Thank god I'm not the only one who thought the car would blow up.

The lack of the 'one rank senior' Mercurio signature was just an opportunity wasted, it would have been a perfect LoD Easter Egg.

Very pleased Longcross got his comeuppance temporarily, although I still don't think everything in Slash's flat has been explained, e.g. the USB drive.

I take it in Jedworld Brexit isn't happening, as the best way actually of defeating RIPA 18 would have been just to sit back and wait for Parliament to grind to a halt debating Brexit, no need for all that messy assassination. (I'm still not convinced you would influence policy that well by offing one politician? Why not use money instead?)

Well done Slash on a very good DIY bomb defusing, that's one for the CV.

Still a shame Keeley Hawes is actually dead (unless going to put in an appearance in Series 2). Mercurio needs to do a series for her for definite, and perhaps let her play someone less unpleasant.

Fabulous Sunday night telly, even if not a patch on LoD.

Flaskfan · 23/09/2018 22:46

Anyone thinking it was poor, obviously hasn't stuck with Fear the walking dead for all the seasons. Now THAT'S a series even a gcse student could improve.

Spanglylycra · 23/09/2018 22:46

AIBU to be left thinking "David Budd wouldn't drive a Qashquai" 😂

Digggers · 23/09/2018 22:47

Personally I think the thigh and groin shots made it for me

beanaseireann · 23/09/2018 22:47

It was tense!
I like happy endings Smile

Melabela10 · 23/09/2018 22:48

Anyone else disappointed with an ending? No real plot twists, so predictable, half of a time spent toying around the bomb vest, the whole scene of which was so made up and unreal and finally Julia is confirmed dead dead. how disappointing.

Jellyonawonkyplate · 23/09/2018 22:48

For me the performances made it and have to say I'm disappointed Julia is dead. her and Richard madden were electric together! Find him a bit flat on his own so not sure if invest in a second series

llangennith · 23/09/2018 22:50

Great ending!

PenelopeShitStop · 23/09/2018 22:52

Feel a bit cheated that Slash was happy to jump Julia despite still being in love with his wife Hmm

Also thought the ending was cute but trite. After constantly giving him the brush off, and shagging someone else, why did his wife suddenly completely change her mind and decide to give him another chance?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 23/09/2018 22:56

But but but... Too many questions dangling there. Left open for series 2?

wowfudge · 23/09/2018 22:56

The game was up for Craddock. Maybe she said she was going to confess and didn't care who interviewed her? As a pp stated - it wasn't a documentary. I thought there were some clues, e.g. it was such a cliche that Nadia was forced to bomb the train by her domineering husband.

I can't believe that anyone would think it remotely plausible that Julia wasn't dead and was going to make an appearance.

The USB drive was what SlashDave had his covert recordings on.

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/09/2018 22:57

Nadiya actress was outstanding. Totally believed her when she was supposedly terrified and then at the end when her expression changed...

mooncuplanding · 23/09/2018 22:58

Once he'd done the thumb detonator thing, why didn't he just take the vest off and not do all that 'very tense' wire cutting?

If I recall correctly, they just removed Nadia's bomb?

SoupDragon · 23/09/2018 22:59

His was booby trapped at the clasps. He couldn’t take it off.

BuntyII · 23/09/2018 22:59

'hope the son is getting on better in his new school'

😂😂😂

SoupDragon · 23/09/2018 23:00

Thank god I'm not the only one who thought the car would blow up.

Me too! I also thought his wife was going to get shot on the way to the car.

Duckswaddle · 23/09/2018 23:01

Loved it.
I think his wife at the end saw how much better he was doing and knew he was getting help - that’s all she wanted. I like happy endings too 😊

KnotsInMay · 23/09/2018 23:02

“he wasn't being PC with Nadia in ep 1, it was a racial stereotype - meek Muslim woman being used by her controlling husband.”

No, he was feeding her a ‘way out’, as part of a de-scalating negotiation technique, same as Craddock pretended to do to Slash with her ‘good service’ speech in the square.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 23/09/2018 23:03

That Nadia thing was a twist. Her smirk was chilling. She is a very good actress

JakeBallardswife · 23/09/2018 23:04

That was an excellent series we really enjoyed it. Agree it wasn’t quite as good as lonely duty however it was gripping TV wasn’t American! I do want to see another series of the night manager though, that was up there with a line of duty.

KnotsInMay · 23/09/2018 23:04

“Feel a bit cheated that Slash was happy to jump Julia despite still being in love with his wife”

He jumped Julia after his wife had her lover overnight. He was desperate and lonely.

wowfudge · 23/09/2018 23:05

There was no appropriate adult in her last interview. Might have been a deliberate device to signal she wasn't vulnerable.

Xmasbaby11 · 23/09/2018 23:05

Thought it tense throughout and it was a fab ending and everything tied up. Lost track of the details and sure it wasn't realistic as such, but the acting was amazing.

I nearly gave up after episode 2 and so glad I stuck with it now!

SirVixofVixHall · 23/09/2018 23:07

The happy ending was a good twist, I agree with pps on that. We were all braced for something bad after 75mins of stress, so it kept the tension up until the credits rolled. Also I felt so sorry for him all the way through that having him killed at the end would have been too grim.

NorthernLurker · 23/09/2018 23:09

I still think she's alive Wink
