shall read any comments though, as well as those on the main SCD thread.

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 16:46

Rhu happy to do a SCD watchalong. It seems ages since we did one. I am a bit like kazza and often record and start watching about 15 mins in so that I can avoid the stupid "fill-ins" from Tess and especially Claudia. I'm nursing a sore throat and cough at the moment and feeling sorry for myself so will be watching live tonight. Plus, it's the semi-final and I am looking forward to it. I'm protecting our bet too - Stacey, Joe, Ashley and Faye. I read somewhere this week (possibly a comment from the Radio Times online) that we Brits support those who have no dance experience and any non-British contestants have never won to date so that means Ashley isn't likely to hold the glitterball. It would seem good news for Joe and Stacey with that theory.

I admire you all for being able to watch season three. I just can’t watch the Bangladesh episodes. Dislike it all hugely. Daft storyline, Georgie being super annoying and CJ being weird. Hmm Can’t fault the acting. BA is good at making CJ look weird and MK does a good disaster waiting to happen delivery of Georgie. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I have, however, invested sometime watching BA in Reign on Netflix recently. BA being moody and nefarious in leather trousers, not too shabby. Wink

I'm here Rhu but just finishing my tea...

Rhubarb01 · 08/12/2018 18:37

I'm here too ilove - just rushed through everyone's tea and now present and correct.

Rhubarb01 · 08/12/2018 18:39

Oh my goodness - some interesting outfits from presenters and judges and here come the contestants.

Shirley's is the most striking- reminds me of a tinsel Christmas tree.

Rhubarb01 · 08/12/2018 18:40

Stacey looks very much like a twenties flapper.

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:42

I'm here, good timing. I love the Charleston. I'd really like to learn how to do it. Not sure my poor shoulders could cope though.

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:44

It looked pretty good to me, but let's see what the judges have to say about it.

Rhubarb01 · 08/12/2018 18:44

Fast and frenetic - very much in the spirits of the Charleston. Think one of the slide through the legs at the start was a bit stuck, but she throws herself into it and you can't help but like her. It was fun and love that fringing on the dress

Rhubarb01 · 08/12/2018 18:46

Sometimes I try to do the swivel when I'm in the kitchen cooking tea, but I always get confused. I used to be able to do it. Must be an age thing.

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:48

I'm impressed Rhu. Dancing is not one of my strengths!

39/40 for Stacey - it bodes well. Bless her, so excited.

Huw, great respect for you on the news but you really laboured the T&Cs there!

Here comes Joe. I think he will do this quite well because he really studies ballroom to try to do it well.

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:51

I think he has a massive online following too and is very popular.

Nice song, romantic performance and for once it was really well sung - you can't say that very often about the band.

Ah, that was really lovely....

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:53

Very graceful and I loved Diane's dress. (Do not like her hair and never have, I must say).

Yes ilove they don't ever disclose the voting figures but apparently the views of his dances each week on Youtube are always the highest. I reckon he's getting a lot of votes - some from younger viewers and probably some from older viewers who think he's very cute.

Perhaps it wasn't technically correct but it was still lovely.

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:56

There are a fair few celebrities in the audience tonight. It would be nice if BA turned up again!

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:57

Nooooooooooo, a 6 from Craig. That's mean.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 08/12/2018 18:57

Diane's hair reminds me of the time that Joanne and Scott (from Radio 1) did that performance to 'Under the sea' - is it The Little Mermaid?

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:58

Ashley and Pasha. I really like Pasha, he seems such a genuine guy. Ashley is a great dancer but as we know, she didn't come into this as a complete newbie. I didn't know until I read the article about SCD this week that she had been a judge on Dancing on Ice so does have lots of experience.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 08/12/2018 18:59

Yes, saw Chris Evans in the audience. Still wonder why BA was there, but who knows whether they worked on him. He is getting to be better known now. However, I expect it doesn't fit in with his agenda.

Here comes Pashley!

Ilovelblue · 08/12/2018 18:59

The Paso Doble is my least favourite of all the dances.
