Tennis thread: towards the end of the season, lots of tennis still to be played!

Hi all, I wasn't sure if Raahh was around so I thought I would start a new thread (thanks ferrier) in case of any urgent tennis news that we might need to start posting about immediately! I'm looking forward to Shanghai this week

I see Croatia are 2-0 up after the first two singles matches. Saw a clip of Tsonga trying to lob Cilic - obviously he hadn't seen the albatross video or he wouldn't have bothered trying

I reckon France will win the doubles with Mahut and PHH, and Croatia will wrap it up on Sunday... It'd be nice to actually see some of it though. Huh!

I am cross at not being able to watch the Davis Cup- I love watching Tsonga, and it's probably the last chances to watch Mahut, so it's really a bit rubbish. .

I always think of Jo Willy as being very tall, but i suppose he isn't, compared to Marin! (not many are, I suppose!)

I read something earlier about how the players stayed in a brothel once on the Davis Cup tour and Greg Rusedski had to be told why there were mirrors on the ceiling

Also, seen on BBC sports page that the shy and retiring Justin Gimelstob has been charged in LA for an alleged assault. He was the annoying prat in someone's box at Wimbledon, wasn't he? Can't remember the player though

I'm glad France won the doubles. I saw some footage of Mahut crying during the French national anthem - so at least he's done his bit in the tie. I still think Croatia will win though, as long as Marin doesn't get nervous! Hope not.

Aww, little hobbity Mahut. I will miss him. He has made quite an impact on the game, in his own way. And I hope he will be remembered as the doubles specialist he has become, and not just for 'that match'. So many players are retiring this year/over the next few months.

I've definitely been watching too many made for tv Christmas movies, as the first festive drink that came to mind was egg nog

I'm not sure I've ever had Egg nog. I always assume it's a bit like a snow ball (advocaat). It certainly looks custardy. But it always seems to be warm.

I watched Nativity 2, whilst ironing. yesterday.
I'm saving the really 'good' stuff for nearer Christmas Although I've already seen Arthur Christmas and Jingle All the Way. DD1 was ill at the weekend- we watched films and ate twiglets.
