Evening all. Merry Christmas! If you've forgotten anything, remember it's only one day and I am sure you can do without it!

Like Rhu, I am entertaining on Boxing Day and although I have most of it already and it's either in the freezer or the fridge, there are some things I need and which I couldn't be bothered queuing for on Friday, so I will be heading to the supermarket too on Boxing Day morning.

I caught the Olivia Colman shot on the iPlayer boxset trailer but was doing something else at the time and missed BA. I must watch out for it again.

My Soldier Soldier DVD came this morning so at some point over the week, I will have to sit down and watch it to refresh my memory.

Peace reigns here at the moment. DH and I are going to our youngest son's so no cooking for me this year. Nice short journey too as they live next door.

Youngest grandson (9) has just been in to say Santa brought him a new bike and was thoughtful enough to put fairy lights on it. Great stuff.

Actually, I thought I'd posted my message at the back of 8 o'clock this morning, but when I checked just now, it was still sitting there unposted. Apologies. It originally said 'Good morning'!

Morning ladies. Must share this. Not sure if I've had too much Christmas cheer or not but last night/this morning I had a lovely dream about Luke P. Not THAT sort of dream unfortunately but that he moved into a house on my road. I woke up before much else happened unfortunately!

How is everyone else? I always find this point between Christmas and New Year quite strange. I get mixed up with the days too.

ilove that is funny and a bit random about LP moving into your road. The only dream I can remember from a long time ago is CJ rather randomly playing cricket in a team on a village green somewhere and I was watching. I should add here that I have nothing to do with cricket, don't even like the game and there isn't a village green anywhere near me. I believe I'd been watching an episode of Downton - which might date it it a bit - and that is where it happened.

Embarrassing confession here - at Christmas I still like to watch the Downton Christmas special when Matthew proposes to Mary - it was such a brilliant episode for Christmas Day when it was first shown. I try to forget that other Christmas special a few years later which had the opposite effect!

ilove I did some 'research' and watched episode 1 of 'Soldier, Soldier' and enjoyed it. There is a lot to discuss and a few moments which made me laugh aloud - one because it reminds me of the start of 'Our Girl' and another because it's just straightforward funny.

Anyone watching 'The ABC Murders' ? I watched the first episode and, being well-versed in the David Suchet production, didn't really like it very much. I had to turn up the brightness setting on my TV to 100% in order to see everything and I can't say I like what has been done with it or John Malkovich's performance. There's a lot of criticism on the main thread. I didn't bother watching episode 2.

I haven't watched a lot of Christmas TV but did watch 'Call the Midwife' and 'Torvill and Dean' which was interesting.

ANY dream including LP has to be good!
Very quiet here, but I do wish the weather was a bit more seasonal. Haven't watched much tv, what with one thing and another.

harrumph! How come Rupert Grint can take time off from SNATCH! to do the ABC Murders, but LP couldn't get time off for OG?

Good point eejit! I remember reading that LP said that it had turned out that he did have more free time before he had to start on filming more Snatch episodes, but by that time they had committed to the story line of him being blown up! Considering how much messing about they did with the latter part of the series I don't see why they couldn't have done a quick switch round and make him badly injured in that explosion. After all he could have made a miraculous recovery in later episodes surely. 😜

Perfectly put Magi. Agree entirely. Am I right in thinking they were due to film Snatch out in the Caribbean somewhere (Puerto Rico maybe?) and because of the hurricane, filming there didn't happen. I have a feeling in the end, they did it around Malaga in southern Spain. I only know that as I have an ex-colleague who now lives out there and he may have known of my - ahem - interest in LP.

I think tomorrow I will create a new thread as we are nearly at the end of this one. The next one will be number 50. Can you believe it!

Hi all.

I've watched the first episode of "Soldier Soldier" tonight. It did make me laugh - it's very dated!

I have this vague recollection that I had a crush on one of the officers in the series, but there's nobody so far who I seem to remember (other than Robson and Jerome of course). Maybe it was somebody in a later series.

I do however recognise a couple of characters who far more recently have appeared in Holby City or Casualty. I found this in a quick Google search which may amuse you (or not).
