Hi all, I wasn't sure if Raahh was around so I thought I would start a new thread (thanks ferrier) in case of any urgent tennis news that we might need to start posting about immediately! I'm looking forward to Shanghai this week Smile

Benoit's hair looks great Grin

No, Chicken hasn't really built on the success, but I think he's found his level. It's a lot more to do with Djok finding his mojo again. Sadly. Grin

Raahh · 29/10/2018 17:47

Dimitrov does need someone to sort him out . Whether Agassi is the man for the job, I don't know.

PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 17:48

Yes sadly I think you are right Raahh!

I've finally sneaked the TV onto sky sports. Close third set between Lopez/DeMinaur. The Aussie is scampering around all over the place.

I see Kyle Edmund has withdrawn from Paris - not sure why though.

Now, if Benoit was to dye his beard aswell.....Grin

JaneJeffer · 29/10/2018 18:23

Yay well done Fele!!

PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 18:27

Phew that was a close one!! Can't believe DeMinaur smashing his racquet at the end - he doesn't look the type at all!!

Kyle was carrying an injury from somewhere ... I forget what!

Delighted for Feli. He's my number 4 but has fallen off the radar a bit this last season or so. The most wonderful hands (as they say!).

Yes, not sure Agassi is right for Grigor but they looked to be having a good time in the clip I saw. I always thought Grigor did best with I think it was Rajeev Ram .... have I got that right. Anyway, I'd love to see him do better.

I will make sure to watch Gasquet and Shagalot.

PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 18:28

kazza can you imagine? He'd be like a cerise Father Christmas!

Roger Rasheed. Those double Rs!

JaneJeffer · 29/10/2018 18:30

Must have been frustrating for him because he had it in the bag and let it slip away.

I'm so tired and feel like it's about 10 o'clock cos it's so dark. It's a bank holiday here today and I had lots of the in-laws visiting and I'm knackered now.

PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 18:35

Yes fair play to Grigor - at least he's trying something, which is good.

Break for dinner now and back for tennis later. I hate these dark evenings Jane - it's pitch black out there!! Hope you have a relaxing evening Smile

I forgot to switch my alarm off last night as well!

Raahh · 29/10/2018 18:41

kazza a purple beard would be great too- with green bit. A Wimbledon colours tribute. Grin

JaneJeffer · 29/10/2018 18:43

I love the Wimbledon beard idea, except Wimbledon probably wouldn't allow it Grin

Raahh · 29/10/2018 18:48

No, they probably wouldn't. Grinbut I'm sure at some point Venus(?) had her hair beaded purple green and white.

ferrier · 29/10/2018 18:56

I'm not surprised AdeM smashed his racket. He was way up. Then he was down and saving match points. Then he had two match points of his own and then he lost it.

kazzaD66 · 29/10/2018 19:15

Parkin he'd have fitted right in on SCD last Saturday, some sort of Halloween troll perhaps Halloween Grin

ferrier · 29/10/2018 19:21

Just seen that Grigor and Fabio played doubles together. They lost but it looked very entertaining!

PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 19:27

How can Shaggy play with that strap sticking out from the front of his cap?? That would really get on my nerves.

Also why do they have those rubbish fruit bowls next to them at the change of ends?!

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 20:25

I mean, so that expect them to start peeling oranges to snack on at the change of ends?! Hmm Sorry, I know this isn't exactly the main talking point of this match but it's really annoying me!

Anyway, that match was a bit of a damp squib I thought - Shaggy made heaps of mistakes. A few double faults. Gasquet was pretty steady throughout.

Mahut is playing some lovely stuff atm 😍

OP posts:
Raahh · 29/10/2018 21:57

I will miss Mahut when he retires. He has had a great doubles career, and a steady singles one. I hate that his footnote in history will probably be that match against Isner though.

PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 22:16

Ugh I know Raahh. The commentators were wondering what Mahut thought of the Isner Rule being brought in Hmm I imagine he probably thinks it's over 8 years too late tbh.

I'll miss him too, I like watching him and his game style is pretty unusual these days. I wonder if he'll go out on a high with a Davis Cup win??

OP posts:
Raahh · 29/10/2018 22:26

Davis cup would be fitting, and I think he might qualify for London in the doubles( the race still lists The Bryan Brothers as a pair, and of course they won't be playing together yet)

PrivateParkin · 29/10/2018 22:31

Doesn't it list the Bryan Bros as a pair and then Sock/Mike Bryan as well?! Grin Not sure wh
how that would pan out in reality!

I hope Mahut makes London. Time for some more celebratory flossing if so!!
