Hi all, I wasn't sure if Raahh was around so I thought I would start a new thread (thanks ferrier) in case of any urgent tennis news that we might need to start posting about immediately! I'm looking forward to Shanghai this week Smile

Grin Fizzy I'm just score watching, but I am getting confused at times between Basel and Vienna. Now Thiem is out, I will be more confused- because he is Austrian, it was easier to remember he was in Vienna!

Fizzywinegum · 26/10/2018 17:42

Yes I was trying to remember it that way as well Raahh - also is roger playing in Basel and is that in switzerland? (Not very good at geography!)

PrivateParkin · 26/10/2018 17:53

Oh yes that's helpful of them to put the name on the court - must pay more attention in future Grin

Roger is definitely playing in Basel, but that's about all I know. Have hardly seen any of it this week.

I think Nishikori has gone ahead of Isner now in the race for London... but actually I really don't care - in fact I don't even know why I'm posting about it!

I’m feeling a bit meh about tennis at the moment Private (I miss Rafa Sad)

Raahh · 26/10/2018 18:20

I miss Rafa, am really concerned that he might end up pulling out of either Paris or London.

I want Tsitsipas to win in Basel.

I'm not too fussed about Vienna really,Coric would be good, I guess.

Fizzywinegum · 26/10/2018 18:51

Coric has just retired injured Raahh Sad

I’m a bit worried that Rafa seems to be very quiet at the minute - hope he’s not going to withdraw from Paris or London but wouldn’t be entirely surprised

Simon is 3-0 up against Roger in the first set.

Raahh · 26/10/2018 19:14

I'm the kiss of death, Fizzy Sad
I'm not saying what I'm thinking about the current score in BaselGrin

Raahh · 26/10/2018 19:35

grrr.i hate tie breaks.

PrivateParkin · 26/10/2018 20:17

The draw is out for Paris and Rafa is in it... I know he could still pull out but still. It's something isn't it??

Also on his twitter he has just announced that he's going to play an exhibition match to raise money for the flood relief in Mallorca - not sure who he's playing though!

Raahh · 26/10/2018 20:27

it's a small sign, private. I hope he is fit enough.

it's a lovely gesture re the charity match- I hope people don't expect him to play, it really wouldn't be a great idea to do too much.

Raahh · 26/10/2018 20:28

oh, I read it wrong, he is playingGrin

it's been a long week.

Raahh · 26/10/2018 20:29

and I'm glad to see that Simon has won a set.

PrivateParkin · 26/10/2018 21:03

Raahh this is the tweet - using Google translate so could be slightly incorrect!

"Very happy to announce that next day December 7 will play an exhibition in Palma de Mallorca for the benefit of the victims of San Llorenç."

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/10/2018 21:16

oh, that will be good, at least it's a few weeks after London( if he goes).

I see Federer has won, but having watched the scores , Simon put up a fight.

PrivateParkin · 26/10/2018 22:04

Yes I didn't see Roger but I'm just watching Tsitsipas now - he's a break down and looking a bit rattled...

JaneJeffer · 26/10/2018 22:11

but actually I really don't care - in fact I don't even know why I'm posting about it! Grin

PrivateParkin · 26/10/2018 22:32
Grin Tsitsipas is playing better now. Medvedev's attitude (or maybe his tufty "beard") has got Stefanos mad.

JaneJeffer · 26/10/2018 22:59

I didn't realise it was on because Sky says it's NZ rugby

Raahh · 26/10/2018 23:21

oh crumbs- I'm score watching and it's not going to plan.

JaneJeffer · 26/10/2018 23:25

Wow the handshake was brief

Raahh · 26/10/2018 23:25

oh bigger! Sad

Raahh · 26/10/2018 23:28

stupid auto correct! Grin

PrivateParkin · 26/10/2018 23:29

Ugh Medvedev won. The "handshake" at the end was very brief!

Jane my DH is getting up at 4am to watch NZ rugby Hmm

OP posts:
PrivateParkin · 26/10/2018 23:36

Ha x-post Jane - I think that was one of the most token handshakes I've ever seen!

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 26/10/2018 23:44

Private he's keen!

And nothing to do with tennis but I've just put Graham Norton on and Rick Astley looks amazing!
