This story has remarkable similarities to theories on a real life story we’ve all heard of.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/10/2018 00:13

I think her husband is manipylating her. I think he is contrilling her. I alsi think the baby is alive. I think this is why she is expressing milk.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/10/2018 00:14

Sorry about the typos!

ellenanora5 · 08/10/2018 02:00

Why would she say Noah was four months old, she told the landlady of the rental he was three months and so many days, that's very specific, so I'm thinking she said four months because he's still alive (clutching at straws)

I think Alistair mum knows he's a shit, she saw the bruises on Jo arm and didn't seem surprised, I bet he did the same to Alex

Also how come the phone was in the wardrobe, it was a new phone, who leaves a new phone around for no reason.

His Mum knows something is up

SoupDragon · 08/10/2018 07:04

I'm thinking she said four months because he's still alive

But she referred to him in the past tense which implies she knows he is dead.

53rdWay · 08/10/2018 07:31

I think the “he WAS four months old” is meant to be a red flag, but didn’t Ali write the script for her? It’s weird that someone who’s meant to be as media-savvy as he is would slip up like that.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 08/10/2018 07:31

With Alistair a 'spin doctor' it's difficult to know what is real and what is staged....BUT Jo is unpredictable I would say which will make any 'staging' difficult to execute as he envisages...

For all we know the "he was four months..." line could have been on the crib cards Alistair gave to Jo for the press conference.

Romcomjunkie · 08/10/2018 07:31

The bootie in Chloe’s room seems the most damning piece of evidence against Alex, so why didn’t the police interview Chloe and ask her why it was there? It could have been posted to her as a keepsake in advance of meeting Noah or similar. All the other evidence, running route etc, seems quite flimsy!

beanaseireann · 08/10/2018 07:38

Alistair is very cold

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 08/10/2018 07:38

We don't know that the police aren't 'staging' things themselves...

Everincreasingfrequency · 08/10/2018 07:50

"We don't know that the police aren't 'staging' things themselves..."

True, the woman police officer seemed quite on the ball, asking whether Jo was breastfeeding when she said she needed tampons. (I know that isn't conclusive, by the way!) But I doubt if the police would go as far as arresting someone else if they really suspected it was Jo and Al - I hope not anyway!

Yes - why was the phone in the wardrobe and why did it need a new phone card if it's Jo's existing phone?

Hadn't thought that Jo is the one creating the posts on social media - that can't be in Al's plan, as he would know that she might get found out if the police take the phone.

JustDanceAddict · 08/10/2018 08:00

I read the first chapter as a sample on kindle. Once we knew the baby wasn’t in the car after last night I just couldn’t help it, but tbh it doesn’t tell you a lot.

littlequestion · 08/10/2018 08:03

I think that Alistair forced Jo to take part in a plot to have Noah "kidnapped" so he could frame his ex. That's what they were fighting about as she didn't know until they got to Australia. The baby was left in the shack for some accomplice to come and pick up. I suspect something has gone/ will go wrong and Noah dies or vanishes and Jo murders Ali.

Everincreasingfrequency · 08/10/2018 08:20

I wouldn't put that past Al, littleq.

On the other hand, Al couldn't have known that he could frame his ex though, could he? - suppose she'd gone over to see a friend that afternoon/evening, or even stayed at home mning so that internet records could prove she didn't leave the house? Maybe the private detectives he's been using to get info on Alex have aready told him she goes running not jogging every evening, and which route, so he thought it was a reasonable bet.

Dulra · 08/10/2018 08:21

I am gripped by this love dramas with so many different options for what happened. I think the baby died on plane or soon after due to the meds mix up. I think the reason they did not involve paramedics (as all sane people would do if a baby isn't breathing) is because Alistair is so focused on getting chloe he knew a dead infant could question his suitability as a father so he's concocted this fake kidnapping and decided to frame alex in the process. He's manipulated jo to go along with but like others have said I think she'll unravel she's already going off plan with calling her friend keeping the bib and posting online with the alias. Why she's in court in scotland and why there is no sign of Alistair in those scenes I'm not sure...

misstblue2 · 08/10/2018 08:22

what real life story luckydiamond
i'm finding it really slow, its not keeping me gripped but i'll stick with it if only to find out what's happened to noah

crimsonlake · 08/10/2018 08:53

Not part of the plot but something I noticed which bothered me. The ex wife about a third of the way through... was shown in her house and her hair was much longer, way past her shoulders. Do not think it was a flashback, did anyone else notice it?

53rdWay · 08/10/2018 08:55

Was that the flashback to when she left Scotland/cut up Alistair’s passport crimsonlake?

FanciedAChangeToday · 08/10/2018 09:11

crimsonlake I thought that was the flashback to Scotland after her husband and Jo's affair was discovered, and Alex was legging it to Australia

OP posts:
PrincessScarlett · 08/10/2018 09:19

Crimson, it was a flashback to when she left Ali while he was at work.

crimsonlake · 08/10/2018 09:32

Ah yes, that will explain it, there is me thinking I was being observant when in fact I was not, thanks!

Clawdy · 08/10/2018 09:34

Any comments on real life cases on here will be reported and removed, as happened with an earlier post. Such comments are really inappropriate.

placemats · 08/10/2018 10:43

So how did the bootie get into Chloe's room? Was it part of a present she was going to send? Did her mum Alex tear the present up?

Alex obviously has taken the break badly what with the stalking. Interesting that Jo is also trolling the internet.

However, her and Alistair have been seen running alone. Big mistake.

drspouse · 08/10/2018 11:22

place the bootee had Noah's DNA on it so wasn't Chloe/her mum's property.
I assume Alistair planted it.

placemats · 08/10/2018 11:25

Oh I missed the DNA bit. My cat was playing the Hokey Pokey last night - in out, in out. Love him really.
