Catching up with it now. Feeling so uncomfortable for so many reasons.

I have read the book, a few years ago, can’t remember much about it (that’s normal for me though so I’m not saying it was bad)

alwayswingingit · 30/09/2018 22:11

she was hiding her glass of red wine under the table as she was speaking to her DD @Graphista

alwayswingingit · 30/09/2018 22:12

Really enjoyed it...looking forward to tuning in next week. And yes Jenna Coleman is stunning.

Janus · 30/09/2018 22:12

When the teenage daughter came home from school her mum had a glass of wine in her ha d and hid it under the table while she spoke to her daughter.

I don't think the trial is for the disappearance of the baby, as PP said, if it were, then why would the trial be in UK?

Yes, what was the significance of the vomiting? What was she drinking from those little bottles on the plane? He got them to fetch her a glass of water, then gave her the little bottles too?

Piggywaspushed · 30/09/2018 22:13

I didn't get at what point they went to the shop in the dark? Was this before or after they arrived at the nice beach house? I am muddled by the Oz timeline, as my theory is she abnadoned it in that collapsed shack but I am not sure if the baby was seen after that?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/09/2018 22:14

I don't know how you can stay with someone who lies about being married, shags you in the marital bed so his dd and wife walk in?! Surely the fact that he is trying to gain custody of his dd and take her away from her mother to the other side of the world is a massive red flag as well.

Is love really that blind?!

I can't think jo has anything to do with the noahs disappearance, she seems pretty typical of most new mums tbh.

salsamad · 30/09/2018 22:14

Was there time for her to quickly move the baby out of the car and into that demolished house when they stopped for Alistair to use his phone?

EvePolastri · 30/09/2018 22:15

Ex wife wasn't in court

flopsyrabbit1 · 30/09/2018 22:15

Ah maybe the sickness and buying pads in prep for a period, maybe pregnant that wiuld send her over the edge,i know shes bf but still posdibe

Whyohsky · 30/09/2018 22:16

Lots of stuff in there that was unbelievable. How would he be able to bring the daughter back to the UK if she was habitually resident in Oz? And that’s even if she wanted to go, given her age? Prior to that, how was her mum able to take her to Oz from the UK without her dad’s consent if she’d been habitually resident in Scotland? And why didn’t he fight for her then and there? Why years later?

HollowTalk · 30/09/2018 22:17

No, I wouldn't have left my baby in the car, but she wasn't attached to the baby, was she?

EvePolastri · 30/09/2018 22:18

I feel she is acting in a Kate Mcann style, I.e not like the public would expect or want . And she's going to be portrayed in a similiar way to how Kate was

SubtitlesOn · 30/09/2018 22:18

Think the vomit was preg related

Kept saying to TV please take the baby hat off while indoors

The spade in ex wife boot is significant cos film paused on it IMHO

eddiemairswife · 30/09/2018 22:18

GraphistaThe ex-wife was drinking wine and held the half empty glass under the table when her daughter came home.
I'm finding the time jumps confusing and irritating.

Bestseller · 30/09/2018 22:19

Maybe I'm confused by the timeline but it seemed very early in their "relationship" that he took her to the marital bed. (she didn't know he was married or was she pretending to her friend that she didn't? ).

Assuming it was a shock to her too why not walk away then - I can (kind of) understand if the relationship was well established or she was already pregnant, but right at the start?

HollowTalk · 30/09/2018 22:19

Did anyone enjoy the music? The composer is the guy who's doing the new Mission Impossible.

EvePolastri · 30/09/2018 22:19

why she took her back to oz, and he didn't raise it with authorities at any point, til now. So that's quite possible

Gemini69 · 30/09/2018 22:22

Ex wife wasn't in court

I'm pretty sure she was.. I thought she was sat next to Chloe.. listening to the evidence... Flowers

flopsyrabbit1 · 30/09/2018 22:22

Thank god something decent on a Sunday night

PillowOfSociety · 30/09/2018 22:22

"Would a 14 year old really be forced to go and live with her father if she didn't want to go"

From what I have seen on MN about people discussing an Expat marriage possibly splitting up, no, Aus doesn't let minors leave the country if they have a parent there, BUT didn't they say something about having to prove that the ExW is an unfit mother? So they would let her go if he proves she is unfit.

My guess is the MIL would plan to go with her DS and DGD.

The ExW was in court!

They were all in the car because they were travelling to the MIL's house from the cottage, after having had a nap.

Were they in danger from the bush fire? They were driving towards it, but no-one seemed anxious at the cottage or the town.

lolarose896 · 30/09/2018 22:24

She is a brilliant actress!

Aridane · 30/09/2018 22:25

What channel?

EvePolastri · 30/09/2018 22:26

gemini I thought that was the gran

Maybe I got it wrong then

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/09/2018 22:26

I can understand the ex wife going back to Oz with her dd tbh, if he had been that bothered he should have gone back to Oz then to sort out custody not wait two years.

I can't work out what they were buying in the shop, it paused on what she picked up so wondering if that's significant?
